I have a LP-100 now for a week and started to learn guitar-playing. Before I decided to buy it, I watched several reviews. Yours were the most helpful for me. Thanks a lot and Ha det bra!
you are lucky Uwe Born, me i been playing Guitar during my school time, i'm just using Generic Les Paul, i bought Epiphone Custom Last year from OL Shop, unfortunately i'm outside with friends when it Arrive at my door then my brother just Call me that he like it, when i got home there's a note on my door he said "I LOVE YOU BRO"
I really feel lucky that SwedishGuitarNerd pointed me to the LP-100. A good guitar that is affordable too. But I would feel much luckier, If I was able to play half as good, as he can or e.g. the guy in the store. Long way to go. Take care!
Thanks man! It's really interesting to hear other people's experiences. Sometimes I might just have been lucky and got a good guitar when the rest of the same model are crap.
The LP-100 is basically the same guitar as the Special 2, but with slightly better hardware. The LP-100s I've tried seem to have had a bit more energy put into making them as well. To me they sound identical.
Hi, Thanks for all the time you invest reviewing all those guitars, it really makes it easier to pick onefor a beginner. I wanted to ask your opinion, I´m not sure if i should buy this guitar or a Yamaha Pacifica? Thanks again :)
If I had to choose between the two I would get the Yamaha. They are much more consistent when it comes to build quality and have better parts too. But then again I'm not a big fan of Les Pauls so I'm very subjective. Thanks a lot for the nice comment!
Thank you for watching! If those are the only bands you're looking to cover you should go with the LP-100 since for instance the GunsNRoses solos need a neck position (rythm) humbucker for those sweet Slash-tones.
hi man, i bought 1 guitar epiphone les paul 100 like you so i don't know why but i connect my guitar in the amplifier roland cube 15xl and i can't do it the effect tell me I need to change the strings...??? or the cable that goes from the guitar to the amplifier...??
I am basically a ' Fender Guy' (Stratocaster & Telecaster), but I tried this model at a local guitar store and came away pretty impressed for a guitar in this price range. It sounded good, was very playable & the tuners are actually pretty good. I think you could do a lot worse for a guitar in the $250 - $300 (US) price range. I'm glad to see you liked it as well.
moondiggitydawg Yes it is completely crazy that you can make a working guitar for that kind of money. I guess the salaries are rather bad over in China/Indonesia?
I use an ibanez grg 170dx and a fender champion 20 amp and i want to buy a new guitar.......if i get lp100 will it sound good with my amp??? Btw-awesome review sir!!!!!
Thanks for the kind words! The Champion can compensate for some of the brightness that the LP100 lacks, so I'm sure you'll be able to get some great tones out of it!
I got this guitar about a year ago when I decided to start playing. I very much like it but as I am progressing I'm finding the pick ups not so much to my liking. At first I thought it was just me so I am glad you feel similarly about them. What pickup combination would you like to see in this guitar? I have heard Jazz (SH2) / JB (SH4) combo and 59 (SH1) / JB (SH4) combo on les pauls and like them a lot. I am looking for something versatile but that I can push into heavy rock / metal. Thanks!
I'm sure both the JB/Jazz (these were some of the first pickups the Seymour designed and they were made to match each other) and the JB/59 will be great. Maybe even something a bit more out of the ordinary like a Custom 5 in the bridge and a Phat Cat in the neck position? :)
No there's no battery in this one. That's only if the guitar has active pickups (normally of the brand EMG) or some kind of preamp.Very few guitars have that so it's just plug and play :)
This one. Epiphones Special models all have horrible tuners and it obvious that they didn't spend as much time getting the details like fret ends right on them.
Hey, what is baisacly the differeces between this les paul 100 and g-310 SG? I mean is there any differences in sounds? or the build up of the guitar? like the thinnes of the nect, the places of the switches( that's obviously known to be exept the nect thing) or there is anything else? and which one is recommended and for what? thanks for the answer^^
sir , which is much better , the Epiphone Les Paul 100 or the Epiphone SG-310 ? I'm planning to buy a guitar and I'm a bit confussed of this two . please reply .
Hey man, what do you think is better, (I'm a beginner can only play some basics like smoke on the water intro and californiacation by Red hot Chilli Peppers), a epiphone sg-310 or this?
I don't now the exact weight, but it's a light guitar and it's nothing like a regular Les Paul. That's one of the good things about it :) Thanks a lot for the nice comment!
Oh my! Did it get worse during that time or was it horrible straight away? I only had this one for a day so I never got a chance to see how it changed over time.
Hi i think to buy one of the guitars one is Epiphon LP 100 and second is Ibanez IJRG200-BL way Ibanez? it has nice finish and also tremolo system (i don't know how this will work without lock system) did you have chance to play on this ibanez in the past ? tell me how was... Thank You all the best
I'd get the Ibanez. I haven't tried that exact model, but many in the same range. The tremolo will be horrible, but as long as you don't use it you'll be just fine.
with what kind of pickups would you recommend to replace the existing ones in the guitar? Would you suggest a more versatile solution? Please name the exact pickups you would like more for this guitar. thanks
A great upgrade would be Gibson pickups. A set of 490s or a 498T/496R combo will surely make this guitar sing. I usually rant a lot about Gibson but they make great pickups, I give them that.
Squier Affinity without a doubt! It's a MUCH better guitar. However, if you're after the fat sound of a humbucker, then the LP100 might suit you better. I prefer a bright and punchy tone.
Kartik Singh If I had to choose I'd get the G400 PRO. I prefer SGs since they are a bit more ergonomic. The body is more contoured and it's easier to reach the higher frets. On top of that the G400 PRO has some (by Epiphone's standards) really great-sounding pickups and the LP-100 really doesn't in my opinion.
You compared the neck to other guitars that I don't know anything about so what kind of finish is on the back? Is it like a satin or is it gloss like the rest of the guitar?
I'm planning to buy a new guitar within the price range of around 200 dollars, my first choice was an Epiphone Special 2, but I decided to push up the budget to get this guitar, should I rather get one of the Ibanez GRX models or for that matter, which guitar would you recommend?
Thank you for share your tips and knowwledge, you are very professional. so,I love to heard what do you recommend me as my first electric guitar between this epiphones: lp 100, the lp standard or lp traditional pro (2 last +$150 more than the lp100), I can wait a whyle before do a move for one of them. (blues/rock). regards.
Thanks for the kind words! If I had to choose between those guitars I'd go for the Traditional PRO. It has better parts than the LP100 and better Pickups than the LP Standard. You'll end up with a great guitar that won't need any upgrades and is good to go.
That's a hard question.. I have had nothing but bad experiences with Harley Benton gear. People tell me that they have improved their quality recently and I haven't tried any newer models.
Hey GuitarNerd!, I was watching this vid. because I can't choose between two guitars, one of this epiphone les paul 100, the other is an Ibanez GART60 BKN, bith of those guitars are almsot in the same price here, I jsut can't decoded that which one should i pick... perhaps can you recommend one of them?

