- October 18 | Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) delivers remarks in a Senate Environment and Public Works Committee hearing entitled, "Examining the Implications of Sackett v. Environmental Protection Agency for Clean Water Act Protections of Wetlands and Streams." The Court's decision in Sackett was the latest assault on the EPA’s power to clean up our environment and hold polluters accountable.

Wetlands are astoundingly good natural filters of pollutants. Polluted rivers and bays reduce the economic output of a region. We've had to rebuild wetlands destroyed in previous decades, and it's an enormous expense. Protecting wetlands IS the fiscally conservative choice.
Please let others know what this man has said, discovered and how it affects all of us. Pass it on .

Senator Whitehouse is absolutely correct regarding his comments about the "old" United Supreme Court - I share his opinions but I now have recognized that we the people of the United states no longer have a Supreme Court we now have a court of United Court of Political Justices decidedly basing opinions not on the rule of law but on the political underpinnings of their limited minds. Real justice no longer exists in these United States but is in the hands of big business, Donald Trump and the ultra right conservatives.

I think I remember that one of the first things tfg did was to eliminate the “Chief Scientist” role; then went on to ‘restructure’ several scientific research institutions, relocating some so that senior & experienced scientists had to choose between uprooting their families or resigning.
