- Continuing the 1951 Chevy Budget Rat Truck build, I recycle some sheet metal from an old Nissan door and hood to build a custom rear panel which also functions as an unusual spare wheel cover.

The way you use the best & worst of old vehicle panels to make a custom vehicle is an inspiration to all.
A true Artform
Thankyou Diff👍
Thanks Bruce. Glad you like
Love watching your work Div. It's the ultimate counterpoint to the high dollar catalogue raiding and assembly videos that are much more typical. That bakkie has so much detail and interest that a person could check it out for an hour and not quit get what has gone into it.
Thanks brother! Yes man, my mission to show that you dont need catalogues and dollars to build some fun stuff
This guy is awesome! Love his sense of humor and vision!
That box looks sharp! My father did up a S10 and had similar taillights molded into his box and a roll pan too. For the front end he had a chopped 61 Apache front grille and headlight bezels. You remind me of him. It’s hard to come by creative people like you and him anymore.
I really like the way the rear fenders turned out. Better then the original
Thanks man! Yeah, very happy with them. Also think the nicer than the original "boxy" ones.
Cool Duff little beer table as a tyer cover. You can sit in your thinking chair with a cold one 🍺 thanks for sharing all you hard work.
Thats a function I didnt think about!😂
That's nice Div, also don't forget the nissan window winders can be fairly easily adapted to fit your truck.
I like the way you built that we're renting that truck
Very impressed. Design, fabrication , execution, all fantastic.
Thanks brother!
Another nice piece of workman ship
Thank you!
Always a good time seeing what you come up with and how you do it...
Thanks man!
Awesome! The thinking chair worked, you took a huge ugly opening and made it look much better.
Thanks man!
I really like this truck a lot!
Like the tail pan with rounded piece for your spare tire.
''boy you are so lucky to have the supply of parts just laying out in the woods. Over here the junk dealers would have all those part taken to the recycling.
A great Rat rod build! Your spare tire is your bumper. Hey, your saying at the end of the video: Have a lukka-one. That's a new one for me...Does it mean, "Have a lucky one?"
Thanks Matthew! "Lekka" is a South African slang word that means cool or great or nice. Have a lekka one!😅
Your creativity is inspiring. Frankentruck is coming together nicely.
Very happy if I can inspire man!
It's looking better and better. Groovy Man !
Cool addition to the already cool truck
Thanks Tommy
Really like that 51 Chevy truck it’s excellent and so’s your work!
Thanks 👍
That is a great look and yes the yellow breaks it up .... Build On
Thanks brother. I also kinda like the yellow
Beautiful design and execution! You have amazing talent! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Ray!
Looks good 👍
Love your work
Accuracy, symmetry equals beauty, awesome man.
Thanks Steve!
I love the truck , awesome job.
I love the whole bulild and I learned so much about doing a roof chop. Your channel has been so enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. 👍👌👏
Awesome! Thank you!
I love it. Cheers from Alaska. A twist on the continental kit.
Thanks man! Jeez, Alaska is a LONG way from me!😅
I love it. And if I wind up behind it, I WILL know EXACTLY what it is! That would be pretty cool. 😊👍👍
Thanks man!😀
Love it Div! Looks awesome!
Liking the recycled Nissan parts Duff.
Cool tire cover
Glad you liked it
Love it !
every one needs color in their life , nice job ! Maan !
Yeah man! Thanks
I am about to build one similar to my flat bed dump 1974 gmc 3500 dually . I got the right junk. You encouraged me more to go this way. Insurance doesn't need to know my truck dump's. Will be just a regular pickup truck . Thanks for sharing
Do it man!😅
Brilliant work👍
Thanks buddy!
I love it diff
Totally cool. Like it alot! 👍
Very cool truck!
Thank you Randall!
Really cool project.

Glad you like it! Thanks bro.
