  • This turned out to be an interesting dive into ISRO in how it relates to Indian politics, citizens and it's relationship and ranking amongst other space agencies, as well as what possibilities the future holds. And as per usual, we give our reaction and thoughts!

@velichayshiy lider oh bhai... Sabhi nhi hote uss hadd tak jis hadd tak America hai....... India ne shirf apne benefit ke liye Russia ko support nhi kiya hai.... Benefit hai lekin Russia se ek emotional connection bhi hai India ka..... Agar Russia 1971 ke war mein nhi hota toh aaj India gaya rehta......
Sab country apna faida toh dekhenge, no doubt.... Par India jaisi kuch country hai jo harr time bina apna faida dekhe bhi kaam karti hai.... ...
Saala jahan jung ki koi situation nhi hoti wahan bhi jung lagwa deta hai. 😂😂
So to some extent every country See's it's benefit but America is at top in this list & India is one of the bottom countries in that list.......

CIA tried its best in the past to stop ISRO, as we saw in the movie Rocketry:the Nambi effect, but couldn't.
ISRO destroyed nasa's monopoly, most countries are approaching India for their satellites ... Even china and Russia's space program is way better than Nasa. 🤣 India is planning its own space station, hope that will be a huge success. Tables have turned...

I remember watching this Bloomberg video, and leaving a comment there at 14:30: In Dec 2021, India had 86.9 million people in poverty (not upwards of 360, as this report casually claims with no sources cited). That is approx. 6% of the Indian population. The same year, USA had 53.59 million people in poverty ... which is 16.1% of the US population in 2021. These media outlets show the slums in India to distract their domestic audience from their own domestic reality.
This is why most Indians don't take US (and most European) liberal media seriously. They sprinkle generous amounts of misinformation when talking about anything Indian.

    Isro's core ideology
**"Vision Harness space technology for national development, while pursuing space science research and planetary exploration."**
So it's focused rather on cost effective and few but high success rate missions than just going all in like space gaints Nasa and China and Russia .
India is still as many Say a young economy which is one verge of going up and overtaking few of developed countries economy while at the same time strategically battling its inner problems .

While comparing NASA's and India's Mars missions, we should also look at what the scientific output was from both those missions. Mangalyaan, although, is a great achievement for ISRO, hasn't produced the quality of data that we got from NASA. There are ~30 peer-reviewed papers published from the Mangalyaan mission. Whereas, data from NASA's MAEVEN mission has more than 500 peer-reviewed papers published. Of the 30 papers published with Mangalyaan, about half of them were on the engineering aspects of the mission rather than on the scientific ones.

However, it is technically worth not.that much, since you will have to take those resources from these astroids to planet surface which is pretty hard to do at scale. ISRO also has to spend money on Scientists and Engineers those who are working on the mission. I am dam sure that nearly 20-30% of the budget of the mission is gone in paying these people

We should not increase space budget but instead help the private sector in it. Our country needs more funds in other sectors, in education in healthcare and in research. Only after that we should increase space budget. Uptil now our scientists have done a wonderful job with the capital they have been provided

Technology improvement helps the overall population. Internet came out of DARPA's research. Many technologies which are today lifelines came out of the space research innovations and scientific discoveries. So, unless the % is too huge of the overall budget, it's alright. And it's alright to care too, but the people who are left behind are not because of space missions but the lack of empathy and fraternity among human beings. And this has increased further due to the society equating success and greatness with making money alone. Materialism has been promoted too much, by both Left and Right wing of the modern times.
Time for ancient wisdom to shine and show the way!

I think you have a valid point. While space ventures take people forward whike it leaves a lot of people behind. This is a paradox.
I have seen videos of poverty in USA's mega cities.(I have seen it first hand on one day). Ther are homeless people in India but small homes are being given away free of cost; eg:States of AP and Telangana have given away hundreds of thousands of homes free to the poor and these are ongoing programs. Telangana State is currently giving away two bedroom homes . Those programs, as I see, are helping more people than the programs run by some wealthy cities of America.
India is not a rich nation in dollar terms, but India cares more effectively for it's people .

Now ISRO is getting less budget but still they are willing to do it , gradually when economy us increasing the budget will also increase and now Private firms are also supported by govt initially, so to establish themselves govt is supporting and ISRO providing scientists too. When innovation and Research will be done then many things can ve solved
