this movie is the exact same (but opposite) of Immaculate. Funny to have them in theaters simultaneously
I watched them back to back and got so much whiplash lol
I watched immaculate first & then saw the trailer for the first omen & got so confused that they did a rerelease under a new name
This one is way better
My exact thoughts after watching both of them lol crazy
Minus like 3 key points , this is just a LONGER Immaculate.
But I love both
The omen definitely gave birth to the final destination series
Okay, but The First Omen was genuinely such a good movie! I’m so glad I was able to experience watching it in the theater. I loved that it didn’t have an abundance of jump scares. It felt like they allowed a lot of the creepy scenes/moments and the actual horrific story to shine without needless loud noises paired with a figure jumping at the camera. My current favorite movie! 10/10, 1,000% would recommend
I enjoyed it both times I saw it. I like they waited till the finale to use the classic Goldsmith theme
Not really. It's just okay.
The possession scene is oscar worthy
The birth scene where the demonic hand was coming out of the Vagina was insanely terrifying! Saw this in theatres and my mouth dropped!!
i was more disturbed about the nudity than the gore
2:52 should calm everyone's gripes about Damien's mother being canonically a jackal. Even Richard Donner himself said the jackal violated his mother, which is what The First Omen shows us
I honestly wasn’t bothered by it at all. The cult could’ve lied about which parent was a jackal
Exactly. It was a lie of jackal was just put there to make point. My big gripe is timeline. 1971 but 1971 in trilogy Damien is 32
Ugh I need to watch Omen again. I've always thought the jackal was the mom
In the omen movies the jackal is the mom. @@vit968
I’ve never seen a jackal with clawed fingers and a giraffe-like tongue.
"You make an appointment with fear." lol, that got a good laugh out of me.
That got me to snicker too. I love the deadpan humor Nighy has
the guy who made the omen made superman (movie) which inspired brightburn thats basically just the omen🤣
I love bill nighy lmao he’s always so real during his interviews
Agreed
The original Omen freaked out my grandma so badly she threw her popcorn at the screen when she watched it in theaters. 😅 she also blessed her husband out for laughing at her.
As a Nun, I’m really surprised to see us as the new ultimate horror character. The Nun, Black Narcissus, Immaculate and this, just to mention a few. I did not see this coming
Do some research. The church has been a villian throughout history. Not surprising at all 😂
Wait nuns have CZcams and internet 😮
You really a nun?
@@oru_malayaleezombie7329 lol
@@oru_malayaleezombie7329nuns are free human beings. They join nunneries of their own volition and don’t live in the last century
They gave her the baby at the end because it was important for the child to be with the mother in its early moments after birth in real life. I was suprised they even trusted her with the baby after all of that. That was one of many of their dumb moves.
The movie had lot of ridiculous moments.
She was helpless and had just got her abdomen cut, so they trusted her. Not dumb at all.
My dad bday 6/6/77 lol, it freaked his parents out a bit considering the original Omen came out only a year prior. And yea, they indeed checked for “the mark” lmao 🤣
“You make an appointment with fear,” is a wild statement. Had me on the floor 😂
Hope they do their own take on the omen series especially with this new director. Nell Tiger Frees performance deserves an award, especially that one scene towards the end. 👀
23:16 “Father, I’m gonna need a ride home.” 😂👍🏿
I left the theater totally disturbed by this movie. That hasn't happened since Hereditary.
Hereditary? I feel asleep during hereditary.
You are far too easily disturbed then. 😛 I'm sorry, but this movie was serious overhyped. Same with Hereditary.
Same, the only thing that disturbed me about this move was the music, made me feel uncomfortable for some reason 😅@@englishatheart
By what?
I feel like people just commenting stuff just to comment.
@@englishathearthow are people this dense. Every movie is subjective to your own taste. Some find it disturbing, others boring. Some like it, others don't. Only thing common here is your condecending ass.
The original ( omen ) has always given me the creeps. I felt so sad for Demian; it was like a Roman tragedy, not important what that was his destiny He will become what he was born for. Then, the prequel ( first omen ) is given the same feeling you feel like something can be different, and the story can change but not.
I don’t feel for him. He was an evil little shit that killed many with his abilities and finally got what was coming to him in the third movie.
"before he could swipe left, he gets swiped right" this had me rolling 🤣
I've never watched any of the Omen movies, but I have watched Good Omens. I love all the references that connect them!
That poster gag😂
The marketing for this is fantastic. Making the actors talk about supposed "creepy" stuff happening on set.
Every cast of horror movies does that. They did that for the original Amityville Horror (James Brolin didn't believe the Lutzes yet claimed weird stuff happened in interviews for the movie), the cast of the Conjuring movies claimed weird stuff happened, etc.
