The Tornadoes with their swept back wings are gorgeous.
And fully loaded.
Putting the Mach into Mach loop . . .
Yeh Iraqi civilians love them!
Fred Braid ehhhhhh
Fred Braid I-
End shot was the money shot, pair of Hercs over the fogged in lake.
Absolutely, it had a surreal feel to it!
only way that could have been trumped is if it were a Vulcan
@@themisspultone God damn Vulcan fans everywhere 😂👍
@@andycopland3179 :) but could you just imagine one doing the howl as it flew through there
@@themisspultone I was a professional skydiver for many years and among your usual birthday present people coming to jump etc, you'd get aviation enthusiasts too and it was a group wearing a bunch of Vulcan t-shirts that introduced me to it. You'd always get a few a year showing up.
That C-17 action was unreal.
almost looks like CGI
Back when I used to work for a farmer in Washington state the military would do practice runs with c-130s out in almost the middle of nowhere. We'd all be just chilling in our tractors baleing hay. Then all the sudden there'd be 5-8 c-130s flying over with there back doors open. They would drop crates, people, hummers, utv's, atv's, and pretty much what every they could fit inside. It was so cool to watch because they'd drop only a few miles away and seeing the sky scattered with parachutes is an awesome sight.
Beautiful video, imagine being paid to be allowed to fly like that as these guys do! One F15 did look like he had to overbank to get around the corner, The Tornado was exceptional but the F15 E's are a personal favourite. The sequence at the end with the C130's and the fog layer was inspired. And no cheesy music either - just as it should be.
Dream job!
O up
@@slowridefpv9668 Until some sod tries his best to shoot you down yes
Here, here on the "no cheesy music"
well said victor, and i couldn't agree more
You have to wonder if these guys are as excited about the videos and pictures as they are about the run through the loop. You know they have to watch this themselves when they get a chance. It's all glorious to watch.
I can't get enough of this. I flew 33 years 26 years in the US Military.
Thank you 💪🏽👍🏼🙏🏼❣️
That closing shot. Absolutely majestic. Great video.
Nicely done Elwyn. C-17 - 'I can be a fast jet too'
Nick Murray 4 thrusters. It's kinda fast :v but it's fat af
The 17 was built with covert insertions in mind. Her nose section is modular and can take on mission specific modules.
Surprisingly quiet until it's right up on you.
It isn't quiet, it just gets to you almost as fast as it's sound does.
Nick Murray time for fat albert to shine!
The Chinook's sound is very very nice. I am very proud because I worked with this machine in the Spanish Army
I was up the Black Rock in south Wales and watched a pair of chinooks fly below me it was absolutely awesome
I hear that sound in my sleep. I was a Chinook pilot in Nam. The big “thump thump” sound plus the screaming of the forward transmission that was just above the pilot’s heads. Oddly, the sound quiets down a bit in a full power climb. At least on the inside. I’m sure all the former Chinook crews have bad hearing just like mine. Nearly deaf in the high frequencies.
@@cynthiamoon372 Good to see you made it though some can't hear at all god bless those who can't and those who survived
I've always loved that beating drum sound of the CHINOOK & it's giant dual propellers.
Jets: YAAAHHHOOOOOO
helis: excuse me, pardon me, coming through, sorry I’m in your way, excuse me
Ryan M. lands vertically.
🤣🤣🤣
C-130: move! Im gonna shit my pants! I ate taco bell again!
Awesome compilation!
Loved to see that guy waving the hand from the Chinook ;)
Airguardian - AIRSOFT ha yeah, but it was scary for a sec, when he let go to wave, then it turned his way. Was waiting to see him fall out. Yikes.
@FS9 MadDog Driver. I was in the Air Training Corp and we were able to walk on the ramp of a Hercules while tethered as we flew just off the beaches of Adelaide.
It was something I'll never forget
Just Hanging out on the back porch waving to the neighbors
Dave Styles. I guess he was strapped to it.
It made me smile
Well I love fast jets but that view at the end with the cloudy valley cannot be beaten.
That pasture holds the safest sheep on earth !!!
As nice as it is to see the aircraft...that background scenery is gorgeous. Folks living there are so lucky to be surrounded with such beauty every day.
