- Tesla Cybertruck is finally here, and I got to see it in person as a Ford F-150 Lightning EV Truck owner. Tesla Cybertruck vs Ford F 150 Lightning, here are my Cybertruck impressions and thoughts.
- Auta a dopravní prostředky
Forgot to react to the cost of the Cybertruck. Starting price at $61K for rear wheel drive with 250 mi range seems like a lot. Not to mention that version is available in 2025 which will be outdated by the time it comes out. Seeing this, I think Ford may raise the Lightning price again.
Outdated ? Realy 🙂.
@@didierpuzenat7280 I was thinking like any modern technology, 1-2 years is a lot with those battery specs. I am speculating, but if Chevy and Ram does pull off their EV truck by the time 2025 comes around, yes I do think the Cybertruck with 250 mi range won't be the new shiny object anymore.
@@EVTruckLOG First, I do not see own Chevy or Ram or anyone can make a truck with so much innovation even in 2 years, not to mention produce it in mass. But the main point is that Tesla never stays still. The Tesla model 3 has always evolved, the software (over the air) but also the hardware, so much that in other brands they would probably say it is not the same car. So I am sure that the characteristics of the Cybertrucks sold in 2025 will be quite different than today. And regarding only batteries, the specs are not evolving so much, most "revolutions" announced in the news stay in labs. So I think the main changes regarding batteries in 2 years will be much more availability and probably lower prices, probably LFP batteries (since density will not be an issue for a lower range vehicule) made in the USA, and it is quite probably why the 61 k$ Cybertrucks will only arrive in 2 years. Ford and other ICE brands can lose money on each EV then sell by increasing the price of their ICE models, Tesla cannot, when the production line will start batteries must flow and at the suitable price.
@@didierpuzenat7280 Technology evolves rapidly which render some systems obsolete quickly. Just like an iphone. In just a year or two, a new model comes out with much better features. Your old phone still works, but it doesn't have the newest capabilities, and soon, new apps might not even work on it. This is similar to what can happen with smart vehicles.
@@TheBoxster1998 Ever heard about software update ?
In short, cybertruck is the amazing truck. I came to demo shop and talked to many people there they said they really like.
The Cybertruck AWD standard range ($79,990) is priced almost identical to the Ford Lightning Lariat with the extended battery ($77,495). The Lariat trim level is the closest match to how the Cybertruck AWD is equipped. Once you add a few options to have the Lariat more closely match the Cybertruck the Lariat becomes more expensive. The Cybertruck standard range (340 miles) has 20 more EPA miles than the Lariat with extended range battery (320), a little more horsepower, almost 10x the torque, a longer bed, and a little more payload and towing capacity. It also charges at 350 kW vs 250 kW (on a V4 supercharger). The Cybertruck’s software and safety features are far ahead of the Lightning’s.
I like the futuristic look actually. I like it's strong body panel, drive by wire, 17 inches clearance, 170 degree max steering ratio, 48 volt battery, tesla software and driving experience. I am in a quarter millions in preorder line. I gladly wait for two years let them work out the glitches and buy one for me.
I love the look, so clean, strong and different. I like it can close down in the back, less air resistance, project your stuff and is so strong you can jump on it. You kan throw a baseball at 80 mph on the Windows, hit the metal with a hammer and nothing will breake, that in itself would make me a customer.
Cybertruck will be a great upgrade from our 11 year old Model S. Dent proof. Best tech. FASTEST charging.
11 year old!? That's impressive. I'm assuming it's still doing great for you to keep it that long!
Snowmobile trailers have been around for decades. Why people think this thing is impressive, Must be on something
Really. If you don't need a pickup why would you want it? Too big for me, pain in the neck. Love the S.
I would recommend that you wait a year or two before getting one. First models are the most expensive and tend to have issues. Remember that the model X was $130k and now you can get the same model for just around $90k or even less
Another one of the best features with the Cybertruck for me is the industry leading undercarriage clearance for off road use...
Love it! Was shocked when it was announced but loved it the next day. Grew on me faster than any other car.
Hope you got to see it or get to see it in person. It hits different for sure! 😁
Hope so too! :D @@EVTruckLOG
Me too! It’s gorgeous to me
If you're worried about the sharp corners, just buy those foam corner tape for child proofing. :)
Haha I have a lot of those left over 😆👍
Bullet Proof Steel that will outlast any current vehicle. Gorilla Glass windows and windshield, no more cracks. 10 degrees of rear steer. Low speed 180 steering ratio and hi speed steering stability ratio. Future Proof. Big interior & tons of space. Timeless design??? Only negative I see with it is the mileage.
That first paragraph should be a voice over for a bad ass Cybertruck commercial. 👍😁
Gorilla Glass will still chip, and a chip, even after filling, leaves a glare in front of you if the sun is right. So make sure you have $0 comprehensive for insurance.