Ok, so I guess my choices are the Epiphone LP Special 2 , or the Squier bullet stratocaster, what do you reckon? Note that I prefer the blues style sound so I will play more blues
He stops "bla bla" and starts playing at 6:48.
ok tnx
+Joseph Skledar kikikiki
Oh come on now, at least it's interesting bla bla.
I'm happy for you and I hope the guitar stays that way! Keep on playing!!
I have this guitar, and I do not regret purchasing this guitar! Awesome review.
Favian Villa Thanks! I'm happy for you!!

very good review man! keep up the good work. thanks, i'm thinking of getting this guitar.
Great review dude! It actually sounds pretty good.
Legolas Greenleaf Thanks a lot!
Man thanks for the great demo!
I like how you say "yeh" all the time and your matter of fact presentation is good. Thanks.
I'd love to! I will do that as soon as I can get a hold of one.
I ordered this guitar today and your Video made me not regret my decision thank you man
I hope it lives up to your expectations!!
Thank you!!
Yes I will definitely do a Mex Standard soon! First up is the Squier 50s classic vibe Strat.
Thank you for your advice !
That sounds just awesome!
Thanks for the suggestions and for the nice words. There might actually be a Epiphone Les Paul Studio demo coming up..
Of course! James is a genius! I really like his movie reviews as well. He has really taught me all about the horror genre.
Thanks man! It is really about time that I did an Ibanez review!!
I completely agree with the last part! Try them out. Only you know what's best for you.
Thanks man! It's really interesting to hear other people's experiences. Sometimes I might just have been lucky and got a good guitar when the rest of the same model are crap.
hey can u help me out? i'm trying to decide whether to get this epiphone LP100 or get the ibanez ARZ 300
Great! Yes I find the SG more playable as well.
Now that's a good sign! Get it!!
I will try my best! The classic vibe 50s has been high on my priority list since I started doing this.
The LP-100 is basically the same guitar as the Special 2, but with slightly better hardware. The LP-100s I've tried seem to have had a bit more energy put into making them as well. To me they sound identical.