50 years and the F-15 is still on top. Incredible aircraft.
The F15 has never faced a peer enemy (in training or capability terms) in combat.

just looking at all the planes zooming across really quickly then seeing a helicopter i always think the helicopter is saying GUYYYYYYYYYYYYYS WAIT FOR MEEEEEEEEEEEEE
radioactive ... Yeah but the choppers can land at the edge of the lake and the crew can fish and swim. 🤣
@Derp 101 Well if your Rotors are intact and you still have trim control can't you do a hard landing in a helicopter if you have enough altitude?
Id rather be in a helicopter at full engine failure than a plane.
@Derp 101 providing the pilot still has control of collective pitch they can instigate autorotation.
@Derp 101 If you are a pilot in jet with ejector seats, thats a very different situation. If you are in a fixed wing, and your engine goes down, with a full load of passengers, youre going to have a lot of injuries, and potentially fatalities. Rotary wing, the pilot can auto rotate down, and touch down with very little impact. In Canada, pilots have to re certify their auto rotation skills every year, in order to fly commercially. So yes, as a usual passenger, helicopters are the way to go, if that engine is going to fail.
The F-15 is just a beautiful piece of engineering. Timeless design
Mach 2, all weather, striker/fighter/bomber/CAS. It does it all.
Hearing and seeing C-130s fly overhead just gives me the chills across my spine every time, damn those planes are beautifull..
I lived off the end of the runway at Lyneham for 12 years. Happy days..
That Chinook was like effortlessly flying that route. "Just the daily commute lads. Show those Merlins how to do this thing."
The Shithook is the best
Oh that ending scene with the cloud filled valley was stunning! Great videos! Thank you
Thank you very much!
The loadmaster and flight engineer on those Merlin's have the best seat in the house!!!!
This gave me goosebumps sitting on my couch with headphones on. Cant imagine actually being there in person. Great video. Subbed
Glad you enjoyed it!
Elwyn, you have really outdone yourself with this video, and the ending is a perfect cinematic finish to this visual and aural treat !!
I built the control yokes on those C-130s. Lucky bastards get to enjoy the fruits of my labor.
Fantastic camera work!..
I will be visiting this remarkable place
Indeed 🤜🤛🍺
Any day you see a Herc or Chinook is a great day in my book. That shot of the two 130 with the clouds is perfect
Those Merlins sure are some beautiful helicopters
Lol the guys sitting on the ramp in that chopper. XD
/M0ther_bra1ned/ What a madlad
Also been lucky enough to get a ride in that helicopter and they do have harness mounts in the back of the Merlin so he might have ended up with his feet outside if he lost his grip on the ramp actuators.
Absolutely brilliant footage and fantastic variety. This is officially on my list of places to go before I die.
on my list now too
Me too. But is there a publically available schedule or do you just turn up and hope for the best?
It's lovely . The lake you can see is Tal-y-Lyn where the planes dive down , turn left and climb ,you go inland , follow the lake , the big white building is a lovely pub , carry on down and in about 2 mins you come to the sea . Whats not to like ? Wales UK
RAF Odiham ... The flying Fleas
@@Pique147 just turn up no weekend flying and its a good hike up and weather can change in moments so waterproof gear and hiking boots are a must...
The closing shot Hercs receding over the cloud filled valley is serenity itself! Together with Tornado swept, through and climbing exit reminding me of years at Raf Finningley airshow as a boy. Knife edge high speed pass climbing exit with rolls a plenty... Thank you sir! Great work!
03:22 They may be getting up there in age, but, god I love F-16s.
Nothing but a rocket with a single seat and tiny wings. Those things can move!
Legendary status
TT the one true successor to the f104
ragnarocking I live in Belgium and they often pass over my house. Very nice machine if you ask me
Always loved the Tornado, looks and sounds amazing!
Great video as usual Elwyn 👍 Those Hercs at the end over the mist is awesome.
Looked like the ending to an epic movie!!
For sure! It's very cinematic. The herc looks like it's in slo mo all the time 😂👌🏻
Yes, definitely felt like there would be scrolling names of the actors as that last scene rolled. Maybe some stirring music too.