For the record, I reserved a tri motor 2 years and I will wait as long as necessary to get it. In my mind no other truck comes close in comparison. Not even close.
Your car insurance is going to be phenomenal.

I would rather have a smaller Frunk to get a longer bed & incorporated stock bed cover that is actually extremely durable with the angled bed is amazing.
The best part about the Cybertruck tonneau is how it blocks the back window when closed. Incredibly innovative.
@@dirtfpv lmao you dont need to physically look out of the back when the camera view is 10X better and has no obstructions. It’s 2023 not 1995 get with the times
@@zandercerlong7238 10X better, you say? So the resolution of that camera is 10 times higher than that of a human eye? Or is that just some made-up multiplier? The camera is on the tailgate. There isn't one pointing at the bed. Looking out the back window is for more than seeing beyond a tailgate. A real truck has one at the tailgate and the bed. Cybertruck has no bed camera. It's a neat tonneau, but would have been way cooler not blocking the back window like a fuckin' panel van.
If I'm to get with the times, I'm not buying a vehicle that looks like Lara Croft's tits from a 1996 video game.
@@dirtfpv lol saying 10X is mostly a figure of speech more so than an exact mathematical point. Figures of speeches are these things we use in the English language. & no one gives a rats ass whether you like the vehicle or not fact is its the most pre ordered vehicle in the history of automobiles. Just CZcams people’s reaction for the CyberTrucks that are now sitting inside showrooms across America almost every person who thought the truck was ugly from pics and vids were floored at how awesome it actually is in person. I can attest it is “10X” more bad ass in person. Btw there is a window in the back of the bed with really great lighting so you can see into the bed while driving, & the camera feed does not have to be the exact same resolution as the human eye for it to be amazing.
thanks for letting us hear your thoughts from f150 holder perspective, it was really interesting to hear
Thanks so much! It was an interesting video to make for sure! 😄
Key innovations: Steer by wire, 48 V low voltage system, new stainless steel alloy exterior.
Other key advantages: Longer bed, better ground clearance, faster, tows more, better handling, more durable (both exterior panels and glass), software.
Price: Initially high to cover 4 years of inflation since announcement and because early purchasers willing to pay a premium. Prices will decline as production ramps and will squeeze competitors.
It will NOT be outdated in 2025 - that is 13 months away! and other OEMs are not going to leap frog this beast or even come close to catching up in 13 months.
Good summary. You may be right in about 13 months. Most EV trucks have been all talks no walk. That includes Cybertruck up until now. They may delay that base model too. But in terms of advancing forward on what other EV truck has to compete against, no doubt they set the bar high.
Cybertruck looks great. Wish the waitlist wasn't like 2 years...
More like 4 years...
Great perspective. The wiper will be wiping downwards instead of up like traditional so snow shouldn't be a problem. The sharp corners are a security measure 😅. The frunk is fine to me. It's usable for different cases but makes a nice bench.
Haha yep no one is gonna want to be in a road rage scenario with this truck 😆. The frunk shape does look like a nice bench. Get some cushions,,,, 👍
@EVTruckLOG 🤣🤣🤣 Love it. That's a great tag line, "Road rage resistant."
Nice job. CT is Truck 2.0. People will slowly realize how much is going on.
The features I want to know more about are steer-by-wire, 48 volt electrical system, 800 volt drive train/battery and 350 kw charging on Tesla V4 Superchargers (and probably 3rd party 350 kw chargers). Apparently, the battery can be separated into 2 functional 400 volt batteries so that it can also charge at the maximum 250 kw on existing Tesla V3 Superchargers.
That is an overlooked feature imo as most of the so far few dc fast chargers outputting higher than teslas v3s are all 1000v chargers.
So it's possible when they adopt nacs plugs(already underway. Then a ct will likely charge as fast on 3rd party chargers as on the v4s which are just now really gaining rollout steam globally. 👍🏻
The Lightning and Rivian R1T are both great trucks. The need to license software from Tesla and both should have adopted NACS charging two years earlier. I'm rooting for them both, but for the previously stated reasons, I wait for my Cybertruck which I probably won't get until '2027.
Good luck getting the CyberTruck if you don’t already have a reservation. Maybe 5-7 years out at full production.
Glad to see you back on CZcams. Very few videos from people with a standard range Lightning, so look forward to more from you.
Hey thanks! Great to be back. Yes I got lot to say about the standard range and how the battery is holding up. Hope to see you in the next video!
Cyber truck looks awesome….reminds me of a delorean slightly. I would love one….if I had money lol 😂 Great thoughts
Paul!! It's a 4 bit Delorean! Haha. I want one too but we'll have to wait a long time. Great to see you here. Thanks man!