Love what your doing
Thanks Jim
Looking good 👌👌👌
Dankie Gerhard!
dig ya work Dif..make it look so easy
Thanks Rob!
l am liking this build .
i think that tire there is a stroke genius its the perfect bumper and somewhere to keep your spare wheel and i actully like the look of it too. but id build a shelf for it as that chain is a faff and a number plate wrapping around that curve would look amazing
Great work !!!!!
Thanks brother!
Now she looks like a proper truck.
Looking fantastic!
Thank you.
Glad you like it! Thanks man!
We are getting there guys and girls ..give Dif a mention on your other channels to get a few more over help the guy out .sweet👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺

Your Nissfordolet is coming right on along.
Interesting name you dreamt up!👍
@@ratrodsafrica Thank you
Yep, it's just what the doctor ordered, a little shape is alot of interest, nice work 👍
We like curvy shapes...😂 Thanks boet!
@@ratrodsafrica ohhhh yeah 😉 😜
Looks good Diff. Great job. Well you got a step up to get in the bed anyways. Lol Maybe needs some Expanded metal on it. None slip. But one thing did cross my mind that it is one big sail panel and the tail Gate. Cutting down your MPGs. .maybe needs some speed holes. Or luvers. But the flat continental kit works great. Truck coming along nicely. Needs some grab handles on top of bed. I mounted a boot spoiler on the cab roof once. Looked good. You could hold on to it standing in the bed. And I stuck the truck in a ditch and Tboned the front bumper. So I got some treated 8inch by 8 Inch wooden post and made a front bumper..polished the edges and varnished it..they all laffed but it grew on them fast. Lol. Have a good day Diff. Good luck. Lekka Man. Not Arrrrrr Kak Man..lol. Adios. Dino
Thanks man. Yes, maybe speed holes...or something... let's see...
Brilliant as usual. I think the thinking chair was invited late to the party, you had already solved it in your partnership with the envisioning tool and it got jealous and didn't want to come out to play.
Haha, think you might be right😂
good work you make it look easy.. A+ show
I really like your style. From Colorado USA.
Thank you very much! Howzit to Colorado!
i like it ,, im starting some body work on my truck , stay safe my friend
Good luck with the body work!
You make great videos, Thank You
Thanks Gary!
Well done Div on reaching 5000 subscribers..
woohooo!! 🥳 🥳
Thanks babes! And thanks for the support and putting up with me 😅
LOVE IT
Glad you like it!
Greeting from Kentucky
Hello Chis from Kentucky!
You got the tailgate sorted, like the spare wheel compartment, could also serve as a step to get into your bed. Like your reference to Ian Russell and his envisioning tool, he's got some great ideas for making stuff fit.
I hear some sort of a bird noise sometimes, I suppose it's your local crow.
Getting there! The bird is called a Hadeda. Lots of them here.
Great idea for steering wheel Truck is looking good
Thanks 👍
Hell yeah my brother!! Good job
Thanks brother!
Absolutely loving this build love the recycling
I myself are building 1954 R110 International truck
Thank you! Good luck with your build.
GREAT RECYCLING , love your work Diff....Ass end looks TUFF....... have a LAKKA ONE BRO !!!!
Thanks brother! Love to repurpose stuff.
America calling... Have a hard time understanding some of your words but I do understand what I see and like the way you use the junk to make a prize... You make me see how much I can save by getting a little more dirty too... Love what you do...
Thanks Jerry from America! Yes, sorry my English not the best, its not my mother tongue...
Love your work from the usa
Thank you!
Great job! Another 👍🏻👍🏻 from me.
You may want to brace it some more. I can see someone using that as a step.
Thanks man. Yes, I also started seeing the step thing...😅
Get yourself a foam exercise mat to lay on, and to help with your knees ⚡️
It's coming along nicely. Another great video 👍👍🇨🇱
Thank you!
I like it!
Glad you do!😀
Looking good, spare wheel panel looks great .👍
Thanks Chris
Very unique ! Reminds me of a "continental kit". Like that you left the plug welds visible. Again , a tremendous amount of work that was made to look easy. Love It !
