But there is different types of Cyrillic also, Russian Cyrillic and Balkan Cyrillic are quite different for example.
Besides regular i, Ukrainian also has ï which is distinct from Russian. Russian contains Ё and Ы, which don't exist in Ukrainian.
but sometimes Ukraine has Russian names too
So, it's more about other stuff like road, buses...

As long as we're on the topic, the other unique Cyrillic letters I'm aware of are Ѓ, Ќ, and S for Macedonian (there are a couple of others, but I find them more difficult to visually distinguish on signage). Macedonian shares the letters J, НЬ, and Љ with Cyrillic Serbian, which also contains the unique letters Ђ and Ћ. Mongolian Cyrillic contains the unusual Russian letters Ë and Ы, but also has the unique Mongolian character Ө.
That's all I know of Cyrillic alphabets, hopefully it's helpful to someone!
