Holy Moly, the Soviet sentiment is strong with this one. :D
The ship is not so strong. I could probably sink it.
@@YappyRaccoon Wow. My guys is built different.
7 years on and the Copiuum is even stronger with Russians
With the soviets it's either go big or go home. Loved to see more of these ships in game. They are beautiful.
they are the texas of europe lol
As the Texas was only the Iron Duke of the Americas, it would stand to reason that Iron Duke would be the Texas of Europe..
+Vlad Melis thats an oppinion
Not aIways. They had some tanks that were designed to be smaII, and the crew had to consist of men who were smaII in stature.
305mm guns?!?! And this is a cruiser?!?! What...?!
say that to USA and their Alaska class "cruiser"
The US has the Alaska class, also with 3x3-305mm guns. Classed as a large cruiser. (Alaska, and her sister Guam are the only ships to be classed as such, CB-1 and CB-2)
Alaska was built to counter Japan's own variant in the design, Japan's B65 class Super Heavy Cruiser also sported 3x3-305mm guns, the war ended just monthes before construction start however.
No Alaska was built to counter the mogami and tone class cruisers.
Nothing special. The Americans had Alaska, the Japanese had Azuma and B65 class cruisers ( which were never built )
@@captaincrooked9051 sported 3x3 310mm
How did a cruiser get over 40,000 tons... thats heavier than some battleships!
Nozyspy battlecruisers how
It would’ve been bigger than the Bismarck and the Yamato
Battleships after ww2 become 55+ K tons. This one is battle cruiser. Today Russia has heavy missile cruiser Peter the great. It is bigger and nuclear powered. Designed to kill Carrier groups.
B-A-T-T-L-E-C-R-U-I-S-E-R.
Wow! It's so awesome!
That ship would have been scrap metal against carriers in 1950s
Every cruiser would have been.
not just the carriers at that point the USN were using the Iowa class fast BB an the RN had Vanguard both of which would have decimated this design
Obviously. Don't get me wrong, this thing is an absolute beast, but any cruiser would die from a concentrated aircraft attack, when alone tho.
Petri Luosto this is mostly Stalins idea, he want that since the late 30s. It was plan to be a fast battle ship/battle cruiser and as escort for carrier (6 CV were to be build by 1945 ish) by naval planner of Soviet navy.
Stalins however doesn't like carrier so... After war only the battle cruiser were left of the 6 battleship and 6 battle cruiser design. The 1930 design is quite impressive but almost unachievable by the ship building tech Russian have.
Jon south the battleships are useless in the cold war period, they're an easy target for planes torpedos and the new balistic missiles
Now I wonder what the BATTLESHIP would look like.
Do you guys have a vid on the American T-28/95 otherwise known as the "Doom Turtle"
Jackie Fisher would have approved, I'm sure, amazing speed. These ships would have been the ultimate cruiser killers but this concept was redundant by the time they were being built. They would be minced by anything comparable (Alaska, Renown, Scharnhorst, Dunkerque).
I just watch this again after i saw they implementation of Stalingrad in-game
There are hundreds upon hundreds of real, actually built and used ships to choose from to make these vids, including several russian ships, and they choose one that barely managed to go pass the drawing board and get canceled and scrapped before ever comming into contact with the sea. These aren't even the most interesting designed-but-never-built ships in existence. Seriously, add some variety to this thing. I bet even their russian customers are getting a bit tired and would want to learn more about other navies.
If you want to be bold and do something completely new, as a south american I'd love to see something about the mini arms race between Argentina, Brazil and Chile and the three battleship classes that came out of that. Or maybe something about the austro-hungarian navy. Or the greek armoured cruiser Georgios Averof, which, even if it isn't a battleship, is the only surviving example of semi-dreadnought design. Or what about the spanish navy? The España class battleships are not very well known. You could also talk about french battleships. Their love of quadruple turrets produced some very interesting ships to talk about. You could also do a video or two about the italian Regina Marina. Or just change from one bias to another and talk about the Kriegsmarine. So far you've only made two videos about non-russian ships: one about a british cruiser, and two more about german ships. The rest is only about Russia. That really doesn't help to silence the rumours about russian bias.
Don't get me wrong, I liked this video, but the theme is just too repetitive. It is like another Rocky or Terminator movie. You may like it, but deep inside you're wondering when will they finally move on.
I would love to lead this beauty into battle in game
how do you get the model
So what defines a battleship and a heavy cruiser?
Now you can tell about the Bismarck, my favourite ship in world war II
Looks like the Moskwa :)
this ship is larger than yamato??..... im confused, i dont know that info. WoW
Yamato is smaller than Iowa
Yes it's bigger.

If Russian BB (even though half of them aren't real BB) gonna have small caliber sniper cannons just like its CA line has as a national trait, well, I'm waiting for it.
Huh? Soviets did build 406mm 50 cal naval guns before WW2 for the Sovetski Soyuz class battleships.
So its a hipper class of some sort?
Absolutely awesome vid about an absolutely awesome ship! Damn shame that this cruiser never got to take on the Kriegsmarine. So.....where can I buy the model?
It had impressive AA but it would still have been a white elephant since it would not have been able to operate without massive support against aircraft carriers and subs.
Next prem ship?!?! yaaaaay! I want it now!
New OP Soviet premium ship in WoWs soon? We got Kutuzov, Leningrad, Molotov and Nikolai already, not mentioning new line of OP destroyers coming soon. Well played Wargayming, well played: the strongest war navy in the world: the Soviet one...
