shneddick ring is nice because it gives ALL jobs movement speed. no need in having 5-8 items that give you movements peed and allows you to put proper Ilvl items in all the slots that matter to not get 1-shotted by whatever unexepectedly. its a LOT better than you give it credit for.
Vocane is perfect for tanks and great for mages too to stay alive.
Personally use Schneddick, just can't get past always having 18% movement at all times, and having many extra slots in my already full inventory slots. If I were to choose another one, would go for the WS DMG. Would only go for Orvail if I had crafting shield.. others are pretty meh.
i can totally see that plus, getting +18% is not easy for some of the jobs i love to play. also + inventory is the true endgame now
Don't forget there's a +1 version of these rings if you do the big long quests after main story is done.
Just started playing again. Decided to stop by and say "Pick The movement Speed Ring!" It's for all jobs and you can easily macro it even without gearswap. Press it for instant faster walking speed which you'll be doing 99% of the time..
The right answer is Orvail obviously. Pair it with Escutcheons and make gils to buy everything :D
hmm /thf th2 +tarutaru sash from abyssea lataigne th+1. how do you get th4 beside hitting multiple time. what other items? quited a fiew years ago
White Rarab cap +1 and Chaac Belt from Marjami Delve is the easiest combo to hit TH cap for any job with /thf. You can also get TH on augment for the reisenjima armor sets.

There is also Volte armor set from Dynamis-D Jeuno. Its All jobs set and has +1 TH on every piece (head, hands, legs, feet) beside body, which has +2. It has really low drop tho and body only drops from wave 2 boss. There is also Taming Sari, a dagger for dnc, brd, thf that has +1 TH and you can equip 2 of them.

Karieyh ring is great for a skillchain scholar. It was nore so in the day 100 tp for a weapon skill, sadly tgis ring and the sea earring didn't buff regein.
But as a scholar some ks bcnm fights you can start with 100 to. Solo dark ie light skillchain and do insane dmg up front.
Adoulin ring is great for COR with Leaden Salute

Can really tell which jobs Cloudchief doesn't play lol.
Janniston is amazing for Whm because there is no other ring that gives Cure potency II; that it also has some extra MP and enmity minus is just a bonus. And while, tanks shouldn't have a hard time holding hate at that stage in the game, a white mage being able to toss out more potent cures for less hate makes everyone's job easier.
Schneddick is for anyone who does a lot of kiting...especially against mobs that cast enfeebling magic to stop you from kiting. Can actually see a good use for this if you solo a lot as a rdm, blm, sch or geo...even a smn could prolly get some good use out of it. This would be awesome for anyone who does a lot of pulling too.
Renaye is fantastic for Bards, Blue Mages & Geomancers because of how much skill levels play into their jobs...particularly Bards & Geos.
Take DD WS ring if you’re DD. Take pet ring if you like pet classes especially pup tanking the - physical damage helps a lot. Take magic accuracy ring if you like mage jobs. That’s all
There is no TH Cap, not exactly.
You get your soft proc cap at 8 form gear - this is true.
However each point of TH you have over that on your gear, adds to the proc change of your attacks. It helps you build to TH 15 faster. So it does matter

@@earlcallaway8259 the requirements for basic ffxi are pretty low, not sure about the max custom setting for windower users. my pc is pretty old XD
Just a note on TH;
As a thf main, you want as much TH as possible for treasure hunter, yes, even above 8. As a master thf, you can get up to 14 TH through procs, and every TH above what it is currently at makes it vastly more likely to proc up.
The +1 from ring isnt that good, still, as you can get a shit load from other sources, but just thought id add this bit. The base cap is just what it starts at.
Im only a minute in but it seems like the first ring you showed is best for ninja considering Dakan, Ninjutsu and just basic attack all together lol

Watching this video makes me want to reinstall FFXI lol like seriously. Some of the rings like Woltaris Ring, they look kinda dumb, but if you use Windower/Gearswap it makes sense to use it as a "idle" ring lol.
Haverton Ring is not good. Cor and RNG can cap Snapshot without this ring. All Dual Wield job including /nin can easily cap Dual Wield with enough Haste, or even without capped haste (there are many great items with Dual Wield). It's actually taken only by hardcore COR for max ranged accuracy set I think.
Karieyh is typically taken by most DD jobs mains, but only +1 is really good, but still many rings (like Gere, Regal, Niqmaddu, Epaminodas) can rival it for 95% of WSs where it's useable.
Shneddick Ring is the best ring for many accomplished players, because it gives you many inventory space when you throw away everything else for movement on other jobs. Also some jobs has no ilv119 movement I think (like SMN for example ?). Also some people are so busy in game and other rings give them no real benefits and time is saves to move around actually overcome every other possible bonuses from other rings.
Orvail is the only option if you take crafting seriously.
Vocane Ring is probably the most useful ring for returning players without defending ring, but generally when you get most things in the game, you will have many pdt/mdt/dt pieces and you will have more problems to cover MEVA sets.
Weatherspoon ring is I think unusable for every spell that require midcast gear (which is almost everything) when you dont use gearswap. USing regular macros when you proc quick magic you will cast your spell in fast cast gear instead of potency gear, which is very bad. Even with gearswap, when you have lags like in dynamis, you might have this problem a lot.

Vocane is a decent ring but tanks have no issues at all reaching -PDT cap with all of the gear available. I had to toss my weatherspoon because I was sick of the quick magic procs when I didn't want them. I also tried Haverton, but it is pretty weak compared to other options - more of a beginner ring until you get access to end game gears.
For now I have Karieyh +1 on my main, and Sheddick on one alt, and orvail on the other.
Sheddick is also very good for cleaving when you lack other options. BST comes to mind.
And on my server, to get refresh on a ring from AH you are paying 40mil. Good luck with that to new players... they may as well get the adoulin options.
Most of the rings are out dated. Only really useful for specific builds in certain jobs. The movement speed ring you will probably get the most use of over any other ring.
