😂
nothing like a good adventure with a couple of friends.. nice video
Thanks brother!
Really enjoyed the trip through South Africa. Absolutely stunning views. The music was perfect for unloading the green machine. Can hardly wait to see what you use for an engine. Looking for forward to the next episode of the three stooges!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Lekka my brother! Thanks for helping move the little frog😅
Love the road trips! Beautiful scenery!! Can't wait to see what you do with it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is starting to look like “the French connection!” Great video I’m guessing this might end up a monster v8 or a hyabusa drive chain. Loving the journey 👌
😁 It will be quite some time before something happens to it...
Someone already mentioned that perfect music for unloading the car lol love it
😁👍
I love that Husdon truck
Great road trip, the music was exceptional, particularly the wacky unloading part. Can't wait to see what happens next to the Fiat! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your road trip with the world. That’s a great find, I’m partial to green.
What a cool little find. Its in really good condition too.
What a sweet little car, you're so lucky to have a hot dry climate to preserve the old vehicles.
It is so nice to see parts of Africa as they are vs. the stereotypical grasslands and lions of Hollywood movies. Beautiful land and trees. Good road trips are the best with friends or family. Btw, picked up one of your cool t-shirts to help support you Div. Thanks for the joy and entertainment in Rat Rods.
Thanks for the support, brother!
This be an interesting build for sure, looking forward to seeing it!
Another little bug, to play with, looks like it was a great drive, thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones, Have a Lekka one
The Green Goblin, nice find guys.

Great to see you guys having fun.
That’s definitely KOOL Little ride Div
A great adventure buying a mini car.
Awesome paintwork💚🇬🇧🌱
Thanks for another , Brother !!
Such a cool little car. Love from California!
Pretty good condition, wow the suspension is golf cart grade. That's how you park one of those no parallel parking nonsense.
I sure enjoy your channel Div..a band of characters. Awesome dudes. Trying to remember how many subs you had when I joined....I know it wasn't a lot, as the first comment I posted was something about...we gotta help the brother to grow...you're getting close to 30k...let's keep it goin. Peace brothers, from southern Alberta..in canukistan.
Glad you enjoying our carrying ons! Thanks for the support over time!
Another great adventure.
Thanks for the ride it was wonderful
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey Dif, my first ever car, back in 1965, while I was still in high.school was the 1948 version of the "Topolino" 500 Fiat. A guy gave it to me with a broken bell housing, it was his daughter's daily driver, I was a "teenage mutant ninja barefoot mechanic", he said "you can have this but you must get it going again!" I did, the rest is history. That was 60 years ago, I still remember that "Little Mouse", a far better looking car than that later model you have there, but I'm sure the "Rat Rod boys" will improve it. Great find mate. Cheers from Australia!
Yes, the early ones were the best looking. Very hard to find here without paying an arm and a leg!
@@ratrodsafrica yes mate, I cut that one up and "hot rodded" it even way back then by putting the Fiat body on a Morris 8 chassis and engine because the original engine was so piss poor. I often wonder how much "The little Mouse" would be worth now in original condition,🤔. But then that's the way many have gone over the years,😂 but it's been a fun ride.
Love the Topolinos!
The Green Goblin. Nice one Guys.
😁👍
Thanks for the road trip! I used to bomb between Knysna and Cape Town in an Austin Apache as a student in the 1980s, and my late father owned Tangent Engineering in Knysna back then. Good memories! You should have bought the Austin 10 and stuck the engine and gearbox in from one of those Datsun 1200 bakkies outside Bobby's place 🙂
Small world! The Datsun bakkie engine will work well in that Austin, but you would have to upgrade the Puddle jumper's brakes!
Two guys drove one of these from Switzerland to Pakistan across Turkey, Iran and Afghanistan in 1954, wrote a book about it called The Way of the World, tough little cars
Interesting!
This is nice cillection of small cars. Can't wait to see what engine is gong to be in this one. Your chanel is getting more and more interesting. I wish i could find somthing like this and follow your steps. Keep up good work !!!
Thank you very much!
