I like how aware Chloe was of the mistakes she made - shows how switched on she is as a driver. I’m sure she’ll pass very soon, even the emergency stop for the first time was quite decent.

Can finally make one of those comments passed today 24/02/2023 with 3 minors first try after 22 hours (11 sessions), It mightve been the lovely examiner but just so you know guys the videos you see on youtube are way more strict than you think, in reality examiners understand little faults and will not cut your head off, Good luck to everyone!
Finally after four attempts can say I passed today and the emergency stop came up in the test! Still passed with four minors 🙌🥳

@@DGNDriving Hi DGN, had a question: Do you have to use the handbrake when stopping at junctions? You are holding your foot on the brake, surely there is no need for handbrake, cause you cant roll away? Not from UK, so maybe you do it differently in UK than in Europe?

Emergency stop is so important. I passed last month and got my car 3 days ago and so far I've had 3 people pull out of a junction straight infront of me when it's my right of way and I've been overtaken on a roundabout.
Respect, you are always kind, composed, explain excellently, if only my instructor in Serbia would be as good as you... Though, he told me something that I did not understand at first - ON THE ROAD NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO DRIVE, ONLY YOU! Meaning - don't take for granted they know what they are doing!
YOU SHOULD ALWAYS THINK FOR THEM, PLAN FOR THEM AND ANTICIPATE THEIR MOVES! THINK PLAN AND ANTICIPATE 3-4 CARS UP FRONT AND 3-4 CARS BACK AND WATCH ALL THE MIRRORS ALL THE TIME!

@@jordanalman2487 thank you, practice the area around is key. Especially the dual carriageways. Learn the limits on some major roads so you can go on them and not have to be searching for a speed sign at all

@@jordanalman2487 make sure you are comfortable with all manoeuvres. Aim for a smooth and safe drive by not rushing, or panicking. All you have to do is drive smoothly and avoid any major mistakes. Like the other comment said practice around the area is really useful

Shes a good driver! Instead of slamming to stop just to the wrong way! I drive allot in my job the amount of times i realise I'm going to miss my turn but I'm going too fast or its too close genuinly happens dozens of times a day 😂 just go the wrong way and turn around when you can 💖

I watched the part where he explains how it’s “serious.” While yes this did happen to me today where I had to go around a bus that was stopped I don’t see an issue with her waiting. When I was learning my mother would tell me I don’t give a shit what the other drivers think as long as you are safe and comfortable. While yes not the best motto you really shouldn’t do anything on the road unless you have the confidence.

@@DGNDriving Do you know of any reputable courses for driving in the U.S. that may be equivalent to the Ultimate Driving Course? I know that driving here is very different (much easier with wider roads), with most people driving an automatic instead of a manual transmission. I've been driving for over ten years, but I think it's a good idea to take another look now that I'm more experienced - and fix any of my own bad habits/faults.

It’s how it impacts on other road users. It can cause queues, and people taking risks to overtake. If it was safe to overtake the hesitation can cause an accident

@@zizaboti6308 just a few in general to know what to do in different situations. i just watched them to learn what mirrors to check etc and then practiced with my dad for about 50hrs over 16 months. buy test routes online to put on a satnav and do them all. watch other videos on people doing the test routes too. goodluck

ahhh i wanna learn to drive a manual. sorry if this is a noob question but why does she use the hand brake so often? wouldn't it be better and more convenient to just use the foot brake? i thought hand brakes were there as an extra layer of protection, or if you're gonna stay still for a long time, like if you're stuck in traffic and traffic isn't moving

I passed my drivning test test today in Sweden
I would feel safe in the car with her. She was overall a decent driver but I do feel it was harsh giving her a Major fault for waiting behind the bus. If you're not sure then I get why she waited and the end of the day she's not going to cause an accident because she waits behind a bus. That said, this video was really informative and definitely were she pressed the clutch before the break as I am a sucker for that. Thank you for the vid and good luck to her, I think she will be fine on her test!
You get a major fault for causing other traffic to take action or change course - she made the other car go around her as a result of poor judgement, can't see how it was harsh. If there wasn't a car behind it would probably have been a minor.

You shouldn't restrict the flow of traffic if there is no hazard ahead. The bus pulled to the side so is technically acting as a parked vehicle.
Therefore you should look ahead and plan to overtake in good time unless there is a hazard approaching...

let me save you some time. He marked it serious because instead of switching lanes and continuing around the bus, she stopped and made the cars behind her stop when she had a clear view of traffic.

I saw no real problem, other than perhaps waiting longer for hesitating. She operated safely, and did not cause issue to others.

She hesitated. She should have checked her blidnspots and pulled out around the bus as soon as it was safe.instead she stopped. Waited, checked then went and almost immediately pulled back infront of the bus without even a few secobd space.
I dont feel it was a serious fault driving in right hand lane (aprox 8mins into the vidieo), left lane is the normal driving posistion however if it dosent adveserly effect other road users and your turning right at the next juntion should be ok if safe to do so ... perhaps a minor fault... bit harsh for me Pin.. love the vids.. long time subscriber 😁

I'd understand failing for overtaking a bus when it was signalling right to move off, but i cant understand how its fair to fail someone to be hesitant when overtaking a bus that isnt about to move off. Would one also fail for not overtaking the bus at all in that situation?

I don’t think it’s serious for a rookie. But experienced drivers never stop just bc somebody stops before them, they just move around the bus/accident/whatever it is on the road

I just watched his explanation, but there is no way that’s a serious. The Umbrella term of “harm to other drivers” can be used by any instructor to fail anyone for what are minors. The games rigged.
I think it was more dangerous that she was really fast at the end of the bus and then she closely drove back on her line. I only know German rules and here you need to drive carefully around stopping coaches. I'm really scared that a guy or a little kid leaving the bus and than is crossing the road behind the coach 🫨

I've also seen you give faults for this in other videos and I showed my instructor and she said it's ok to be waiting on the crossing as the light is green so pedestrians will not be using the crossing at this time anyway. She said she's been on tests where the examiner also said it's ok to be on the crossing in this situation

Doing what everyone on the planet does and with the same results seems a bit petty. Regardless of these tests, they will do way more seriously unsafe things while they drive for the next 50 years. These tests are to do e from a place of reality.

Definitely not serious. She stopped with ample room, waited for the white car to pass her, then turned to follow. She could have turned immediately after seeing the bus slow down, but if you aren’t in a rush that was the safest option
Best real world driving skills are absolutely learned in the balkans or india. Everything is crazy and hectic, if you can learn to drive there with a big car and avoid an accident you are golden. I get it that a driving test is supposed to be clean but some of the point retractions or failings on these videos are just basically stupid... All instructors are safe and grounded when driving off the job, but they do all the same mini mistakes they fail their students for..

Either way i usually just stay behind the bus and wait it out. It can be a little time consuming but it doesn't risk my safety jf there's suddenly a car i didn't see and also here the other lane is often/usually the opposite direction so it's really hard to see what's coming from the other side without already putting yourself at risk then again our busses usually also have little side pockets to stop in but not always
