After I saw this video I just gave it a try with scotch tape… And what should I have to say it’s working perfectly. No issues anymore.

Finally! I have two full sleeves and have had an Apple Watch for years. Never have been able to use Apple Pay, Wrist Detection, or have a passcode on my Watch. No one ever talks about this. Please Apple, watch this video!

I had the ultra and I have two full sleeves and had to wear it on my right wrist cause the tattoos are not as dark so I took it back and bought the garmin epix gen 2 with no issues

I LITERALLY just upgraded my watch to the 8 because I thought mine was faulty just to find out the activity tracker still kept pausing!!! Pissed to find out that it’s because of my tattoos on my left wrist 😤😤😤 Will this help fix my issue because I really want to wear it on my left arm lol
OMG...thank you!!! I have been screaming this from the mountain tops for 5 years. I am a tattoo artist and Apple Watch user and I HATE that they are fuckiong ignoring this issue. So thank you Peter for helping spread the message even more.
Literally nothing can be done. They arnt ignoring it, as they give explicit warnings about this on their site. Optical sensors simply don’t work on some tattooed skin.

When I bought my first one, this issue caught me off guard. Thankfully the thin tattoo in my right wrist works with it.

To be fair (and I'm the first to scream "Tim Cook, you are no Steve Jobs!"), this isn't an Apple problem, it's a light problem. Once you figure out how to make black not absorb light, it'll work! I'm thinking the functions that rely on those sensors still aren't going to work, even with the sticker. I also have my right wrist blacked out and have to wear mine on my left.

Peter, the IBIS wobble fix is when Digital IS is on (not just in body stab). It’s been a pretty big improvement for me, hope that helps!

I have been on an android phone for the past seven years, mainly pixel and Samsung. The new Apple Watch Ultra is what made me come back to you the phone.
I don’t even use my Apple Watch Ultra for workouts anymore, it keeps locking on me because it thinks it’s off of my wrist since I have tattoos on my wrist, therefore, it blocks the optical reader. It is completely annoying and the only way to stop it is to take off the Apple Pay, but then it still won’t read my heart rate. My Garmin Fenix 7x sapphire solar’ heart rate only works if I push it below the knob on my wrist, but the Garmin pay always works and the watch never locks on me. Also, the Apple Watch doesn’t count reps in the gym and that’s ridiculous! I where my Garmin to support me on Workouts and the Apple ultra for day to day. When I’m not working out, I strap the Garmin to my ankle so I can still get the metrics. Not to mention the battery life is so much better on the Garmin I’m an amateur athlete, but my workouts can last up to 6 hours with a long run, boxing, biking and weights. I also compete in ultramarathons, and I will only trust my Garmin for that. If this works, you are my saviour. Great video! Apple Bias CZcams channel sent me.

I'll just talk about it in this post. buy burnt sticker, paste it over the sensor, remove the film. It's the same tattoo bandage adhesive. Put hot glue on top. Wait for it to dry and it's ready.
Adhesives and glue over the sensor will only damage the device and cause less reliable readings over time. And typically requires harsh chemicals to take that off. You actually want the lights to pass through as strongly and clearly as possible. The phenomena is centered around creating light tunnels that get closer to the skin.
Does everything work now with your apple watch? I mean can it measure your heart rate or blood oxygen through that sticker?! Amazing video btw
