- The old Mitsubishi is back...
The car feels transformed after we install coilovers, a 20mm rear anti roll bar and upgraded cooling to improve track performance. I go through a quick install on each item and explain how they performed on track!

Great to see you back into it. Just recently done a lot of head work and removed AC
I love your videos keep them up keep the FTO alive.
Glad to see that the fto is not forgotten. Looking forward to more videos!
Nice video, still got my 2001 ralliart fto in the garage been sleeping for 7 years lol . Really need to get it back on the road.
Wake her up 😁
Motul rbf660 solved my brake fade. I can do 45 minutes sessions without any brake fade. Good video as always 👍
Nice one. Open to any suggestions. Will look into it 👍
Very similar spec to mine - Except more lightening, cage, wheel spacers (to go square) & r888r’s. I recommend Ebc bluestuff on stock callipers and racing fluid to prevent brake fade (mind you I have now moved to gto callipers). Your vids have been helpful to me from time to time 👍🏻 keep up the good work!
Thank you. Great to hear of another track based fto 👍
Absolutely brilliant little car!!
Front fender braces (connected from the bottom door bolts to the side of the front strut tower) make a huge difference. Feel like you can turn right angles at any speed and makes the front ARB work better. Ultra Racing sell them for the lancer CE chassis (i used the 2 point version) but have to cut the top bolt tab off and weld it back on at 90degs.
Got a link?
Great video. Skipped the right stuff, was quick and great summary at the end. If you want to sell the springs and dampers you removed, i'd buy them.
Thanks Ian. They will be up on ebay soon. I'll post a link here in the comments when we get them ready.
Nice car!!
nice job mate :D
Great video Pamo. Greetz Arthur
I own quite an old FTO but it is in pristine condition...I've owned it for 20 years or more & love it! However, I would love to have a supercharger fitted to it but don't have the skills to do it myself. I wonder how much it would cost if anyone out there has fitted one? My FTO is a GPX with a deeper grill installed as originally it had the shallow one. It has a 'tin can' exhaust & is of course silver...aren't most of them! I hardly see any on the road these days but they are such fun. I wish I had put bigger wheels on as I dislike the gappy arches & lowering the suspension is not really an option for me. Once you get the revs up & the cams working they are a joy to drive!!
A supercharged fto sounds like a fine idea sir. Nice to hear others stories 👍
Excellent video.
We, literally, done exactly the same job on one of our FTO's last Saturday...
Your video is absolutely spot on the job.
Great work.
Tomorrow we're fitting new brakes all round and front bottom arms.
Thanks 👍
What arms are you fitting, we are about to try some gto/3000gt calipers.
@@ManSeeksCivic just standard bottom arms because they're worn out.
Ahh, fair enough 👍.
@@ManSeeksCivic have a look on my Facebook page, there's some of our FTO work on there.

Hey Pamo glad 2 see you're still working on the FTO. For brakes i run on 4 piston Willwood big brake kit. Run it for track on Nurburgring and here in Holland on track and still going strong. Would also recommend to change you're brakefluid to some racing fluid that will help the fading. Let me know how the BC's doing since i need some new coil-overs myself and was looking into the BC's. feedback will be much appreciated mate ;-)
I've just lost my mivec recently coming home from work in the lovely Highland weather 😂
That is not cool.
@@ManSeeksCivic absolutely devastated tbh
Glad to see the FTO still going looks like it's driving mint. And that looks like my local road. Stanhope to Blanchard?
Thanks man, yes she's still running well and is currently in the process of some prep for future stopping improvements along with some work of the gearbox. Nicely tucked away in the garage. As for the road, you are correct sir, well spotted 👍
I thought I recognized it. Cracking roads around here. I'm really looking forward to watching the progress. Your video's have helped me loads with Mine. Mine is currently parked up in a garage down crook. Trying to find the time to get mine back on the road. Have you tried freaky parts? They have a few after market options for the FTO brakes I was looking at these for mine seem a decent price too. freakyparts.co.uk/products/mitsubishi-fto-wilwood-dynalite-4-pot-brake-kit?_pos=6&_sid=d292c2b1c&_ss=r
My girlfriend has looked at freaky parts a few times. Good site. What's wrong with your fto at the moment?
@@ManSeeksCivic My bottom end went on it. Got a donor engine fitted in. Got it up to temperature and water started leaking out the pump. So need to replace that and do the timing belt when I'm on with it. Fingers crossed it should be back on the road this summer 🤞 Maybe see you at croft 😊
That would be great to see another one. If I can help ever, don't be afraid to shout.
What exact model did you buy from BC coilover buddy?
I clicked on link buy does not show it anymore.
I'll check with the boss (my missus, she bought them)
@ManSeeksCivic fair enough, I'm about to order a set on Monday as my shocks have had it so I'll upgrade to BC RA series maybe.
I have evo 8 OEM 17inch Rims to go on as well so going to see what size your running and tyre profile?
I was thinking of running 215 40 R17 on them ans rolling the guards as well.
We run 235 45 17 on the rear and 235 40 17 on the front. I didn't roll the arches but did have to massage the inner wings at the front a little. We don't run the plastic rain guards at the front.
The BC's are the RM model.
Hey buddy, i bought tactrix open port so time to see if I can read the GPX sensor with Evo Scan soon.