which guitar is better greg benett avion av6 or epiphone lp 100?? pls help m confused between these two? wat should i buy?
I've been playing electroacoustic guitar for 2 Years, is that good first electric guitar for me? (sorry for bad eng)
Absolutely! It's a great guitar to start out with if you want to explore the electric side.
hi man, i bought 1 guitar epiphone les paul 100 like you so i don't know why but i connect my guitar in the amplifier roland cube 15xl and i can't do it the effect tell me I need to change the strings...??? or the cable that goes from the guitar to the amplifier...??

moondiggitydawg Yes it is completely crazy that you can make a working guitar for that kind of money. I guess the salaries are rather bad over in China/Indonesia?
SwedishGuitarNerd salaries here in Asia are generally lower than there in Europe (and America), but cost of living is also lower.
How are the conditions at the factories? How many hours a day/days a week do you work? Are you allowed to have unions?
SwedishGuitarNerd I don't work there so no first hand info but from what I know its like any typical 9-5 job
thnx!.. i already have the lp 100... the pick ups are fine... but i like jimmy page sound.. so what should i do... should i change my pick ups.. ???
Decideing between the Epiphone LP100 (250$) or a squire Affinity Tele (180$). What would you recomend ?
is this any good for recording?? what are its major defects??
I'm interested in playing alternative rock, will this guitar be good for playing that?
Yes it is. The pickups are high output so it's easy to get crunchy sounds.
I'm not really sure I understand the question? Thickness? Distance between frets? Access to the fretboard?
I'm currently trying to decide between this guitar and a squier affinity strat. Which would you recommend?
The Squier is much better guitar with better parts, materials and attention to detail.
SwedishGuitarNerd
Hey, thanks for replying. I think I'll go for the strat.
Awesome!!

I'm new to guitars.. Do you have to replace a battery for this specific guitar... I know for some you have to but I'm not sure about this one...
No there's no battery in this one. That's only if the guitar has active pickups (normally of the brand EMG) or some kind of preamp.Very few guitars have that so it's just plug and play :)
I'll try my best!
Wich one do you think is better for a first electric guitar? Epiphone sg special or this one?
This one. Epiphones Special models all have horrible tuners and it obvious that they didn't spend as much time getting the details like fret ends right on them.