Good video Diff! I had keep showing my better half I thought it that good. Thanks
Thanks man. Glad you enjoyed it
It's lovely wat a nice car!🎉
I could see the engine out of a motorbike fitting right into that Topo!
Boet you should definitely have a comedian Thursday because you three guy's would be a hit. Love the new green goblin just needs a super bike engine to power it. Thanks for the lekka road trip.
Bike engine would be great!
F.irst I.n A.ny T.rouble , always an adventure with you Diff and your fellow partners in grime And welcome to the little Green Beany , can't wait , Proper Job !! All the best man 😊
😁👍
I’ve always heard that Fiat stands for “Fix It Again Tony “ lol
The Austin 10 would be my choice of car with a Rover V8 ( early one )
Except for the nose, that body looks like the ones they used to build A/altereds and gassers back in the 60s.
Looks like you guys had a good time on the trip.
Yes, this one is the slightly later version (1951) of those 1937 models
Beautiful country I hope S. Africa prospers. And You all as well.🕊
Thanks!
Finding an original motor is not going to be easy, but retrofitting something like an S&S V twin might be a worthwhile option.
I've never seen one before in the states .. cool car 👍
nice country side. cool Fiat also cheers Duff
You should try filming some of the road trip with the selfie camera on your phone. It would like your driving here in America.
I had the thought as others, perfect for a bike motor.
Cool little car
My brother, I approve your buyings...
Hehe, thank you
Green and yellow springbok colors you could use them as transport for the team. 😁🇬🇸👍
The fiat topolino were popular as a shell for drag cars in the past looked cool with the suicide doors
😁 Gonna be quite a thing to 15 big dudes in there 😂
😎👍🇺🇲
Cheers from Seattle WA USA.✌️
Cute little thing
Nice 👍 🎉
It is a nice find.
That little mouse needs a mouse motor, small block Chevy 350 lol if anyone can make that work out it’s you Div! Another great video, I enjoy seeing your country side
You reckon a SBC is a mouse motor? 😂
The small block chevy is a Mouse.
The big block, is a Rat..
@@ThomasSmith-hh8fp and the 426 Hemi was the Elephant, of course
i had an Austin 10 like that back in New Zealand my first car paid 30 pounds for it. looks like you guys had a fun road trip
£30 ? You were burned Fred. My Standard Vanguard Estate cost me £8 😲
@@peterbellwood5412 one day of rain and the old vanguards turned to rust i think you paid to much mate🙃
You guys are having too much fun 😂😂
😁👍
This video makes me want to travel to Africa!!
It will be the vacation of a lifetime! 🙂
Way too cool to pass up! Whatever it is😊
So our community in NE TX is observing the total eclipse of the sun and I'm watching RatRods for Africa. What shoe size is that Fiat? Takes 2 to make a pair. Very neat little car. Hope to see it again in another video. Good thing it has a soft top so the driver has "headroom!" 😎👍
I see your buddy has an Isuzu.I got an Isuzu trooper .they are cool little rigs with GM running gear .easy to get parts. You arent lying about being in the jungle. Looks pretty thick in some of them scenes. Cant wait you work the ol greeny.thanks for taking us along
That Isuzu pick up is my daily driver. Love it
1987 - I worked at Komani Hospital in Queenstown. The local scrapyard had a red, tired Toppolno. Not For Sale.
I desperately wanted to buy it.
In the end I bought a 67 Ford Anglia 1200 Super
Registration number CH 13
Used as a daily for a few years, sold to a fireman who kept knocking once a month.
Good to see you have Groenie collected.
Groenie!😂 Interesting stories.
looks like you guys had another fun day hunting down little cars to save.well done you guys can now work on your truck for awhile Take care Div .
I love it would make a cool project
Your a sick man Diff. 😊
"Don't ever change" brother man.
Very sick!🤣
Hey Div,
Yet another reason why I do not have facebook on my phone.
Enough stuff finds its way to me without it.
But hey, we need to have those toys to keep us busy, off the streets at night and out of trouble, sorta.
After reading the other comments, I somewhat agree with a couple of them.
Just as a toy to play with, a horizontal crankshaft small one cylinder engine would be fun.
