I was okay with a Hobbs spin off cause I liked his character a lot, but when it was announced that it’d also feature Shaw I was a little less excited cause I hate that they’re trying to take the man WHO KILLED HAN and make him a protagonist instead of an antagonist, and then I was a little more excited again when they cased Idris Elba because I love Idris, then I saw the first trailer and just gave up entirely on the movie

His speech had my eyes so far in the back of my head. Like, you say you're coming for Will Smith's career, but bigger and better???? Bruh, you've had as many (if not more) lemons of movies as Will. Tooth fairy, Game Plan, and Race to Witch Mountain??? And those are just the well known duds. Let's face it, he's a 2-bit actor who has a couple funny punchlines and a lot of muscle. And that's all that's going for him. He's literally Maui just without the character development.......still thinking he made everything and we should be eternally grateful to him.
yeah i'm still convinced that this movie franchised started because someone wanted a more supercharged remake of point break.
And even then, any of the 8 are better than the actual Point Break remake.
Check out No Man's Land with Charlie Sheen. It's F&F with Porsches, it came out before Point Break.
I'm not even gonna lie: I literally grew up with a this franchise. It hasn't been the same since Paul died but I'll still watch all the ones that drop because... It's entertaining

I like the Rock, it's kind of amazing how he's taken his career from WWE heel, to just-barely-not-a-B-movie muscle man, to being a huge actor. And the fact that he always puts entertainment value first makes him come across as way less naval-gazing than a lot of hollywood does.
That being said... I love Vin Diesel and his pet projects. I love that he takes his movies so seriously. He does what I think a lot of comic book movies should do. He goes all-in on the crazy concept, all in on the cheezy one-liners and action set pieces, but plays the story out like it's shakespear.

if they are going a 10th film they should go back to the roots... with Bryan`s Son and Dom`s Son as the Main Leads not those Cueballs

So I finally watched Hobbs and Shaw and I really liked it. Not sure if its cause of covid or not following the series for a while, but it was legit fun. Really wanna know where the thing with Eteon goes and the cast was amazing, Vanessa Kirby is gonna be huge. She can literally act in anything, very excited to see where her career goes.
This is my favorite channel on CZcams. I actually care about the content. But black Superman was the perfect line.

Outside of the original & Fast 5 (with special mention for the send off 7 gave Paul Walker RIP)I have to say Hobbs & Shaw is the next in line in my franchise rankings. The problem I have with Vin Diesel getting all precious about the franchise is because when he left the Fast movies it was to do what he deemed at the time to be more “worthy” work and he thought the xxx franchise would be about him & him alone. For those who remember how all that played in the Hollywood press at the time realise he’s not that loyal to the family in reality! Either way though, let the Fast movies carry on being as ridiculous as ever and goddam I also want more of Hobbs & Shaw!
I truly think F&F is now a super hero franchise. I mean, Torreto lived through car wreck after car wreck without much as a scratch, the Rock damn near plowing down building walls and throwing people around, him and Statham fighting a cyborg out of some anime series. Might as well start making a super hero comic book franchise out of F&F.
I like the Rock to a certain degree but he doesn’t really have much acting range. His career at this point is more tracking towards Arnold and Stelone then Will Smith...after a few more years of the same type of movies. People will grow tied of him and dump him aside.

His problem is as you said. Like Will Smith, he will eventually be just acting himself. People talk about Will Smith in movies like Suicide Squad and already say " Will Smith plays Will Smith, hes good at playing Will Smith, but not really anything else anymore".