Thanks my friend across the pond. I'm learning something here - a few people are referring to "Continental kit". No idea what that is, but Google is your friend😅
Awesome
Thanks!
If you put a piano hinge along the top and 2 barrel bolts at the bottom you can make that panel swing up and you could make it stay up with gas struts, this way it would be easy to drop your spare.
That could also work yes.
It's looking great, definitely different, but looking good, all the best to you and your loved ones, have a Lekka one
Thanks boet. Want something different man😅
@@ratrodsafrica on to the Buick 😅
Boet!!! Its great how you capture your brainstorming and planning sessions in the video for us to see how your ideas progress and evolve from start to finish product!!!
Glad you enjoyed it Dusty! CZcams tells me you are one of my top commenters! Thanks for the support boet!
@@ratrodsafrica thats awesome!!!! I been busy lately with the 240z but Im trying to stay caught up on your videos and keep supporting!!
Chevy, Ford, Beetle, Nissan, OH MY....
I THINK ITS A COOL TRUCK DIV...
Thanks brother!
love it
Thanks!
Love your approach man! My kinda dude!
Thanks bro!
Cool man
I kind of like the yellow bump-out, it grows on you. And after it "rusts up" a bit, it will kind of look like a safety yellow feature, Lol.
Thats what I've also been thinking! Lets see how it turns out. Easy to take off if I dont like it later on😅
Good job, again Man! That’s turning into a pretty amazing build.
Thanks brother!
Really enjoy your metal working skills !!! And very good content 👌
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks man
I can not get enough of your work, thanks
Wow, thank you!
G'day champion 🤙🏼I like the final design Diff, looks great mate! Cheers buddy
🍻 🇦🇺
Glad you like it! Thanks Stevo
That looks great. For me the hardest part is deciding what to do. Once you figure out what to want to do, actually doing it the easy part. Creating something on a blank canvas is always the challenge for me. You constantly wondering what will it look like and if it will work with what you have going on... You pulled it of Div...Looks cool and unique. Thank you for sharing.
Agree 100% "Designing" stuff is much harder than actually doing it. And can take more time! Glad you approve bro😀
I really enjoy your videos I would subscribe in a minute but I live on a VA Pension and I just don't have any extra money but I will always hit the like button once again I enjoy your work and what you're doing
Thanks Charles. Not sure if you are serious brother, but doesn't cost anything to subscribe. My wife also thought it costs money...
I love it! The whole back end of the truck really came together and the sideways continental kit looks cool! I can't wait to see what you come up with for the tail lights! 👍
Thanks Stew!
Fantastic. Love watching you videos 🧐🇬🇧🥇💓🔥
Thanks brother!
Looks great Dif. The rounded bit over the spare wheel makes for a great step. Well done 😎
Thanks 👍
I like the direction you’re taking this build!!
Thanks! Not for the purists or traditionalists though...😂
Song: One piece at a time
Great design as usual. Very nice craftsmanship also. Have you thought about using seat belt buckles and latches on the inside of the tailgate. More donor parts from the Nissan. Jeff
Thank you. Thats an unusual idea!
Duff very nice job recycling that 2nd door man. That's very unique and very nice design there on the back of the rat rod truck. Can't wait to see more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God bless.
Glad you like it! Stay well brother.
Your building it for you people will ether like it or not!
Jip! Different strokes for different folks...😅
Roll pan looks proper 👌, nice job Div. Anxious to see what you have in mind for the tail-lights . Take care 👍
Thanks man. Tail lights video should be on Sunday 😅
Lyk baie mooi gaan dit n trappie wees om agter op te klim
Dankie! Ja, ook begin dink dit kan 'n trappie raak.
I like your attitude. It is your truck so do it the way you want it. Leave the yellow paint. Too much of a good things ruins your fun. My kind of guy. I like to mess with peoples mind. If they don’t like it tough.
Thanks Bruce. Yes man, if people dont like my shit, its their problem, not mine!😅
Love it. It's coming along nicely. 👍
Thanks 👍
