I had one exactly the same colour and with the original leather interior colour beige, also aut. and sunroof. I still dream of that car today 40 years later! (I sold it in 1980).

Same here I had the last before the 264 and it had larger bumpers and was a wolf in sheep's cloth and absolutely wonderful to drive, also in the winter. It was a bit thirsty and I suppose it was why I sold it, sadly.

Just looking at the 164E, this car is so elegant, distinguished, the brown leather interior, omg, when you think it*s a 1973 model, that car is sturdy, strong, and it reminds me when cars were made to last, a true swedish car, eventhough it*s notvthe same model, to prove how strong these cars are, the have or had a tower of about 10 Volvo cars, I am not sure if they were /are 164 or 140 series, I would like to try that with the new Volvo cars, to do a tower like that, and do a crash test like the ones performed at the time, to see how well do the new cars stand up, yes they are safe, how safe, the other cars, had like a built in roll cage, that absorbed the impact, then you could open the door , do the new ones hold up as well like the 164, 140,240.

@@VolvoKlassiekers I remember in Sweden, they had this tower of at least 10 cars, showing how strong these cars were at the time, I wonder if they have thought about doing the same, but with the new cars, & SUVs, and if they still did a test where they would drop a car of where it would be like a head on collision, not the one where they use a wall, this test would consist of the car either a 240 or 700 series drop head on showing how the cabin even with a severe crash would stay in tact, this was a test done without the dummies simulating the whole family, now maybe it changed, cause I have seen footage, thatthey have in the volvo museum, and I believe that is where they have the tower.

Also do you think that volvo would fully go into LP gas cars , I know that they are selling the VC- 70 , that you fully charge at a station or booth,.