I have a very early CT, reservation ~50,000, I will sell it to you for a very reasonable price. I sold my Lighting Pro this summer for a 2023 Ford Ranger(I use it to tow a small travel trailer. Currently drive a Nissan Ariya Venture + (304 epa miles) and love it!
It's impressive how many reservation Tesla has for this vehicle. I decided on my path of EVs. I'll share on my channel soon. I appreciate you!
It's bulletproof! How much safer can it get.
all the other vehicles on the road are obsolete from now on, period!
Bro, you have to buy it so you can do reviews the way you do them. You have a great way about you love your editing and love your unique perspectives.
I’m not in the marker for an EV truck but if I were I’d get the Cybertruck. Tesla is the leader in the EV field. Similarly as I looked at EVs before i got my model S, it boiled down to who was the expert. It’s like going back to 1995 and choosing between a Microsoft PC and “something else”
I'm surprised I haven't heard from any CZcamsrs that because of the 6-ft bed and 6000+ gvrw that you can write off the entire purchase on your tax return (same as any other HD truck with a >= 6-foot bed) assuming you haven't hit the $1-million write-off limit.
Cybertruck vs F150 fronks maybe biggest disappointment for CT. But there is a secure enclosed "vault" in the rear, not an open bed, w CT.
Yeah the cyber truck rules them all and I don't really think you truly get it until you own a Tesla the Software is to die for and the charging infra structure is perfect. We have 3 Tesla and travel a lot and we love the Tesla superchargers. LOOK the engineering on everything is way way beyond the competition.
I wanted an EV truck since the beginning of Tesla. Unfortunately the Cybertruck is just too expensive. $50k was my hard cap.
That $39k intro price seem so foreign now. That was a huge jump. Wonder what kind of state and federal tax credit will be available in 2025 for their base Cybertruck.
Just work 3 jobs and live in a cybertruck. Hey, at least you have a cybertruck. 🤣🤣
@@TheBoxster1998 haha 😆
@@EVTruckLOG I hope NONE. I am tired of paying taxes to support buying you a new car.
@@bob-qi4nrhaha sorry. 😂 I better make a money saving video in exchange 😁🙏
Thank you for a review that’s not Tesla fan boy or Elon bad.
CT is hideous, but the *lift* sounds really good, esp. when Lightning is stuck at 9.5", which is the same as our Subaru. I'm also curious whether CT will work for "truck stuff"... what about the *lumber rack* ... the factory one looks *tilted*.... how well will the load stay on *that thing*. I also like the quoted V2H... 11kW, and only one "extra box" to make it work. The Ford has *3* , excluding the charger.
The small frunk seems like a mistake. The Ligthning Frunk is *awsome*.
Have you seen the SIZE of that windshield wiper motor? Looks prepared to break ice for ages.
Thank you for posting. I ordered 2 of them. Do you think you'd trade your Lighting in for a CT?
2?!? You’re either getting ready for apocalypse or make profit. 😁👍I’m may consider selling my Lightning. Which EV to get next not sure yet.
@EVTruckLOG I think I'll just keep them. I ordered the Duel motor 4 months after the reveal and Tri maybe a year after the reveal.
@@Livelifelove82 haha getting ready for apocalypse it is then 😁😁👍 No running zombie will be able to catch up to your Cybertruck 👏👏

My name is cyber truck and after 5 years in hell, I'm back with only one goal, to save my city, and in order to do that I have to become someone else, I have to become something else!
I just love it
You forgot to mention the longest range is only 340 miles, originally they say it would be over 500 miles
But the cybertruck is bulletproof and it’s like a mini tank and when it comes to car accidents you know you are safe in the cyber truck bc CYBERTRUCK is hard as a rock
He’s alive!
Haha yes!!!
I’ll Pass on cybertruck. Hope 48v and drive by wire come to other EVs
I don’t really care about looks and the specs seem decent (was hoping for mind blowing). However 4x4 is required for me to do my job so that puts the cheapest model for me at 80k. That’s just too much for me to to even entertain the idea. I’ll be keeping my lightning pro for the foreseeable future.
Forgot to react to the price. Yeh, that made me realize Lightning is a really good value especially the Pro and XLT.
@@EVTruckLOG Not sure Ford can sustain such prices, and not sure overpricing ICE cars to make Ford EVs "affordable" is neither sustainable. Anyway, the more brands are producing EVs, the more EVs on the roads, so let's hope it will work for all brands, to reach net zero by 2050... and for our children to have a future.
@@didierpuzenat7280 Grow up. They have been crying climate change for 50 years. The end of the world was supposed to be in 2020.
@@bob-qi4nr Maybe you should not watch only fox news, then you may understand. Anyway, hopefully most governments are driven by science, international agreements already exist, and many countries have now plans and even laws to meet net zero by 2050, even if big oil lobbying is fighting hard to make as a lot of money as possible whatever the consequences.
