    I really would like to take a ride on that 🙃

    Such a gorgeous aircraft. How does it handle in crosswinds, especially on the ground? Are the rudder and tailwheel steering strong enough to handle a decent crosswind?

    • @martinlaubner
      @martinlaubner  Před rokem

      Yes, the handling is very nice. Crosswind is no problem at all.

      @@martinlaubner Thanks for your answer. I might look into getting one of these in the future. I love the high cruise speed compared to most motor gliders.

    can you put something like a ipad to the cocpit,and use it for navigation purposes?

      I use an Android tablet. I have it on my knee usually.

    Can you expand the fuel tank capacity?

    • @martinlaubner
      @martinlaubner  Před 3 lety

      I have heard of someone using a turtle-pac on the backseat, thus increasing the overall capacity to 125 liters...

    Are these reasonable running cost wise?

    How is it to land on paved runway

    • @martinlaubner
      @martinlaubner  Před 6 lety

      Pilot Amar it's alright but I would always prefer a good grass landing strip

      Is it easy to fly and is it good for cross country flying

    • @martinlaubner
      @martinlaubner  Před 6 lety +1

      Pilot Amar The RF5 is good for cross-country flights, yes. Cruise Speed is around 160 km/h at 12 l/h (with variable pitch prop >180 km/h is possible). Is it easy to fly? Well I'd say it depends. If you are used to Taildraggers and / or gliders it certainly is. Handling is really great, stall is harmless. But if you come from flying tricycle gear aircraft (like I did) it takes quite some training to get used to it, but it's all manageable. I think the RF5 is a brilliant aircraft.

      Martin Laubner Well fly tail draggers and gliders. The reason why i asked if it is easy, is because if i buy one in germany i would want to be able to fly it home to Sweden

      Pilot Amar definitely no problem at all! You can Google the "Club Fournier International", there you can find reports of people flying this motorglider everywhere, even 2000 km to Russia!
