  • In this episode, I test drive the trailer with the buggy loaded inside. I build a front tool box, as well as finish the interior cabinets.

    Watched all 8 episodes. Loved it! wish I had your skills, I would have like to see a cost breakdown and a blueprint.

    This is a nice trailer man, as a welder i've been thinking about building my own enclosed tool trailer. You have a lot of good ideas that got me thinking, good job. 👍

    Great video. We manufacture boat trailers and starting a big stacker trailer build this week. Great job.

      @@rgsabat curios I beam vs Square tube for main frame in your opinion. We’re going with 2x8 and not sure 1/8 or 3/16” yet

    • @rgsabat
      @rgsabat  Před 2 lety +2

      @@RaceMentally It depends on the length of the trailer, I beam is good for longer trailers (24 ft plus). I like to use the c-channel for trailers shorter than 24 ft because the c-channel is shaped in a way to maximize the strength of the beam in the direction of the load (vertical axis). Nothing wrong with using rectangular tube, as long as it is thick enough. Hard for me to advise you on 1/8 or 3/16 for the 2x8 rect tubing, it all depends on the length and expected weight capacity, the 3/16" wall will add significant weight.

      @@rgsabat drawing up plans today but 34’-36’ overall V nose and 13’9” tall overall. Walls most likely 2x2 .120. Buddy of mine had one built and basically going to copy it. It’ll have 3 8k-10k axles under it.

    Can you estimate time spent and cost of materials?

    • @rgsabat
      @rgsabat  Před 3 lety +1

      I put a cost break down in the comments of one of the episodes. I spend 2 months working on the trailer..

  • @reyesracing24
    @reyesracing24 Před 2 lety

    Could you show the trim you used on the outside corners of the trailer? Also how does the alluminum seal on the sides or does water not get in once its all bolted together to the steel beams that you used as the frame.....

    • @rgsabat
      @rgsabat  Před 2 lety

      The trim is 1.5" x 0.125" aluminum angle. The side aluminum sheets could get water in, but I don't care, I pressure wash the trailer inside regularly. If I cared about water not entering, I would caulk or seal the side wall sheets.

    How much did this save over buying one

    • @rgsabat
      @rgsabat  Před 3 lety

      The trailer? Probably a few grand, but more importantly for me is that no one makes a trailer like this for my specific needs, like drive over fenders for my wide-axle off-road machine and also able to safely carry 7-8000 lbs of cargo.

    Are you kidding? All that build up and you don't show the buggy driving into it???

    • @rgsabat

      All you have to do is look at the other videos on my channel and you will see lots of videos of my buggy.
