Hand Cranked Grinder Restoration [Light Grey Bench Grinder]

- This restoration is a hand cranked grinder. The condition of the old grinder is not the worst, but the antique machine is partially rusted, shafts are crooked, paint damage and more I have to eliminate in this project. Many simple techniques are used in the restoration, such as: Sandblasting, working on the lathe, working on the lathe, using a press brake, using rust remover, painting with spray cans, filling the objects, welding, polishing and some more.
The video is a little longer this time, but that's because I don't want to leave out any step or detail. It is not about speed and efficiency in my videos, I'm all about calm and patience to complete the tasks precisely and accurately. It can happen that you invest several hours for a small thing. Therefore, please note that this video is not only to quickly show someone how something works, but it should also help to relax and escape from everyday life!
▬ What did I do ?! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
As with any overhaul, this old grinder has to start with disassembly, which is a lot of small parts and a few large major components. I noticed that one of the shafts was bent and I had to rebuild it during the course of the project. I also had to remake the sleeve for the wooden handle, the shaft for the wooden handle and the wooden holder for the grinding wheel. After I filled and sanded the parts, they were primed, sanded with wet sandpaper, and then painted. I treated the insides of the covers with heat resistant paint so that sparks would not destroy the paint there later. I painted the hand crank sander in light gray, the old remains on the antique machine told me that it must have had this color originally. Turtle helped me a lot with this project again, did you actually notice anything about Turtle?
▬ Good to know ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
I used the following tools: Screwdriver, tweezers, pliers, wrench, pin punch, hammer, water, soap, wire brush, lathe, brush, paint stripper, scriber, ruler, angle grinder, deburrer, cordless screwdriver, drill, sandblasting cabinet, tap, tape, file, sandpaper, welding machine, welding helmet, putty, primer, scalpel, spray paint, heat-resistant paint, sheet metal, chisel, saw, folding bench, rust remover, polishing stand, polishing paste, linseed oil varnish, chisel, lathe, grease

The turtle is the best friend of restoration 😂🐢🐢🐢
Very nice. That takes me back many years. My grandfather had one of these. Thanks for the trip down memory lane
I enjoy the longer videos that show the detail.
And yes your work is an amazing by God.
I like the faces on the turtle lol
🤣🤣👍🐢
어린이도 볼수있게 중간중간에 거북이를 넣는 센스! 아주 놀랍습니다
Congratulations! Great Work! You're amazing keeping all the details
Thank you for your great Feedback! 🐢
excelente. muito bom.
This restoration was really nice. It helps that it wasn't in too bad a condition to start, but you really brought it back to brand new!
Yall are talking about how you fall asleep to these, while here i'm not allowed to touch any device when I want to sleep ;-;
Then how are you commenting on videos if you’re not allowed to touch the technology all around you?
Yo, this is good video.
Crazy how the turtle face is just goofing, also when he was taping inside a hole
So many of these old tools my Dad had in The garage. Its good seeing them again. Good memories of Dad puttering around in the garage.
🤩👍🐢❤️
Really good add on for future eye protection.
Love how you edit your face onto the turtle
Thank you! 🤩🐢
Wow wow wow, toller Job!
I love how you give 🐢 an edited face
I don’t know why I love this channel, but I do!😍

My mechanics would be proud!
Отличная работа! Поздравляю! 👏😀

😅🙈🐢
Great work restoring the grinder. It looks good and it works like charm, too.
Not sure why but your videos fill me with joy. It's always fun to watch and see how things change in your hands!
Thank you very much! 🐢
I have become hooked on these videos, thanks for taking the time to make them. Love the humour as well
Thanks very much! 🐢
The face on the turtle is priceless.
This man could dismantle a car and not make a noise
I love watching your channel. It’s nice seeing 🐢 assist you. I know he was appreciative of the face cover you applied for safety.
🤩🐢👍
Nice, informative captions.
For plugging the screw holes and others, try just shoving a cotton ball into it. It forms to the shape and is easy to remove with needle nose pliers. 👍🏼
I love how turtle has a face now, lol! That alone earned my sub! 🤙🏽
Turtle is adorable and the eye guard is fantastic! You did a very good job restoring it!
Thank you very much! 🐢
I am just in awe of the skills you possess
I love how you put a filter when you welded the hinges, so it was like we put on the mask too. 🤣
a tartaruga é uma das melhores partes
What a transformation! It looks better than new.
🤩👍😊🐢🍻
Your video's is what I watch on my lunch breaks love your work sir keep it going👍👍
Thank you very much! 🐢
Turtle with a face is my new favorite thing 🤣🤣🤣
🤗🤗🤩🐢
Sir, I believe the grinding wheel runs in water for cooling, and as the wheel spins it runs through the water in the reservoir. great work. Have a blessed day.
I think the water serves as like a thing for more friction, kinda like a whetstone. I dunno though.
Turn old thing into a new thing, make it the best video I ever seen
Nice. Another edition to your weapon's factory
I love to see the turtle 😂 is my favorite part 🖤 good Job my friend. 😁👌
Thank you very much! 🤩 🐢
3:52 the turtle stare was a funny detail
I appreciate the filter over the welding sections. My Mechanics is excellent, but they require practicing your safety squint on the welding.
I love it when I see someone that can just be a little silly.
🤣🤷♂️🐢
The welding mask bit with the turtle was so funny
🤣🤣👍🐢
Beautifully done 👍 I liked all the lathe work and the fabrication of the new safety device. Looks amazing.

Hi, very good restoration, just to let you know this was a wet grinder, the base should have water in it, there should be a drain hole with which to drain the dirty water. regards
Looks good
Oooooo!!! Awesome!!
《Pick!》nice)
Great, thank you!
I love this video.
very nice👍👍😘
Very impressive and a lot more patient than me. Keep the videos coming.
Thank you very much! 🐢
3:53 had me so confused!
Шикарно👍👍👍❤️😎
I really don't know how you do it it you should never stop CZcams and Kan you please do a Katana or sword restoration next and keep up the good work
You can save yourself a lot of time and effort by using foam disposable shooters ear plugs to block holes when painting it saves time from taping all those holes. They are very cheap or free at trade shows. You can squish them down for small holes or use 2-3 for largest holes.
I love this tip, thank you so much!!! 🐢🤩👍
11:12 that face caught me so off guard, lmao
also 22:51 I forget to plug things in all the time too, hahaha
Keep up the humor game, I love it so much.
Thank you very much for your great comment! 🤩👍🐢

🤣🤣🐢🐢
Very good Job Love it sieht auf jeden Fall wieder top aus❤️👍❤️
Vielen Dank! 🐢
Another Wonderful Restoration! I think yours looks better than it probably did new! I am so glad that you protected "Mr. Turtles" eyes when you welded!!! I love your Humor! You Sir are: Der Handwerksmeister! I don't speak German, I just went to a Translator page on Google.
And fantastic job
Thank you very much! 😊🐢
Where do you find these gems!!???? Wow! Fantastic!!!

Thank you very much! ♥️🐢
Very nice job, well done.
Thanks so much and great to read from you! 🐢
The turtles face at the beginning 😂
🤣👍🐢
Good very nice 😍🥰😘
Try doing this. Put your thumb of one hand on the end of the screw driver while with the other hand turns the handle. You might not be able to do this because you might be holding a camera. I additionally have a solution for that. There's a device that holds cameras that's able to be worn by the user. It's worn by around a person's chest sk that he or she is able to use both of their hands.
Kolay gelsin.