Only reason im interested in watching this is because of Nell Tiger Free shes on her way to becoming a Scream Queen like Maika Monroe 🥰
What ever happened to the rest of the girls in the orphanage when they burned the whole place down?
I never saw the original but after watching The First Omen I went back to watch the original and I loved it
I know this is gonna sound weird, I remember going to the theater on 6/6/06 I remember getting home as I was getting out of the car. I was talking on the phone with my friend as I was crossing the street to go to my building a car out of nowhere the speeding down the hill if I would’ve taken another step, let’s just say I would not be here typing this !
Favorite horror movie of the year so far.
Creepy, gross, and a great performance by Nell Tiger Free!
She's come a long way since Game of Thrones.
She was engaging here & really led the show well
She's not Gilly though...
Bill Nighy shaming us horror fans 😂 love
Loved it 😂
Good thing i didnt know any of the previous original films. I enjoyed it a lot
Wait, if both babies were born June 6 at 6:00 a.m., how did they know the original baby wasn't the antichrist
Because of a birthmark that appears on its head I think.
Cause the antichrist is male
And it has to be a boy. The other baby is a girl.
Wow. I was PLEASANTLY surprised how good this was.
I am HORRIBLY different to please as well! 😂
Nell Tiger Free played the same role as in Servant basically, same hair color, same American accent, same timid personality
It's a solidish prequel. i was curious on how'd they get to the 70's Omen from here...and how they do it...not too bad. This also had some similar story elements to Immaculate...I think this executed them better...it was pretty laughable in Immaculate.
What's crazy is I did a double feature and saw The First Omen right after Immaculate not knowing much about The First Omens plot and the amount of Deja Vu was crazy but The First Omen def did it better
Actually it doesn't work because third omen movie Damien is 32 in 1971
Doesn't work because 1971 in trilogy Damien is 32
'70s*
The father's voice goes crazzyy
"They've even given it a name..DAMIEN"🔥
if you saw the show servant, you knew nell tiger was a fkn star and could definitely kill this lead role and that alone made ME excited to see this film and it was so much better than i even thought it would be
Got she played Marcella a few episodes
I watched it in Dolby too! It was greattttt.
My Mom and I loved watching The Omen movies together. I wanted to name my child Damien but my spouse said no names from movies, tv shows, books I’ve read.
aaaahh :
Keep that to yourself
Your husband is a wise man.
Maybe he just didn't want to name.his baby after the name used for the antichrist in a movie you'd seen.
Not the irony of it being rated 6.6/10 😂
The disney shoutouts was perfect 🤭🤭
Keep going, keep going, keep going.
“On the way to ‘planned Protestants’”
I love it! 🤣
No apostrophe in plurals. It's just "Protestants."
@@englishatheart Thank you for the heads up! (Autocorrect is a bitch 😅)

I acc liked this film. It wasn’t a boo horror type film but more a psychological sickening film. I felt so bad for Margaret bc of her “faith” and I couldn’t fathom it happening to another person . It was rlly disturbing to think of .
*Actually* *because* *really*
Crowley and Aziraphale to the rescue
4:00 I swear, he sounded like the dad in Gremlins.
the origami scared the crap out of me especially the music
"SPEED RUNNING HER BIRTH" WAS FUNNY
Honestly, the First Omen is by far the best instalment in the series and one of the best horrors in years.
As a Christan idk why people think this series is evil Jesus literally saves the day and kills the main baddy
The most beautiful director ❤
Want to see a good untold spin-off of The Omen, go see Problem Child. It's a pretty good one.
Lmao 😂
The amount of time I had to look away in the theater because this isn't my type of horror movie. That being said I was intrigued
MOVIES WERE SOO GOOD WHEN I WAS LITTLE...THIS MOVIE WAS SOO SCARY TO ME
EXACTLY LIKE IMMACULATE I watched it a week before watching this one the similarities were insane.
I liked the old movies I remember watching it when they played it all on Halloween on satellite tv years ago
Please give ur take on immaculate
They also mess with the time Damien was born
Oh wow so early! Movie looks good
it wasn't too bad. It did what Immaculate wanted to do, better.
The Second First & Sixth Omen
😂😂 sides note,...thanks for the fun background music,...makes it less creepy.
So we not gon act like akasha is hotly scary in her own way as the director … like im crushing girl 🥰🥰🥰 your so creepy 🤣😂🤣
So, is this just a prequel to the original- or is it a reboot?
Prequel. Not a reboot. Leads right to the original
Bad year setting. Damien trilogy is Damien is 32 in 1971
I absolutely couldn't stand the remake. The OG Omen is the absolute best. Part 2, not bad
I LOVED this movie. Interestingly, it shared the nearly the same exact premise as "Immaculate," a film that left me quite disappointed and I found to be rather subpar. However, "The First Omen" was genuinely impressive. It was visually stunning, and I absolutely loved the cinematography and camera angles.