Guys remember that the first two trims qualify for the EV federal tax credit so you’re not going to pay $80k. The real price is $72k.
Also, Tesla is known for reducing their prices overtime so I’m sure it will come down in price in about two years.
With that angle it cause a problem for vehicle behind it, flying snow, alert alert.
Haha I could totally see that, unless it’s another Cybertruck behind it. Which case flying chunk of snow ice will bounce right off the windshield at that angle 😆 back to square one.
Guarantee tow hooks aren't plastic.
I only scanned through this video but the one thing I heard was so stupid.. "I wouldn't let my kids around this truck". Like being around any truck that has a trailer hitch or front rock guard, or winch or any metal bumper corner is different somehow..??
You’re trying to apply logic on something I said as a joke. Just trying to have little fun on these video I make as a hobby. I won’t call this comment stupid tho.
Evidently he didn't see the Cyber trucks and display that had the mismatched door panels up at the top where it meets the roof where the Gap was from 1/4 inch to a half inch and the left rear door panel on one was sticking out in front of the other door where you can see the back Gap and that was just the highlights I didn't like the fact of to get a range extender you lose your storage in your tailgate because of sticking another battery pack in there at the system wasn't built directly handle and extended range let alone the fact that Tesla has never ever fixed the problems they have with their batteries like shorting out in water yeah they can run through a puddle but I seen a Tesla car off loading a trailer into the lake to launch a boat the car lost traction slid into the water you could see the spark shooting out from it and then it ended up as a ball of flame until it's sunk into the water and even our local fire departments they have orders just let it burn because it costs too much to waste materials to put it out
Hahahahahaha….the inside of that Ford looks like a boombox from the 1980’s…..man, you gotta get in line for a Cybertruck asap!
Pedestrian damage linked to height of hood and its angles... So CT can be safer than F150...
No spare tire, no rear visibility, less storage, awkward side access to the truck bed... it just doesnt seem practical for using it as a truck. Very practical as a head turner/attention getter
Haha that about sums it up. Sure did turn my head LOL
CT more storage and covered.
You sound salty as hell.
It’s way stronger than a regular truck and how is the bed access any different than any other truck
The sides are way taller, you can't easily throw things in the bed or get things out from the side of the truck.@@austinzizzi1142

Cybertruck is the new truck evolution! Your ford lighting looks outdated already!!●
I hate the minimalist design in an automobile, especially Tesla.
The Cybertruck is just very unpractical!
Has a truck... The trunk is not big enough 🙄. That can be a complaint in a sedan. Truck shouldn't suppose to have a truck to begin with so I don't really see why you would have a problem with that.
I thought so too, until I tried the Mega Power Frunk. Silly name, but once you go MPF, hard to go back. Having two large entirely different compartment for different purpose was game charging for me. But sure, not everyone needs a frunk like the Lightning.
@@EVTruckLOG I can see that. The thing with cybertruck is that there's so much new tech and advancement that I wouldn't care about a frunk. I believe there is a trunk in the bed of the truck. Just the fact that your truck will never get dinged in any parking lot is major. Imagine that your car will never have a dent in it. Or the fact that the rear tires turn and it can make a turn better then a sedan, or that you can literally walk on the bed cover without damaging it. Bunch of new advancements inside and out.
@@_lu9 it’s really impressive what they were able to do. No doubt. I knew they weren’t just sitting around for past four years. 😄 Ford and others have a lot to catch up.
I ordered the Dual Motor Cybertruck @ $50k 4 years ago.The dual motor Cybertruck at $80K is a complete nonstarter for me I bought a Lightning XLT 3 months ago.for $65K. I love it. Plus Ego Musk's descent into Right-Wing Madness is a huge reason not to subsidize Tesla, or "X" or anything else he's involved with.
Hey Steve! I can't believe it's been 4 years already. Lots of things happened since then. I'm glad the mystery pricing has finally been clarified. The Lightning all the sudden looks like a really good value. I'm glad you're enjoying your truck! Elon is wild with his remarks for being a CEO of almost a trillion $ net companies.
Many people find that Musk has a left-wing madness environmentalist agenda. So maybe Musk is just as all of us, ie a complex humain, but with a *HUGE* audience and many people (and medias) ready to fire. And it is clear that Musk boldly go to the future, if not EVs would not be a thing and the car industry would be doomed (you know, climate change).
Buyers Remorse on that Lightning I imagine.
The ICE Frame without being Covered properly, totally exposes the Battery pack to Corrosion and Mud, WTF.
The more CT’s on the road , the more Dated these "compromised half n half" trucks will look.
That CT is Iconic enough to be The Standard for Toughness and Durability. No Paint - No dents or scratches.
Btw. Those corners and edges on CT are all honed to prevent slicing but could bruise more easily for sure.
Give me the Minimalist Interior any day.
Cheers.