My favorite prop airplane of all time. Being a former para, I just might be a tad biased.
Wow wow wow! Very impressive, at first I was all over the F-15 with massive vapor and then it just got better and better. You could see the aircrew in detail in some of those shots, very cool. The ending was so beautiful with the C130s over the fog covered valley. Thank you for sharing!
Robert Forst Do you mean the vapor from the wing tips? What causes that?
What you are seeing is water vapour in the local air condense in the low pressure core of the wingtip vortex.
I got to sit in the cockpit of the C-17 Charleston. That is one hell of a plane!
I'm amazed at how something so massive can fly so elegantly. I'm so grateful for both our militarys and machines,I'm sleeping soundly again thank you. Fantastic footage
Cheers!
Loving this video, captures the essence of the location perfectly (without the long waits in-between), the tal-y-lyn valley at the end had blank written all over it with that valley fog, nice to see the Brize green team rocked up and saved the day
Absolutely brilliant. One of the best Mach Loop vids ever!
Love the Mach loop video's. I really should visit as it's only 100 miles away. Love these though, they always seem to have a format.
1. F-15 pilot - I'm flying through through the mach loop.
2. Typhoon pilot - I went through the Mach loop low level.
3. Tornado pilot - Hold my beer.
... videos* (plural, no apostrophe) ...
Wow, those Hercs at the end. Incredibly cinematic; could've easily been a closing scene in some war film.
Beautiful countryside.
It really is!
Best air show ever? It was certainly splendid in every way. Magnificent!!
Just some of the smartest badasses to walk the planet flying those aircraft
Gotta love the big girl floating through.
The C17 reminds me of my My Land Rover, slow bit it will go anywhere.
Looked like a fat kid running 5k LOL
Not sure about the slow part.
Top speed on the C17 is about 950 km/h.
It cruises at well over 800 km/h.
If you're comparing it to Fighters or Interceptors, then "Duh" seems to be the appropriate response.
That C17 surely has more space for your arm between the steering and window tho.
Wqwwwww
@@chrisdolson4840 Try loading an Abrams tank or load of Spec Ops jumpers on a fighter or interceptor!
Those F-16's are really moving!
The Chinook with the waving crew chief steals the show, but all truly amazing and capable aircraft flown by world class aviators.
Props to the absolute CHAP hooning the chinook.
Fantastic video that C-17 was very impressive and the 2 C-130's at the end over the cloud in the valley so atmospheric. Excellent catches well done
Good stuff. The A400 appearing outta the ground was surreal, good catch that.
@FS9 MadDog Driver l love its howl
Those Hercs departing over the lake was a thing of beauty.
OMG!! The RAF GR4 Sweept Wing was breathtakingly beautiful! Wow and WOW again!
Superb Coverage and Picture Quality of Mach-Loop, well done, bet you had a great day, Thank You,
Glad you enjoyed it, wont get Day's like that again!
Beautiful shots! C-17, Herc, and Atlas never fail to give me the biggest goosebumps. I'm lucky enough to live where they fly over my house regularly but these low passes are awesome.
The Hercs at the end 😎👌👌👌
@ 4:13 ... Cool as a cucumber, sitting on the tailgate watching the scenery go by. I keep coming back to watch again this remarkable video. Thank you!
Love the chopper with the man sitting cross legged at the back.
Whoever lives in that White Lakeside Home has the coolest location EVER!!!
Them F-15's were gettin some. Still haulin it since the 70's.
I used to occasionally see C17's at exercises at the former Castle AFB in California. I will say, never should you underestimate a US Air Force pilot's ability to impress a bunch of Marines sitting (plastered to the floor) in the back. Vortices with significant vapor cones off the wingtips. Must have been pulling some pretty good G's for such heavy iron. Those C17's convincingly act like they are aerial sports cars the way I've seen them flown around the pattern.
This was wonderful cinematography in a beautiful setting. Well done!
I've worked in the aviation industry for 40 years on the maintenance side. Worked on helicopters at first. Both military and civilian. Currently with American Airlines as an FAA certified mechanic. I've been on many joyrides in all kinds of different aircraft. I see F-16s daily at Tulsa, Oklahoma. International airport.
