Few questions:
1)Will the screen require a screen protector as I don't see this version being protected by Gorilla glass?
2) What do you think about the blue polymer back? Any experience with it and do they wear out quickly?
Hey, captain Rainbows, thanks alot, much appreciated. The screen seems to have this films applied, and I am still using it with that, else you are right, no mentioning of Gorilla Glass. Some think it's GG 5 but perpahs they are not listing it officially as it requires a lincense I guess.
Good news is, the stock case has a great lip that protects the screen so you might go without a glass protector.
Re the back, don't have yet much feedback, no signs of worsening as of now.

@VelianSpeaksTech do you recommend the phone for chasing a 3 y old kid running around indoors in artifitial light ? How is the shutter lag/speed indoor, will it get the face or it will be a blurry mess ?

what do you say against iphone 13 mini , s23 and zenfone 9?
At what distance does it change to the main camera? S22U changes from 10x to 3x at 80 cm. 3x to 1x at 35 cm.
Normally there is a good reason for changing lenses and it's not the distance, but the lack of light or good software compensions for lacking light related to higher aperture on the zoom lenses.
Here we have only 3.2x optics so for close objects it uses rather the crop and for far the optical camera but it seems it happens arbitrary, this is why I would love for Xiaomi to include auto lens switch off like Sammy did
@@VelianSpeaksTech You can only do that on sammy by going to pro (photo) or pro video mode, but the result is most often worse. It sounds like a bug, when the circumstances are random.
Does this phone have a P2 entrance for headphones? Or does it atleast come with a P2 adapter?
Sadly not, need to purchase usb c to headphones adapter separately

Just a correction, ufs 3.1 is only avaialble on the 128gb variant, not the ram option. Options present are 8/128 = ufs 3.1 8/256 = ufs 4.0 12/256 = ufs 4.0 and all are lddr5x ram configuration

is main camera same quality with mi 13 pro? is it different only ultra wide and tele?
They use a different sensor, so I expect some differences.
Could you please do a camera comparison between Xiaomi 13 and S22 Ultra, especially for low light, portraits (back camera) also Selfie at night ?(short video would be cool also)

After being with Samsung since the S6, this might be my next phone, waiting for global version to be released and for S23 to be released. I believe Xiaomi 13 will be much better than S23 in terms of battery 🔋 we shall see...

UFS 4 is available with 12gb of ram or with those with 256gb of memory?
I have 12 256, I believe that only models with 12gb ram have ufs 4.1, but we need to check on weibo one more time...
One things is for sure the 8/128 is ufs 3.1 which is a deal breaker

Just a small correction: samsung and iphones use a different m series panel. I believe it's the M11 or M12

How much better is this phones battery compared to s22 ultra in daily usage?
Honesty way better, I get on a constant basis 5-6 hours of SOT, which is not possible on the S22U with WQHD and 120Hz on
Geekerwan tested it and it's better than 14 pro max
I doubt this has e6 display, 13 pro does but only xiaomi 13 has much lower peak brightness as per specs which means it may not have the e6 samsung
It should be E6 all the sources mention that, the display is stunning.

Hard to tell as I never used the S23 Plus, though for gaming... maybe better Xiaomi
Does the Chinese version has any problem with EU carriers?
Not for me, tested it with carriers. There is only a limitation on 5G as not bands are aggregated but still connectivity is very fast

Not sure if it's hardware supported, but it can do 120Hz... So probably force 90Hz is an option

Then the battery is super good if it can hold 8h+ in 120hz. Mine A52s using 120hz goes from 100% to 10% in 2-3 hours

Honestly I think this one is really very good! It has some things that the S23 doesnt have!!! 4k 60 FPS dolby vision, bigget bettery, the screen is amazing Samsung OLED E6...

A screen at least LTPS, a USB-C 3.1 port, and a selfie camera capable of filming in stabilized 4k HDR or at least stabilized FHD / 60 HDR and this Xiaomi 13 could have been the compact smartphone of the year.
Samsung's standard S23 might not be the battery life champ 🔋(even I think it will achieve at least 6 - 7h SOT which is more than enough for most compact smartphone users) will be better in all other aspects, and above all, Xiaomi no longer has its great advantage which was the price-quality ratio.
This is the exact reason I was wondering about the title and did not go for "the best small android phone of 2023" w/o having the S23 in my hands... did not want to go for a click bait title and I have also the feeling the the S23 will give a serious fight... let`s see.
ATM the only worry I have is the Galaxy designed 8 Gen 2 in other words, Samsung Foundry could be doing the 8 Gen 2 for Europe and I am not sure if that`s good or not, i.e. they would go for a higher clock and etc, but the production yield of Sammy 8 gen 1 was a disaster... so I trimming down my hopes for now.

Checked again, no dedicated macro mode, but you can use the predefined lense setup in the portrait mode...
