It's crazy how small the stuff is in this video actually is, I wouldn't have thought it was humanly possible to work on
the "big" yellow caps around are about the size of the rice grain
A Friday afternoon video, nice. Have a great weekend Alex, Big Boss, Pops and Dolly.
Alex is a beast, knowledge and procedure always serves the job right
Amazing work. I was holding my breath while you were removing the chip so close to those miniscule components!
Can you talk about international shipping in the next one? Thanks!
Always a great repair vid
Nice repair as always
may be light sensor flex behind screen needed to connect to light up screen . just like newer iphones
I have that anti glare light with the microscope and it's the bomb! Amazing
Good job mate 👍
Theres factory, better than factory, and then there is Alex
Have a good weekend everyone
Its magical how the solder ball follows the solder tip around.
the magic of good flux
Alex plus Big Boss. A winning pair.
9,400 in 6 hours .. Awesome Alex.... Great video.... Better than Factory 😊
All those caps. What a nightmare. Excellent work.
More learn from you everyday thx eng.
Wow , those components are really small.
One idea/question: in such small areas, can we use a thin strip of kepton tape to reduce heat transfer to those tiny components beside the chip, and also keep them in place if they got hot?
And isn't there any tool to grab the chip from above, something that works with vaccum ?
Yes, you could also use Aluminium and it definetly makes sense if you have the time.
There are battery powered vacuum tools but I dont think the tip can withstand the temperatures as they are used for placement in solder paste.
@@TeHa94 Careful using aluminium, if you are working on a live board you can short the components.
Perfect 👌
What hot tweezer do you use?
what temperature and air speed you use for different components and how not to burn any during the process
I know you said you go through truckloads of flux. How much flux do you use on a typical repair or how long does a tube last? Looks like a lot under the scope.
Powerful😎💪
Awesome
I love your kid saying better than factory
Awesome ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Do you recommend me learning soldering and smd stuff as a hobby?

Ow, cliffhanger!
🎉
why no underfill under the chip ?? Same chip in MacBook has underfill. This chip is very sensitive if you use not original Apple charger, when I have 5V 0A in Apple products, I immediately ask customer to send me a pictures of his charges.
Great video buddy.
Alex "steadyhand" Fix
How much do you charge for this ?
🙏👏👏👏🙏
That 12.9" 4th gen and 5th gen and especially 11" 2nd gen are known for that "USB-C controller" chip issue (in my company we call it usb-c controller, not sure if that is the real name of it)
Yes it's a USBC Controller and Common failing point on USBC iPads We get them in everyday. Just stay away from USBC and go for lighting if you want your iPad to last.
Hi, I have soaked in 3 seconds in salt water in my mi note 11. Are you able to fix it? How can I ship my device to you?
High performance to repair small components while drinking dry whisky.
Bismillah boss
Gosh, I thought normal components were small, but those little components on the iPad are ridiculous...
📢 " Dr. Alex... you're needed in the ER."
6000 components 😆 4:18
hard luck after such a delicate job
Apple builds crap, thats not easy to repair....
Anyway good luck with the backlight Alex

Came in for no power.
Went back with all the ✨power✨
Apple the only company in the world to utilize a USB C controller chip that fails.
The chipdoctor doing microsurgery once again....🩺
