FFXI - How to Make an Ambuscade Weapon

- In this video I explain the items that you need to obtain to build an Ambuscade Weapon.
You will first need to purchase items by doing Ambuscade and accumulating points. These points reset each month.
Then, you will need a Pulse Weapon. This is the more difficult part unless you happen to have one sitting in storage. There are many ways to obtain a Pulse Weapon, and I go through them in this video, but all of the ways have a very low drop rate.

I love these videos, I'm glad that someone is explaining these things so that less-aware players can know what's happening. Keep up the good work :).
From my experience, the Whale in Escha-Zit'ah is the easiest way to get a pulse weapon if you don't buy the VW items from the AH. He has a 1-3% drop rate for pulse weapons (based on TH) and really isn't too bad to solo with Trust, even without REMA. Idk how they fare on Asura, but on Odin there are plenty of ???s spread out. The only issue is that you do indeed need to have at least Ambuscade gear and a weaponskill/dd set in order to kill him quickly. Last week I was just messing around with my friend and we got Router to drop off the Monkey within just a few hours and no thief, so it is certainly feasible.

I have a total of around 8 weapons. About 3 were obtained from AMAN Trove, while the rest were from gobbie chest (over a very long period of time).
I got the Gusterion pulse weapon today during my lunch break. I've been spamming the meeble burrows associate researcher run for a few days just here and there, paying the 120k each time to skip the chests step since: it takes time, its annoying, and ive been KOd a few times by death from an errant chest. Highly recommend meeble method because you can do it whenever you want and fairly quickly. It does work. I'd say I got it on my 12th run or so, didnt exactly keep count.
Congratulations. I agree that meeble burrows is the best way if you are trying to spam one thing out. While other ways may be better if their campaign is going on. This does seem to be the easiest thing to do along with having the best drop rate from my experience

What about turning in five pulse cells? They may drop more frequently than a weapon itself.
Best method to farm Pulse wpns - Escha-Zitah T3 NMs. Easy and cheap pops, can spam them endlessly.
I think NNI is best.
Not only do you get a chance to get a shiny but also alex, znm pop items, and other items of worth.
So far ive gotten tons of PI , pandamodium key, turm mittens and other su gear, peacock charm, rabbit charm.
Edit oh yeah you also get tokens.
You missed AMAN and there's a way to buy clears so that you can fight the boss in meeble burrows. It's 330k gil to buy the clears, but it can reduce your kill cycle time by a lot. I have a video where I'm buying clears and just killing the boss if you want to check that out. You may have to completely clear meeble burrows to be able to do this, though I'm not 100% sure about that.
The drop rate would need to be extremely good to pay 330k per attempt at the drop.
@@aro1284 Yes, I don't really recommend it over Zi'tah T3s. But on Asura with all the ??? camped all the time, it might become reasonable to those with deep pockets.

is Asura good for returning players? I heard you say ??? are camped. I was thinking about abyssea and making a empy weapon. I could imagine thats really hard to make if tons of people are in the zone because of the overpopulation?
I would not recommend Asura if your main focus is making an Empy. It is much easier on less populated servers.

How do you start the weapon since you didn't explain at all.
You get the base weapon same way you get all the armor. You get the Ambuscade Voucher: Weapon from any of the three point categories as you can get a voucher from all 3 each month and then you just trade it to the NPC and pick your weapon.

I've done 10s of 1000s of voidwatch and never seen a pulse weapon
Weird, as I have gotten between 4-6 in the 250ish I have done farming cinders. Not all voidwatch nms drop pulse weapons so are you counting nms that do not drop them?
@@cloudchiefarcade it was mostly Qilin with some Aello, and some Ig-Alima. I farmed most of my plates and cinders. Also plenty of Morta.

Yes, very much so. The server I am playing on at the moment (Asura) is packed with players. Some servers are a bit empty though.