Then when that has ceased to be fun or is destroyed, a larger two or more cylinder engine from a motorcycle would make the little car quite road worthy.
Maybe even scarry !
But if I remember correctly there is no transmission in the car so that might be another project in itself.
Thank goodness for Marketplace !
I have faith in you Div.
I have no doubt that is something you can handle.
Thank goodness for Marketplace !
Giggle, Giggle, giggle.
You live in a beautiful area, thank you for sharing it with us.
Rock On
Yes, the bike engine idea keeps haunting us!
Aloha!! Very cool lil car! And what a great trip for all of us! Cant wait to see this one come to life in your shop!
Thanks for taking us along on your road trip.
Pleasure
Well Div, can't wait to see what engine you're going to fit in that toy. Thanks for taking us along.
Its gonna be a while... lets see...
Like the find can't wait to see what is done with it.
The Austin looks more like the 8 HP . Austin Ten of this age had a divided two piece rear window.
Cool little car you found there. Nothing like a road trip with friends to make a day's adventure. I had a 1957 Chevy Bel-Aire 4 door painted about the same color as that car. Looked great at night but was butt ugly during the day. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
There's no halfway with that color, either you love it or you hate it😄
@@ratrodsafrica So very true Sir
This was unexpected… 😊👍👍
The two Nissan Backies would fetch big dollars here in Australia. 😊😊😊😊
And this side, there are thousands of them! Lots still being used as daily drivers, see them one the road every day!
It is super cute. That is the under appreciated Fiat 500. The little rear engine one that replaced it dominates peoples mental image of the model number.
I spy Aly's Bedford, love the cab in them
Slowly gaining more "character"...😂
Oh Oh
You coned yourself 😮🤪
Seen you bought the little tree frog the 1st thing came to my mind when i saw the "engine compartment " was a motorbike engine.
It doesn't have to be a 6000 bhp Hayabusa one.
Just a thought .
I am sure you come up with a diabolical plot for us to enjoy.
😁👍
Well above all what views you guys have the landscape around is amazing. Looking forward to new adventures.😊
Yes, blessed to live here!
What some great views on this trip 👍👍
The struggle is Real! Good find!
fib that sure is some beautiful country you are traveling through.
Div. Sorry for the typo.
Blessed to live here!
Hey! That will fit in my Driveway!
It will fit in your bath!😂
You need doors like that on the yellow one.
Awesome afternoon brother from another country looks like an awesome addition to your awesome collection great find brother yall have a lekka one
Howzit Diff and freinds, thanks for the ride back to where i grew up, great video as usual.
Glad you enjoyed it
FIÂT ; FIX IT AGAIN TONY!
Cool little car!
😁👍
No rest for the wicked
Don't delete marketplace until you have a power plant for the little gem. ;)
😁👍
So cool man! Love watching this. Keep it up
Thanks! Will try.🙂
It's LS AWAP time !!! 😮
Allways good fun to see you guys.

Greetings brother!
That's awesome! I've always wondered how you get these old cars with ancient license discs and no papers registered!
The switch on the mirror changes the angle of mirror to stop glare, its for day or nite mode.
Apparently it's actually the interior light switch
I love it, looking forward to another build. You've got a good workload ahead. But I'm missing the Hudson too!
Too much to do!😅
Cool car for sure. But I can't help but love that Nissan bakkie in the yard. We didn't get those in the US at all and I'm a big time vintage Nissan guy.
Those little trucks were very popular here, made by Nissan South Africa from 1971 - 2008. Lots and lots of them around, many still daily drivers. They had a great reputation for their reliability.
The topalino is a lot closer to Noddy car that the Renobug. Nice car Dirk. Thought Wayne might have bought the Austin
The price on that Austin was not where we play...
Fun watch, don´t know how often I have fallen for that "just going to have a look" thing. Besides I worked on topolinos as an aprentice... many decades ago.
Tiney little 500cc four cylinder engine with about 3 horsepower but a really sporty seating position.
Not many people can say they have worked on these!
@@ratrodsafrica Well there ust to be quite a few around here back in the 60s
Some beautiful late summer early fall weather you have there Div! Lekka
You got that right!🙂
