Ironic that the conversation with Reagan in heavan triggerd that reaction from you two, there's a phone recording of Reagan talking to Nixon where they openly call african diplomats monkeys then laugh about it. The conversation was about how the racist southern vote needs to be courted and appealed to. The Gaurdian had the phone call posted on their youtube channel if you want to listen, its appalling. Search "the guardian nixon and regan phone call" and it will come up.
This is the greatest show of all time, I still don't understand how this was on television.

It pushed the envelope WAY HARDER than south park especially when it came to topics like socialism and revolution. South Park had dirty jokes but boondocks seasons 1&2 were literally hyper leftists , anti government, anti imperialism, anti capitalism messaging. If this show aired today there would be an enormous right wing backlash against it (after they got over their lack of media literacy and realized the show was making fun of them). The boondocks has WAY more balls than south park ever has or ever will have.

This episode made pretty emotional. We're watching Huey break as this season continues and its heart breaking him realizing the world isnt what he thought it was.
It’s not even “not what he thought it was” he’s a kid that knows the world is bad/fucked up but it’s even worse than he imagined. But every now and then a long shot pays off . There is justice but it comes with extreme effort and luck
I notice that a lot of people don't know certain conservative grifter type black political commentators. The name of the black guy who got Ruckus started as the preacher was named Armstrong Elder. That's a combination of the names of Armstrong Williams and Larry Elder. You don't hear as much about Williams now but Larry Elder was a republican presidential candidate this year.

And as you may know, Uncle Ruckus is voiced by Gary Anthony Williams, a very well spoken actor who really took to this character lol

I'm happy to see you watching this show and asking questions. The fact that you are uncomfortable shows that you do not allow that type of negativity in your life, but unfortunately, there are people out there who speak like that and have those types of conversations. As I've stated on other videos, there is always some truth in all humor.
As far as the wrongful conviction portion, they are making fun of the justice system, especially around the Black Panthers. Eye witness testimony is so flawed and unreliable.

I want to comment on this to shed some light on what you guys said during this episode. As a show The Boondocks makes it a point to expose the flaws within all communities represented in the show. As an example: during the R Kelly trial episode they focused heavily on some flaws within the black community’s parasocial relationships to black celebrities. That’s not the “typical” but it does exist. They do this throughout the show for different communities. 9 times out of 10 it’s gonna be either the black community or white community. I say that to say that in this episode they aren’t trying to represent how they think the average white person thinks or talk. They aren’t even trying to say this is how the average prejudiced or racist person talks/acts. They are saying that there are some ideals that exist within those communities that are heavily flawed and that they DO exist, even if only by a few people. And they show how because those ideals do exist that they can be spread and infect other people in the community.

Yes it pokes fun at all communities but the shows EXPLICIT POINT is that systemic racism/white supremacy is the root cause of all of this. That doesn’t you are personally evil as white person but rather that the systemic power structure your ancestors set up was/is explicitly against black people ….because it is. And while every ethnic community has shit to poke fun at, the true evil in this country is the racism that is built into this culture. It’s not about you or anyone you know thinking this way. Ronald Reagan and the Ilk that had power and STILL have power in this country do think this way, and they have set up systems over hundreds of years to play out exactly what Reagan in this episode describes. Hence the term “systemic racism” . And that bleeds down into the culture of a country/ people so profoundly that even if you personally don’t have these explicit thoughts , many of the thoughts you do have are still a product of these systems that they have produced over time. It has all been coordinated and crafted from these disgusting principles for hundreds of years. That’s the entire point of uncle ruckus , even black people are not immune to this generational propaganda. The show is trying to show your he source and it has likely effected your own personal “blind spots” and WHY . It’s not making a moral statement on you personally. Don’t look at it through your own personal lens or if you personally know people like this. Try to see the bigger picture they are painting for you.

So basically there were 3 miracles in the episode, The letter Huey sent out at the beginning that he said had a 5% chance of working, Ruckus' Tumor getting removed, and Shabazz being saved just in time.
Hueys letter isn’t a miracle though by definition. The governor WAS GAY and did have a gay lover . That isn’t a miracle it’s just reality. Huey sending the letter didn’t turn the governor gay or change reality. It was just a calculated shot in the dark that happened to work. That isn’t miraculous it’s just clever/lucky

The show is certainly Biased to a small extent. You can't blame them for not hearing level of racism comparable to ruckus or that ronald reagan depiction in boondocks. Its completely untrue that this is normal.I'm not in your shoes and won't dictate your experience... but understand we all have perceptions of others actions aswell and words. subjective interpretations.
The same way you get mad them because "just because you haven't witnessed things like that personally doesn't mean it doesn't happen every single day." well any white person can get mad because You don't witness or see how many white families adopt African children and donation support. You don't see the perspective of those white people who arent racist even when its in front of you. Or those boot licking "White guilt" weirdos
History books are history... Things of the past which are taught differently depending on whos teaching it. Slavery existed and it was wrong...so was jim crow...so was the stigma attached to black people after jim crow..
As for police shootings and brutality which do happen to both races white and black.. some events widely regarded as "racism" such as George Floyd and more where a black person is killed, involve little intricacies and details that make things not so "Black and white"
such as him holding a pregnant woman hostage with a gun, being a horrible human being or other black folks who did have weapons or tried to grab weapons from officers...These events arent good and certainly pose a level of tradgedy but those who have it coming, have it coming such as george floyd and media never dictates those intricacies... more black people kill black people than white police even though black officers exist aswell.
Police brutality CERTAINLY exist... but its not as bad as the extreme liberals make it seem and this show takes a LOGICAL & mild liberal lean as opposed to conservative

It's important to remember that scenes with Ruckus are not about what white ppl think but what self hating black ppl think and interpret. So it's fine if you're uncomfortable, so are black ppl watching Ruckus speak. I think it's cool that you guys dont know of any white people who are that racist. But i think the show is just being overthe top racist just to be funny, however, the ideas of racism have to come from somewhere. I used to talk to my father in law who was 94 (he passed though) and he was kind of racist. He wasn't uncle ruckus racist. Otherwise he'd be a cartoon. Lol. But i think his attitudes came from a collection of ideas he'd heard from a bunch of little uncle ruckuses! Lol
