How Easily can you Softlock Mario games?
Starts with Mario Maker 2
Me: *Places a square of one-way gates, then jumps into it* DONE!
Faster route would be doing it in the first game, any time before SMM2
@@davidthecommenter just place the mechanism on tile in front of the player I SMM1 and bam.
that way a level can be beaten.
Of course since this is theoretical, we don't need to beat the level.
That is actually not a softlock. A True softlock is where the game doesn’t freeze or crash but you can’t exit the level or anything and you have to physically restart the game.
@@patrykpiekarz1263 The dour one way gate method is not a true softlock, as you can simply quit the level or start over. A trie softlock would require you to exit the game entirely.

The NSMBWii coin fountain is one of my favorite glitches in any video game. It’s ridiculously easy, almost comically so, and it’s very useful.

In Mario Kart DS, you can crash the game by selecting Luigi's Mansion, driving up to the stairs and then, on the stairs, just press A, B and Left.
Not sure if the buttons are exactly right.
Also, another way to crash Super Mario 64 DS is by going to Shifting Sand Lands and selecting any star besides 1 and 5. Reason being is because to do this, you need Klepto to attack you, and in those two stars, that isn't gonna happen, since in star 1, Klepto's holding a star in his talons and in star 5, he isn't in the level. What you need to do now is grab one of those wooden boxes and then make your way over to where Klepto is. If Klepto sees you, then he'll attack and if that happens, and you're still holding the box, the game will crash the second Klepto touches you.
You can also crash Super Mario Odyssey if you fall into the lava at the same time you capture Bowser.

Performing the Continue glitch won't work, since it spawns you back at the first level of World 36, or the Minus World.

For those who question : the orb from Super Mario World is an object that you can utilise when pressing select. It will fall for 1 second and then will stop in the air. Collect it and you will automatically finish the stage.
Note : the orb is green
it really depends on how do u do it as it will always create a different item because it reads from a specific memory address iirc
@@DensenBro I completely forgot that I posted this comment here. But indeed, there are multiple glitched items in the game, before of adresses and technical mess. Also, the green orb that I talked about is present as a normal item in one level, where it replaces the goal in the end.

There's an easier way to crash Mario Maker. In Story Mode, use the Assist Mode to place a pow under a course specific power up, and game should crash. Though, it's probably patched by now.

The first one can also be done with the 4 retro style objects in 3D World. For example: Since a koopaling wasn’t intended to be in 3D World, using this glitch on retro items on the 3D World style also crashes the game. (PS: You need to be lucky for the 3D World style to show up on Coursebot. So keep that in mind.)

SMB negative 1 world is basically an infinite repeating level. When you exit the level it will just throw you right back to the beginning. This will continue until time runs out
