“We do not mourn the loss of those who die fulfilling their destinies.”
-The Forestmaster, Dragons of Autumn Twilight
This was the response given by The Forestmaster, a Unicorn, to the party when they realized the meat they were eating had come from an animal they must have known. To what you were saying about Druids using things like wood and leather I can only say that it is in the nature of these things to die. Druids respect the cycle of nature and understand these things.

Looks like a fun game, wish I could find it somewhere other than steam. I understand what you mean about crafting in games, I like crafting systems but even I can admit they can be quite tedious. I'd say a good one that I can think of might be Morrowind, it covered a lot of gaps in character builds people could come up with allowing for a little more roleplaying. You could make some helpful items in Morrowind but my experience it wouldn't be better then the items you can get in the quest-lines. As for the Dark Eye it's had a number of tabletop editions some of which have been released in English, and more video games including Blackguards as well as Realms of Arkania. Also please do a Wizardry 6 video. :) (post edit) I almost forgot Morrowind had a similar system for fast travel, in that you had to find a Silt Strider or one of the Mage Guild teleport services and go from one to the other. The only arguable exceptions were the intervention spells and the Mark/Recall spells.

"Drakensang" is yet another game in the far too large "I'll get around to playing it one day, honest" pile of my games collection...

this game is a gem !
About the being a bit weak in that game, I gotta dmit that the mage are really powerfull in the first hlaf part of the game. You can acces to two very damaging spells. They can also have kinda cool spells to nerf the enemy or even turn the in stones. But is the second half part of the game, soldier become even better to deal heavy damage if they are well prepared ! I also rememember that RoT had a better crafting depth compared to the dark eye, since one of the best if the the best weapons can only be crafted : The perfect two hander !

3:11:42 To me, that was my favourite aspect of this game. So many RPGs are about the tired old saving the world cliche or at least escalate the stakes of an otherwise personal story to cosmic dimensions that even when it's done well (such as in the philosophical MotB) it wears out its welcome. It's nice to have lower stakes for once and have a main plot in which the political intrigue is really just that.

I agree. I love the small scale stories and settings. Much cosier. I have no interest in being a level 900 battlemage whose destiny is to save every John and Mary and King Cliché.

Somehow i overlooked this, glad your playing River of Time.
2 years ago i did a replay of the first Drakensang. But sadly encountered a Gamebreaking Bug with the GoG version late in the Game.
Until that Moment had a pretty good time with it.
Played both back in the day as they were released.
You probably also have heard of the Realms of Arkania series, the original series.Avoid the Remakes tho.

Any plans on doing a playthrough or video on vampire the masquerade redemption?

I've thought about it but my video last year on Vampire the masquerade Bloodlines burned me out on the setting for a while.
