Shoutout to the Marik deck for actually maintaining control through most of the duel against a much more modern deck and some seriously broken cards if compared back to the Marik decks generation. 👏
That's because the base is a gravekeeper deck, which is actually a decent anti meta control deck
if he destroyed the token he might had an extra turn , also slifer deck doesnt include obelisk so that was kinda cheating , is an slifer deck not obelisk deck lol
Maintaining control? You must be on crack. Sam was on defense the whole game. Only 1 card protected him from his demise and that wss Nightmare Wheels. Other than that, the deck had nothing.
I haven't played since about 05 ish LOL but I just recently bought the Slifer deck,I gotta learn all over again lmao🍻🍺

Sam you misplayed even though you probably didn't realize it. Nightmare Wheel doesn't negate effects. Slifers second mouth effect bro. Your monsters are supposed to lose 2000 attack when summoned and if they hit 0 ATK points they go to the graveyard. Soom should have read Slifer's effect and caught this.
I bought the Marik structure deck when it first came out. And I used it as is for years, probably one of the best structure decks out there. Once I got back into yugioh I used the marik deck as a base for gravekeepers before fully changing it up. But Marik's deck is so good.

Harpie’s Feather Duster would also destroy the trap monster on Sam’s field as well, as it is still considered a trap card as well as a monster at 11:00

Dude.. I was looking into Red Eyes more. I love how there is no specific way to play it as there is many ways to actually play that deck. Effect burn deck, beatdown and more. Red Eyes makes me happy at times. Not a strong archetype as others may be. But still holds it's own and gets the job done. May even take tournaments. NOT MY DECK FOR DUEL LINKS. But there are really great cards for it. I will tinker with it when more cards become available. It would be fun. I will also venture to new decks soon. I will be placing 2 cards in to finish deck. At least until the new ones come in. The Red Eyes can hold for now. Then it is deck upgrade and a smile on my face.

There were some misplays. Dark jeroid should've been destroyed via sliders effect. And Obelisk couldn't b targeted by magic cylinder
There was no magic cylinder in the Marik deck 🤣 it does have mirror force

When I first began my Yugioh journey I bought 3 Marik structure deck it was insanely good I’m surprised their hasn’t been a reprint for grave keepers such a good archetype

Where did you get your card sleeves??
Not even close to their anime decks. Assuming you combined the Obelisk and Slifer decks, and included all cards they contain that Yugi used, that would total only 8* cards, assuming you used the proper quantities too.
Marik's only does slightly better, with a total of 13** cards that he used in the anime, which is still abysmal, as the video title falsely claims these are anime decks, in which case I would expect to see that 100% of the cards in each deck were used by the respective character.

Thanks for taking the time to do research, unlike them. I get it, the imagery of the God Deck is appealing and there should be a Ra version, but they added cards anyways, Slifer doesn't have Obelisk, Marik's doesn't have Ra, Sam has all of the proper support...and I even think this video has already been done but better by Sam already...haha.

the god structure decks are nuts, me and my buddy are have been doing the whole duel with structure decks only and I can say that indeed the god decks are crazy. I was using a cyber dragons reveloution deck and I was able to defeat both gods but they are able to pull some crazy plot armor combos causing me to lose every single time.
It always hilarious when I see Sam and Soom duel 🤣

What is unfortunate with the Marik strarter deck is that they made the mixture between the real deck of marik and that of Odion who by pretending to be Marik just has that from his deck, "The Winged Dragon of Ra" and personally I have separated all the "Gravekeeper" cards.

The end of Draw of Fate says you can only activate one more card or effect. Then Soom continues to play Feather duster and Card advance
Yeah he also didn’t activate slifers mandatory floodgate effect of dropping a monster attack by 2000 and destroying the monster if reduced to zero upon summing or special summoning a monster which would have been a couple so a few misplays on sooms and sams behalf but is also just a casual for fun duel

Slifer can’t be affected by spell/trap cards so he could attack and use slifer’s abilities
They forgot that metal reflect slime would've been hit by harpy feather duster since it is a trap AND a monster at all times
15:37 dark jeriods effect would be cancelled because of slifers effect of when a monster is normal or special summoned it loses 2000 attack points and if it's attack is reduce to 0 it is destroyed. So since it only has 1700 it would be destroyed and it's effect would t activate
