Three of us live in a 2BR apartment. I craft on my kitchen table. I sort fake flowers by season ( they take up lots of room and are on high shelves). Ribbon is on
flat cardboard in 2 square plastic boxes. Paints and brushes are in one bin. Fabric is in a heavy plastic bag. Yarn is in a heavy plastic bag. Paper is sorted by type in 2 bins. Beads are in a latching plastic bin. Sewing and crochet tools and thread are in a latching plastic bin. Paper crafting tools are in a small toolbox.
I try to sort supplies and declutter on a regular basis. I never "stock up" because themes and colors change. A shade of pink yarn from one year won't match another. Tina, Al's wife
Sounds like you have your system down! 👏
Love the ‘reset’ observation. I am guilty sometimes of preferring to keep things in my small space neat and organized to the detriment of engaging in the creative process. Visual clutter can be a stumbling block
Loved this! I keep wanting to try new crafting mediums, but always end up with a disaster of a craft room because I never put any of it away. Like you said, it makes it difficult to want to start a new project. Thanks for inspiring me to get organized and enjoy my craft space again!
That's awesome to hear! I know you can do it!
So glad I found you!
Me too!!
Thank you for sharing your tips! I would love to tour your studio and see how you organize your materials in the space you have.
I am doing a giant clean out this month and bringing everyone along for my process.
You are so right, one size never fits all. I am forever reorganizing and resetting. My style and projects change as do the supplies and organizer options. I know some people who have everything in a pretty display style of organization but I need quick access and if I cant see it I wont remeber I have it. I love to see other peoples organization and hear their ideas.
Yes! I am so visual as well! The biggest way I keep from getting overwhelmed by seeing too much is organizing items in zones and how I am most likely to use them.
Excellent! I WANT the turquoise and gold paper with positive and negative branches! 😂
Those are some precious scraps I hope to find more!
I would love to see more, please 😄
I actually put a 10 minute timer on to clean up after creating four cards. It took less than 8 minutes. It's a new habit for me.
Resetting has been a game changer for me, too! Love the timer idea!
Thank you! This helped. I tore up my craft room again. It’s just not working. Thanks, treen 💕💕💕💕
It is a process for sure! Hang in there!
Love your tips and look forward to seeing more videos from you. I'm always trying to figure out a home for my craft "toys"--and then trying to put things away when I'm done playing for the day but most often do not. It's an ongoing battle, LOL.
Thank you! I am sharing my zone organization system soon! It may help you reset faster.
These were great tips. I would love to see more about how you manage supplies.
Coming soon! Thanks for your comment!
Me too
I get lots of supplies free. My tip is to give away supplies you haven't used or won't use in a period of time- like 6 months or one year. I'm in a small space. Tina,
Al's wife
That is very doable. Love it!
I just subscribed, you are singing my song.. How you gather and sort and store your supplies is AMAZING!! Thank. You. I will be watching this again. And other videos as well.
So glad it helped! Excited to have you along for this journey.
Thank you! Your tips helped me in more ways than one. And downsizing was a task of its own for me. Great video!!!
Glad to help! More downsizing tips to come!
Thank you! I need all the help I an get for organizing..lol
You and me both!
Would love to see a craft space tour. I also have a very small space for my crafts; part of a dining room table and corner of my dining room since I live in a small 1-bedroom apartment (and envy those with craft ROOMS!)
Multi-use spaces will be addressed in the zone videos! My zone system came from having a small space, so you are in the right place:)
I would love a zone video or even a whole room tour. I just subbed your channel.
This was so helpful!!! I need to purge and reorganize my space.
It can set you free!
Thank you so much! I need this! ❤
You're so welcome! Glad you are here!
GREAT VIDEO! GREAT TIPS!
Thanks! Glad it helped!
The tips themselves are not entirely new to me, but your terminology provides new visualization which is helpful. As far as what I consider ‘key’ by way of organizing craft supplies? Learn your personal style. What looks great and works for others may truly be a great idea, a great container, a great system, etc. but if incompatible with the way you think and function, it will never feel quite right and will impede your creativity.
So very true! One size never fits all.
I would love videos on sorting and organizing. My craft room has barely a walkway since it's so full of everyone else's junk. It's become a junk room. Please help! I love this video it's so helpful for me. I can't wait to see what is next!
I feel you. Maintaining a space that is functional and a pleasure to work in is so important. My next video is about purging excess! Hope it helps.
@@mixedmediaheadquarters I can't wait!
New subscriber. Great tips.
Welcome! Glad to hear. More coming soon!
Very helpful tips. I am a papercrafter and would love to see how you organize your materials.
I'll keep sharing!
I think I need more explanation of "reset". What does that mean and what does it look like?
I was wondering the same thing.
That sounds like a video I will need to do. Thanks for the suggestion!
Hi new subscriber!! Im looking to organize my craft room so I've been watching a lot of videos. I have a lot of ribbons so I found someone who takes it off the roll and put on a piece of cardboard and then didn't know what to do, so after watching someone else I am going to be putting them in shoes containers made of fabric from dollar tree. Hopefully it works out. Seems to be so far. Thanks for your ideas and definitely keep them coming. Also if you know where you got your containers from can also help if you can. Thank you!!❤
Welcome, and thanks for sharing your ideas in the community! Which containers are you referring to? I'll try and remember where I got them:)
@@mixedmediaheadquarters round clear, but looks big. I think you have little Christmas trees in them and more but that's all I can remember.
@rachellarsen939 I actually ordered those from Uline in larger quantities to create kits for my retail store. I should probably include some in my prize basket for Facebook lives!
I'd like to see your video that you have decided to do.
It has turned into a bit of a series. I am currently a solo act, so thanks for your patience🤓 Next organization video is coming Sunday!
New subscriber. Interested to learn more please. 😍
Yes, tell about your zones, please.
Coming soon! I have one more video about supplies and then we will dive into the zones!
Tour please
Coming soon!!
Inspire me to purge please
I have found it is an ongoing process!
If this is organized, I’d hate to see what disorganized means in your world. A million boxes to hide the clutter is not organized.
You do you boo.... Some of us like to keep things separated - just saying
Lol! Yes! My studio is so very small. i have to use all of my vertical space for storage, along with table space. I am also very visual and like to see the supplies I have to work with. I have friends who can not even walk into my studio space without getting anxious. But, this is organized for me. Hope we can still be friends!
@deniseharris6515 so true! I have yet to find a one size fits all anything. This is what works for my ADHD brain. I am certain it would not work for everyone. Hopefully, it will help a few.
Whoa! Your Mama never taught you if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.
Besides Joyce- who gives you the right to judge her space, creativity, style and organization?? 🙏🏻✝️❤️😀
