  • Welcome Shiny, Crafty people! Tim Totten here with sewing projects you can do yourself!
This fun project is a little bit more advanced than my last two store-bought quilt hacks, but sometimes it's fun to step up the skill level and see what stuff we can make with a basic store-bought quilt!
Using a store-bought quilt means that for just a few dollars, you can have a customized tennis racquet bag that holds a few racquets AND some other tennis supplies, like balls, new grips, and maybe even some sweatbands!
To make this fun coordinated tennis bag, you'll need the following:
1 Store-bought quilt (I used a king-size Walmart quilt that cost $29.95 and this is the second project we're getting out of it!)
    Scissors or rotary cutter
    Straight edge or cutting grid
Lining Fabric (I used nylon packcloth)
    Zipper
    Thread
    Velcro
    Sewing Machine
The next videos in the series of Store-Bought Quilt Hacks will cover bread baskets, casserole dish covers, runners, storage cases, and more!

That’s so nice of you to say! I made this as much for the fun of figuring it out as the possibility that anyone might ever make one. I still think it makes more sense to buy one from the store, but I loved the challenge!

LOL Mr. Tim, I bought the quilt from Wal Mart but haven't made the place mats yet even! My tennis playing days are quite over now but this gives me ideas for a baby "stuff" bag for my great niece due in a few weeks, thank you so much!

I was thinking this idea cd be used to make a guitar case. Maybe use a layer or two of inneRform or headliner foam for extra protection; maybe quilt the layers together. 🎸

While I don't play tennis, I do have a set of disc golf frizbees that need a bag. This is a great help for me to figure out how to put it together.

Great. Has the same shape as my mandolin case. Can use the same concept to make a case for my little lap Hawaiian guitar. Thanks.

If it was a little smaller it would make a good sling bag. You could give vera bradly a run for her money

I’m still thinking of ideas. I have a video done about a drawstring bag from this material but I have to edit a few more minutes of it. Other than that, what kind of things would you like to see from this material?

@Timothy Totten 😊 Congratulations for this « achievement », ACHIEVEMENT yess, at least from my side of the screen. I do not know how to sew, even less how to use a sewing machine. However, you managed to keep me attentive through the first 3 videos re the quilt hacks. And all the challenges plus errors and redos kept me riveted. I just wanted you to know that 😌
Of course, I have subscribed to your great channel. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.🍀🍀🍀