go for the one you like more. i cant decide between the two either
Awesome!
Hey man, what do you think is better, (I'm a beginner can only play some basics like smoke on the water intro and californiacation by Red hot Chilli Peppers), a epiphone sg-310 or this?
I'd get the G-310 since it's more ergonomic to play. They sound the same though.
Would this sound alright for punk if I were to maybe hook a distortion pedal up to it?
which one do you recommend, this epiphone LP-100 or the LP-standard ??
i'm going to change the puck ups in my lp100, ¿any recommendation?
Elton González Some Gibson pickups maybe? :) 498s are great!
how well does this guitar work for picking harmonics?
Which one is better for a beginner the lp 100 or the lp special 2 i don't know which to get because I like them both
They are very much the same guitar. The LP-100 has better parts and has been built with a bit more attention to detail so I recommend that one.
I'm thinking of getting my 2nd guitar, my first is a Dean VX. Between the Epiphone LP-100 and the Epiphone Vintage SG-400, what would you recommend?
I'd get the one that feels the best. They are rather similar guitars. The LP-100 has a bolt-on neck and that's a great thing though.
Hi nice video, one question...how much does an epiphone les paul 100 weight?
I don't now the exact weight, but it's a light guitar and it's nothing like a regular Les Paul. That's one of the good things about it :) Thanks a lot for the nice comment!
Which would you recommend the Epiphone LP100 or Greg Bennett AV3??
Oh my! Did it get worse during that time or was it horrible straight away? I only had this one for a day so I never got a chance to see how it changed over time.
Which guitar is better the epiphone LP 100 or BC rich virgin ?
is the sustain good on this guitar? and is the playability okay?
is it smaller than the les paul studio, LP standard and the LP junior?
I have no idea since I haven't tried any BC Rich Virgins. What version of it are you thinking of?
comparing this to Ibanez GRG250DXB, so im just wondering which one you would recommend from personal openion
is it worth buying this one or would it be better to buy special 2??
Is there any differences between the Ebony and the Heritage CherrySunburst ?
I have one of these I love it
and which would you prefer? Lp jr, lp 100, or SG??
And also is the top raised like the higher end les Paul's?
Exactly :) It's not as dramatic as on a regular Les Paul though.
Thank you
Also how good is a Aria Mac Std for a beginner , are they any good , very few reviews available for it.
please tell me that the guitar in the background? akustic
Which is better the special II or this? (les paul 100)
do you think this is the best guitar for semi-pro ?
would you recommend this guitar over an Epi SG? Im in the middle of choosing between the LP100 and Epi Sg. thanks!
with what kind of pickups would you recommend to replace the existing ones in the guitar? Would you suggest a more versatile solution? Please name the exact pickups you would like more for this guitar.
thanks
A great upgrade would be Gibson pickups. A set of 490s or a 498T/496R combo will surely make this guitar sing. I usually rant a lot about Gibson but they make great pickups, I give them that.
thanks for the reply.
How do you like the bridge and the tail? Would you like to replace them with original Gibson parts?
No I actually think that the ones on the Epiphone are better! :)
Hi there, do you think the LP 100 worth paying the extra over the Special ii? for guy who is absolutely beginner ?
Thanks a bunch :)
which should i go For squier affinity tele or this ???
Squier Affinity without a doubt! It's a MUCH better guitar. However, if you're after the fat sound of a humbucker, then the LP100 might suit you better. I prefer a bright and punchy tone.
Im a beginner and considering an electric switch from acoustic. I mainly practice the blues, how is this guitar for that genre?
Do you recommend this as the first electric guitar. and this is the guitar on which i can play metal ?
Yes I agree with ddlz60. Get this one. I think it's even better than the Standard in some ways.
sweedish guitar nerd Im getting either this or an sg g400. Really confused. Which one should I get
Kartik Singh If I had to choose I'd get the G400 PRO. I prefer SGs since they are a bit more ergonomic. The body is more contoured and it's easier to reach the higher frets. On top of that the G400 PRO has some (by Epiphone's standards) really great-sounding pickups and the LP-100 really doesn't in my opinion.
If I could ever get my hands on one. Haven't seen any of those in my part of the world.
You compared the neck to other guitars that I don't know anything about so what kind of finish is on the back? Is it like a satin or is it gloss like the rest of the guitar?
It's gloss
Sorry about that! It's glossy and shiny on the LP-100. When you play the warmth and sweat from your hands makes it a bit sticky.

I don't understand what you mean with "the action is really low" at 8:55 can you explain me please? I'm a beginner and I don't know those names.
This or Stagg L400 ? which is a better one for a beginner.
kinda talk like pewdiepie and nice vid
+SmileMore :) Haha! Thanks!
a pewdiepie with slower talking style and more native accent
I have one and honestly I quite like it.
Let noone say that you're wrong!
Skulle du rekommendera Burstbucker Pro mickar i så fall?
should I pick the lp-100 or the sg g-310?
Pieter Haenen Apparently the G-310 is discontinued for reasons unknown to me. I'd get one used!
should I get this or the Harley Benton SC-Custom?
That's a hard question.. I have had nothing but bad experiences with Harley Benton gear. People tell me that they have improved their quality recently and I haven't tried any newer models.
is this has a same sound like the special II ?
+Daffa Auliya Yes they sound pretty much identical.
Which is better, Epiphone Les Paul LP 100 or Epiphone Les Paul Special 2?
is it good for blues..and blues rock?
Hey GuitarNerd!, I was watching this vid. because I can't choose between two guitars, one of this epiphone les paul 100, the other is an Ibanez GART60 BKN, bith of those guitars are almsot in the same price here, I jsut can't decoded that which one should i pick... perhaps can you recommend one of them?
Thank you Matt for such prompt replies. I have seen all your guitar reviews , you play really well. Another guitar recommended by many is the Greg Bennett Avion AV3 , would like to know your opinion on this. I'm buying my first guitar this weekend , just not sure what to get.
you made fantastic review my friend, I wonder if i can ask you a question: in your opinion what is better an hagstrom swede or an epiphone?
cheers, mate, and keep rocking!
is this better than the cort cr200? plz reply
No the Cort has much better parts and they usually make guitars that are of higher quality than other brands in the same price range.
Thanks for the comment! Yes some Epis sure are better than "real" Gibsons.
Fret buzz can sometimes be caused my bad construction and then you can spend all the time you want adjusting it without curing it.
Ok, so I guess my choices are the Epiphone LP Special 2 , or the Squier bullet stratocaster, what do you reckon? Note that I prefer the blues style sound so I will play more blues
