Man, that was a GREAT video. Thank you Sir.
Only your method worked bro thank you
Excellent and very helpful presentation. Thank you!
Bitlocker is available on windows 11pro...not in home version.
Thank you for your effort!
I just have 1 important question, if I encrypted using "New encryption mode", and used that drive later on an older Windows version on another machine, and since it's not supported on older versions, will the drive open normally without BitLocker at all? or is it actually won't be able to unlock at all?
Excelente video 👍 Una pregunta? En mí caso, al tener bitloker activado en cifrado mi ssd externo y usb, puede fallar al conectar a otra lapto que tenga tpm, windows 11pro. Porque mi lapto no tiene tpm, pero tengo Bitlocker.
Whenever I click "Turn on BitLocker" on my removable USB Drive it goes to the Control Panel>Device Encryption, but I only see the Operating System Drive and the option to backup my recovery key and that's it. I also noticed his says BitLocker Device Encryption where mine only says Device Encryption. Any suggestions?
*Edit*
I just now found out that BitLocker is not supported by Windows 11 Home, I only have the light version Device Encryption. Is there another way to encrypt my USB Drive?
Great video. But how to enable SED that is hardware based in the SSD itself?
Thanks for sharing this
I am able to see the backup recovery key option only in the device encryption in control panel.
how can I disable the bitlocker encryption for my drives(C, D). can you plz help on this?
I am using the windows11 home version
Question, I upgraded from win 10 to 11 - I had important encrypted file in win 10, can not access them ,I still have old win 10 and the users - is there a way to log in and open any encrypted file in win 10??
Hello, should I use New Encryption method or Compatible Encryption? Tq.

any idea why in the control panel > device encryption window its only showing the OS windows C drive ? and not the removable or virtual disks? I am trying to turn on bitlocker for removable drives.

Good Video
Hello, when I enable Bitlocker on my drive with my microsft account. If I creae a Local account can I acces to this drive ? Thanks
im unable to see turn off bitlocker option, only recovery key option available?
Why does it say that for your security some settings are managed by your system administrator. When you enable it as the admin?
it show the error failed to open the control panel tool. and shows some error code... plzz help..

@@asherdog9248 moral of the video : if you don't have windows 11 pro version then you can't do it
How can I fix this? failed to open bitlocker control panel tool error code 0x80004005
You are unable to open the bitlocker in the home edition of windows 11. Please check your computer model.
Tried to turn on BL for my E-Drive external drive, but when clicking "turn on Bitlocker" it just takes me to C-drive? it stops showing the E-Drive in the list 🙃
Hi! I have 'windows 11 home single language' it does not support for bitloker option. Any other way to encrypt the drive please?
Use an external one.. VeraCrypt is a good one
Does having bitlocker enabled on C drive effect on the computer's performance ?
Yes. Massively on low end pc. And a bit on high end pc.
Hello i need help, I tried to encrypt my USB using these steps but after i click the "Turn-on BitLocker" i cannot see the removable data drives i can only see the operating system and nothing more ... Please acknowledge my concern :((
Same here! :(
Hi there, Just now i learned that in order to encrypt removable drives we need to have Windows Premium verson. On Windows light we can encrypt only PC fixed drives...that's the reason. You can "Wise folder hider" as an alternative for that...:)
@@Niru4luv hello thank you for the informations... Can we put password on wise folder hider?
@@staycylougene4678 Yes, you can hide and put password as well! Just now i tried it out with my USB and it is working like charm. Here on youtube there are bunch of tutorials to get familiar with, go check it out! :)
@@Niru4luv ohh Thank you sooo much for this!! 💗
Is there any problem if I don't give the fixed data drive any password and only select unlock with this computer?
that's how I have set up my extra fixed drives. They automatically unlock/decrypt with the system drive.
Why the hell you cannot use a complex password to encrypt the operating system boot partition? In window 10 it was possibile. Why cannot do that in windows 11?
Ok but this is software encryption, what about hardware based SSD encryption?
there should be an option to password protect folders
You can choose to encrypt just a folder and only the logged in user can access it.
@@AdamsTaiwan how
@@blackpinkmedia Right click on a folder, select properties, click Advance button on the General tab, check "Encrypt contents to secure data".
Also, you should turn on view options for viewing the Encrypted folders as green.
@@AdamsTaiwan thank you!
I don't understand something - I encrypted external disk with bitlocker and it is indeed protected after rebooting, but if I want to protect it again, without rebooting - is there no such option? odd...
I got Failed to open bitlocker control panel tool. error
If you don't share details, no one will be able to help.
i absolutely hate this new update, it won’t let me use my computer and it won’t let me turn it off it’s so annoying, i didn’t even have a code for it
With windows 11 home edition, you can't encrypt any other drives besides the OS (C:) drive. Windows charges for the upgrade to Pro. It's ALL ABOUT THE MONEY....damn rip-offs !!!!!
So, there's no way to encrypt them now? I deencrypted a partition previously, and now in the drive encryption in control panel, i couldn't find this partition when i wanted to encrypt it again, but other untouched partitions are still shown there
it doesn't work your video for windows 11 Home bro
Exactly, as the video says, Home doesn't have this feature. If the computer has TPM, you can use the light version of BitLocker, which is called Device encryption. The video mentions all this. Thanks,
you didnt show how to use this. where is what happens if you constantly use the drive copy paste things in windows? you just cut whole the process. 5/10
What do you mean by copying and pasting things constantly?
Save to a Microsoft account, really who uses Microsoft account and for god sake, why?
🙄
Why not?
Pov: you don't have windows 11 pro
(Just like me)
Get folder lock software. It works great as well
Pls help (FAILED TO OPEN THE BITLOCKER CONTROL PANEL TOOL ERROR CODE 0X80004005)