I pretty jaded when it comes to aircraft videos, but your videos are absolutely stunning. Keep up the good work. I'm waiting with bated breath for your next videos.
Stunning video! And not a lot impresses me. I served US Air Force 24 years. Also was lucky enough to fly in both the Eagle and Falcon.
Man I so envy you 👏🏻
The vivid perspective of the back drop really makes these stunning aircraft pop. Seeing the C17 like that made it look so energetic and galvanised.
That guy sitting on the cargo ramp of that Danish chopper had balls of steel!
Beautiful shot at the end with the low fog.
Every Tornado Pilot ever: "Why are they flying so high?"
Since they have a very high wing load they offer the calmest low level flight of all western jets.
This however affects the maneuverability, a reason why the ADV version was never a success
@@simonm1447 It‘s like someone designed them that way. I guess the ground following radar helps too.
@@NavySeal2k that's right. This is the planned role for the tornado, low and fast, with a terrain following radar. It's a specialist, but that makes it less capable in other roles, like the ADV role where it suffers under the low turn rates due to the high wing load.
It's a fighter bomber, no interceptor.
I may be biased being a brit but this has to be the best place to watch plane's fly by .
Tipping Their Wings just shows Their Class, Loved It
It goes without saying its great footage!
Well done.
Many thanks!
fantastic vid .. those final scenes with the hurcs over the low cloud was beautiful ..thanks for sharing
... hercs* ...
Nothing compares to that lovely RAF tonka...screaming past...although the blue noise from them old RAF hunters comes close 👏👏👏
Thank you so much for standin on a cold, wet hillside, repeatedly so we could enjoy this
Incredible precision aircraft…the pilots must have a blast cruising through the valley
What an amazing video. Your passion for aviation really shines through in your work. Well done!
Breathtaking....This is without doubt the best video I have ever seen and only just come across it.Someone has already posted that the final part of the video is stunning, almost brought me to tears.
That fog is gorgeous! It looks like Merlin awakened he dragon in "Excalibur".
I've always been impressed with the footage of any pilot from any country flying the Mach Loop, but the C-17? Holy Christ in Heaven!
This is one of the best aviation films Ive seen, absolutely superb. The light and the cloud inversion at the end are stunning with the Hercules flying into the distance. Watched a lot of your videos with my little lad, who saw his first Typhoon at Southport today!
That's the best czcams.com/video/9jmZaP1FeHM/video.html, czcams.com/video/MjQG1s3Isgg/video.html
Brings back memories of Gerry Knapp, a U.S. Airforce fighter pilot out of Lakenheath, Norfolk. Gerry and his buddy were ‘bivvied’ at The Golden Lion Hotel in Hunstanton, Norfolk in c 1963/4 where I was the trainee hotel manager. Gerry and his lovely wife and I took to each other, so much so that when they got a flat (apt) across the green from our hotel they treated me to dinner there.
It amazes me still that they would leave the hotel at about 8 a.m. for the 30 minute drive to Lakenheath and return before 5 pm. I asked them one time where they had flown that day and was amazed when they nonchalantly told me...’Oh, Denmark, Germany, Austria, North Africa and Spain !!’.
Excellent recording of a magnificent scenery, and no disturbing music ...
Well done!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love the contrast between fighters' speed and cargos' smoothness :)
RAF GR4 is fantastic! Amazing sound.
Best video of the Mach loop I've ever seen, with a great variety of aircraft!
Glad you enjoyed it 😊 wish it was still like that 😔
If anyone is visiting the Uk visit Wales and the M loop. . This video is just stunning . There is no if or buts . These are the best aviators. God bless them

The Globemaster coming through is like seeing the Battlestar Galactica coming up your driveway.
But can it perform the Adama maneuver? :)

Watching fast movers is always fun, but seeing the big guys swoop through there is even more spectacular. I plan on doing Jedi Transition in a month or two but the Mach Loop is definitely on my bucket list.
There's something about watching massive planes fly that I've always loved. The first time I heard and saw a C5 Galaxy fly was amazing. The F-111 and the Globemaster fly by has always been my favorites.
As an ex Ch47 Flight Engineer...it was awesome to one flying the Loop.