"if Jesus saves, now so can you!" Is freaking brilliant 🤣🤣
Father lannister and Bill Nighy the religious guy 💀
Is it just me or did Luz resemble Mrs Baylock at the end? Are they supposed to be the same character? I know age wise bit of an age gap but if they're changing a bunch of things from the story it could be a possibility?
😯🤔
Anybody have a link that says it’s restarting the timelines? Because everything I read says the sequels are still canon
They could do a sequel to this movie without touching the originals. There is info in the movies that could make good storylines. How about how did mrs. Baylock,Paul buhar, and Damiens aunt Ann all find their selves part of the plan. Were they seduced by satan? I think that even though its different motives the Satanists will collaborate with the crazy church that birthed the antichrist. They will be working together to rise him up. In a new movie stuff could be going in about Damien that has nothing to do with altering the original movie.
That's thing because in Damien trilogy Damien is 32 in 1971
Dead lift him lmaoooo 😂
Truck-kun made it into Hollywood 😂😂😂
really recommend the game.
The walls would knock and nobody theeeeaaa 😁
Watched it yesterday. I thought it was OK.
Listennnnn.
I watched the 2024 version yesterday. This was actually a good movie..not as good as the original ones and even the 2006 one. It was indeed more of a final destination than horror..it had also some tacky jump scares.payed some tribute to the previous movies.
I mean this series walked so the final destination franchise could run.
I really enjoyed this film an excellent prequel to the original
This movie was hella good I just watched it for the second time
Went and watched the remake when it released on 6/6/06 lol.
Great movie
Not a bad movie except for the wrong time period being used, it should have been the 1950's not 1971.
You'd think they'd figure this out before going ahead with unworkable continuity.
24:07
Ang on???
Im lost now🤦🏻♂️
lmao her falling out the window at the hospital edit
I'm ngl this movie did they're big one it's good
Galaxy brain theory that the powers that be didn’t want people watching the ‘first’ omen so they made this the first result in such a google
A problem with old horror movies is… they’re old. Sure, they’re creepy, but they’re dated. The cinematography, the effects, the essence of what’s ‘scary’ is all old. A movie that’s 40/50 years old is vastly different from a current film.
that is completely untrue for some films. the original texas chainsaw massacre is still one of the creepiest films on the planet, the exorcist is still a brilliant film, original the hills have eye is filled with uneasy shots. hell, texas chainsaw massacre has shots that are referenced to this day, you can see the influence in X which was released in 2022. while i think that the original omen is decent and not as creepy as other movies today. yet, you could see its brilliance by how influential it is to modern day horror.
@@venicecokeheadI'm pretty sure the age is what works for movie TCM because it gives the horror a sort of court room evidence vibe
@@venicecokeheadthe Texas chainsaw massacre is probably the only old scary movie that is kinda scary. Even then I don’t consider it scary. I consider it gross. Horror movies don’t really scare me as an adult. But I will always prefer a plot driven horror movie vs a gore fest
finally someone said it
I can tell the OP did NOT grow up in the 70's & 80's at the height of excellent Horror Cinema. The entire atmosphere of The Omen from the music score, to the cinematography is completely psychological and spine chilling. Is it dated as in set in it's time?? Yes, it is. But then again so is "The First Omen". To me, there is NO difference. One was filmed in modern times set in 1971 and given literally the amber sepia tones .... And the other was the real deal from 1976.
Ok
9/10
📽️⭐🌞☀️🌟🌅📽️
I honestly thought The First Omen was great and i went in thinking it was going to be rubbish..so it was a pleasant surprise to watch an old school horror.
0:30 lol I okay lady…
review IMMACULATE pleaseee
Sux
this movie is so confusing im just gonna forget about it
20:23 lmao 😂 did no one catch that joke?
I only watched this preuel because of Nell Tiger Free
This movie sounds like immaculate with Sydney Sweeney
woah, i'm early
👍🏼
I need explanation. If they got demon down there, why need another one?
I think the idea was to have a half demon half human antichrist, like Jesus himself to some extent, walk amongst other humans and lead them all lol 😅
Jesus being half of god and human
bro how come these people had more "creepy" stuff happening during the making of the movie, than my whole blasphemous ass, what
It wasn't too bad. I didn't like the reconning and addition in the end. Are they hoping to continue the story?? Damien died so...idk.
Damien didn’t die in the first omen lmao
What are you talking about? Did you even watch the movie
Delia and Alexander lived and so did Damien's twin
Correction Jackal Daddy
