LOL, how does Turturro's shirt get so dirty between 7:59 and 8:07? 😆

Well it was edited to show that there was time passing so whatever happened to him happened off screen. Walking in a forest for an amount of time with a white shirt you’re gonna get dirty especially if you’re me lol

@@SirReginald. Nope, it's a continuity error. There are several others in this film too. I love the film but the errors are funny. Check out the one where Verna throws a hairbrush at a mirror. From one angle it's one small crack, from the other it's smashed in several places 😆

The Dane actor stole the movie at some points with his menacing aggression.

In my opinion, an underrated line in this film is when the big fella says, "Jeezus, Tom..." He's just a working man, and Tom knows how things have to go. It's clear that he respects Tom. Just kinda like his feelings were hurt more than being upset about getting whacked with a chair.

True. This is further shown in a later scene where Tom gets a beating for the money he owes, and the enforcers leave on some "No hard feelings"

Amazing line delivery....he was REALLY HURT that Tom didn’t understand that it wasn’t going to be that bad...and the ungentlemanly course of Tom’s “reaction” to the situation

The moral of the story is that you can not have sympathy/conscience on the streets, it will only come back to haunt you, same with Carlito´s way.

I can agree with that take, but I think there's a second moral/lesson. A person has to stay true to who they really are. The hat that Tom is chasing represents his dignity. He's always losing it, in bets, to the wind, he even dreams about chasing it. But at the end, after making sure Leo was secure, Tom wrote him off (because Leo didn't actually have that much personal dignity), and then Tom planted his own hat securely on his head. Dignity intact.

I'd say the film is more about having ethics (as Caspar says). If anything, Bernie coming back helped Tom...

I feel like Tarantino conjures up an echo of this scene & its setting, 2 years later in the 'Stuck In The Middle' scene in Reservoir Dogs. The settings for these two scenes are echoes of eachother.

John Turttoro....IMO...deserves recognition far greater then is maintained...this scene alone emphasised his brilliance...as a consequence, his understated contribution to raise the best from his co-actors. An utterly flexible manipulation of the Directors, and their manipulation of him. him...
