I know it will charge quickly and you'll almost never have to plug it in but still. Anyway... It was about time they upgrades their mice with rechargeable batteries.
Great mouse for gaming. I really recommend it, as I can get up to 2 clicks per second. The no lack of buttons makes it good too. It's also wireless and its slim and if you try to move the cursor it moves 10 seconds after your action.
2 CPS is awful for gaming I get 8.2 Cps on a 10$ mouse

People have no problem paying extra for premium tires, so why don’t they feel the same about Apple products? We use these at work. they connect instantly and if you're a graphic designer you need a mouse that can scroll in any direction. It's really helpful.

I got mine TODAY IM SO HAPPY! AGH ! I dont care but man alive! love it already !
At first, I was appalled at the location of the charging port.
But, then it's not much of a problem if it can charge for two minutes to obtain nine hours of operation. And you can charge it fully overnight and it will last for quite a while.
A very long battery life along with fast charging times pretty much negates the silliness of the charging port location.
Felt really good in the hand (at least for a store demo) but I think it should have a tiny trackball on it like the original wired magic mouse (which I still have a boatload of) ~ maybe Apple will bring back the a tiny trackball on the Magic Mouse 3?
The Magic Trackpad 2 is a winner though ~ and most users will have a trackpad on laptops too so having it on the mouse seems redundent - Hey that Logitech number at the end looks interesting

I just purchased one last night after using the corded apple mouse for a long time. This mouse is a game-changer for me. Especially because I travel a lot and use my laptop during flights. With the limited space provided, I no longer run out of runway while completing some commands.

My experience with Apple?
Had IPod Touch 3rd gen and it didn't last a day. Fell out my pocket as I went to take a picture with it and had to get a new one. Today if you charge it up and go back to it the next day it would be dead, no life in it whatsoever. Atleast my blackberry lasted 3 days before it told me that it couldn't find a sim card even though I'm pretty sure I put it in.

+Paperclown What? You scroll with the touch sensors and right click by clicking with your finger positioned on the right. I've been using a magic mouse and a regular mouse for years and see no noticeable difference in functionality.

It maybe was a better solution if they put it on the front so that you can use it like a wired mouse? I don't know, maybe they will come out with a dock or something..
+Milan Movies well if they wanted you to use it while charging they wouldn't have put it on the bottom. Including how fast charging they claim it to be, it's a good choice because the battery will drain because of unnecessary charging

Guy Maor I have been thinking about getting a mouse with macros. I just really like the swiping gestures, maybe I should get a setup with a track pad and a mouse with macros. Best of both worlds lol
as someone who owns a lot of premium equipment such as Razor Black Mamba and MX S2 and Hyperion Fury mouse and Corsair 7.1 witless headset and other stuff, I can without a doubt say apple products are of supreme quality to them all hands down. as far as quality and advanced design, apple completely dominates the market (they are the only brand that thaught to use a mouse as a track pad, a good example why apple is ages ahed of its competitors, to to mention the fact that apple mouse does it all with just 1 button, all other brand of choice everywhere have 2, because windows is still stuck with their 1992 functionality)

I don't understand why the charging port is not placed at the front of the mouse. That way when it needs to be recharged you plug in the lightning cable and use the magic mouse like a traditional wired mouse.

I know why the charging port is under the mouse. They just want that everyone buy a second mouse to have allways one ready.
Unfortunately, Apple has yet to produce a mouse that beats a $10 Logitech entry level specimen in terms of comfort (and usability, I'd say).
i have the Logigtech 502 lightspeed and is hard to use in mac. thinking in try this one by mac can be better

@@Rolonmarval The 502 is one of those gamer mice. Since I'm not a gamer, I wouldn't know why and how to use one. In my experience with mice, simple and cheap is usually preferably to complicated and expensive. The MX Ergo perhaps being the exception to that rule

+BS Shapiro The 27 inch iMacs also have user-upgradable RAM. At least the non-retina ones like mine do. When I got mine, the salesperson at Apple even told me not to buy the additional RAM through Apple, as they ridiculously overcharge for it.

I tried the older generation then I switched to a $3 HP mouse and it's lighter faster and has a USB cable so I don't have to worry about charging it.

I actually think these mice are a substantial choice for productivity. While many consider it to be one of the worst mice out there, it has some neat little quirks other mice don't. For starters, it can scroll horizontally. The Magic Mouse also is recharageable, which means no longer lugging around double a batteries. The "silliness" of the charging point because quickly irrelevant when you learn it has a surprisingly long battery life. With it being able to hold 9 hours of use with only 5 minutes of charging, that's pretty good. I have the black version and its my go-to mouse to use with my 2020 MacBook Pro (13-inch).
My Corsair mouse lasts 50 hours on Bluetooth and has so much more functionality including remappables for $5 less.
The mouse is genuinely the worst choice you could probably make for this price point.
its not the absolute worst, but the ergonomics... i find myself scrolling when i want to click and my hand cramps almost immediately