This beast is way to idealistic, if they build her at least two decades or more before the war, they should have finish her but that would be difficult because of their technology of that time.
The model is 1:42 and the real thing weights 42 000 tons, that means that the model weights over 1 ton
Agreed the sovetsky soyuz battleship on wows
Looks like a buffed Scharnhorst ...without Torpedoes.
And that alone makes it alot worse close range. Besides im not too sure about reloading. Ok russian bias here but even Dunq got 28 sec with only 330 mm
The historical reload of the russain 305mm guns, which as clearly stated in the video and used elsewhere. These guns could reload on average 20 seconds, at best performance 18 seconds.
(Plus, add in-game mechanics that would boost this reload even further)
Because the game is about realism and not balance. Thats why Gneisenau got 380mm Guns and German Guns are inaccurate as fuck while historicaly it were rather the opposide.
Don´t get me wrong but the game is anythign but hsitorical correct. So i doubt they will just use historical data. Otherwise im missing at least 4,5 km max range on my Scharnhorst.
in terms of gameplay mechanics finding range and estimating lead to the target in the game is very simple compared to reality if BBs were very accurate they would bassicaly dominate the entire game...
ADD THIS IN WORLD OF WARSHIPS NOW!! No, but seriously. Would love to have this
This is basically moskva
BlackSeagull (this is a MORE Powerful Moskva and Moskva is already considered OPAF
So? Would still love to see this implemented in the game
But it has 305 guns :)
Yup
"layed down in 1951"
..... So it was already obsolete when it was layed down as carrier reign on the seas ?
Will we see that ship in the game as another high-tier premium russian heavy cruiser, or maybe as the first high-tier premium russian battleship (battlecruiser)? Who knows...
well... Moskva was the second (planned) stalingrad class
considering this i doubt that wg has some plans to add another stalingrad cruiser, maybe we can get a Kroshtadt-class instead aka the russian gneisenau
Moskva was a proposed downscaled variant of the Stalingrad class which was later denied in favor of 305mm variant since the *battlecruiser* sized one was not that much more expensive than the smaller one
Naw, this is T10 material for a russian heavy cruiser tech tree.
If the Stalingrad get's implemented the USS Alaska is next.
Entonces el buque era un acorazado de disparo rapido
We now know whos the king of the seas now
Take that yamato and bismarck!!!
Bismarck nah Yamato yes but you is right about that
USS Midway Battlegroup would like to know your location.
Looks like a reworked version of an Iowa class BB.
If they add this they should also add the batlecruiser USS Alaska.
Tier 7 BB in Soviet BB line?
Superbattleship Stalingard*
Nah
@@wilhelmthesilverfox1107 gulag
Confirmed
Ultimately super battleship stalingrad
@@wilhelmthesilverfox1107 could the yamato or Iowa class beat this ship?
@@godzefkiel2686 it hard to say really
Why stalin don't make aircraft carrier ? At that time cv is cheap to operate than cruiser
I love Stalingrad.
Anime TH And I hate stalin
I love stalin!!!!
_I love stalin!!!!_
Living in 1930´s Soviet Russia would change that quickly, worry not.
7 years on and the Copium is even more concentrated!!!!
Moskva has 230mm guns with 300mm face armour Сталинград has 305mm guns 250mm armour thats a bit weard .You missed to say what is the thikness of the bow and stern armour .Am i the onlyone who sees a pocket Yamato ?
The biggest problem I have with these Russian paper ship designs is really the range and muzzle-velocity of the guns. Most real life ships had a muzzle-velocity of around 760-m/s to 840-m/s. This cruiser and the Moskva both have a muzzle-velocity of 950-m/s. The problem with these specifications is barrel wear and the reason why other ship guns only fired shells at 840-m/s. More muzzle velocity means a larger charge and greater heat and friction on the barrel as the shell leaves and in turn far fewer shots could be fired from it before the barrel would need to be replaced. Not much of a problem when all your ships are made of Stalinium.
based on some digging on the net some technical data estimated the barrel would withstand around 200-240 shots with this set up so its hard to tell,,most barrels of large caliber in navy had around 200 but it varies greatly based on caliber and quality.
All barrels wear out a lot faster if you add speed. Just try running one of the mini-supermagnum rounds populare in 90s through a target rifle. Its worn out within a few hundred rounds. The same was seen on the Nelson class and would have been the reality on this white elephant.
You reduce a complicated engineering solution to platitudes. No physical reason this was not engineered by the Soviets.
What a great model. I don't even ask for the price of this thing
It would be something if they were to put that ship into service
I hope this becomes yhe teir X soviet/russian Heavy Cruiser
Want this ship in game like now...
Does the ship exist in irl?
Like 70% of it
Will we get to see a Russo-Soviet Battleship line in WoWS? From a brief look at the ships of the Imperial Russian Navy and Soviet Navy and designs, surely with the potential of the archives available to you and not to the average enthusiast (The St Petersburg Central Naval Museum as one example), there is enough to make several Tier II (Pre-Dreadnought) Mikasa counterparts, and for the dreadnoughts you have the Gangut-class, the Empress Mariya, Emperor Nikolai (potentially tiers III-V), and then you have the Battlecruiser version of the Project 82 here, the Project 23 Soviet Union design, Kronschtadt class Project 69 (potentially Tier VIII-X). Obviously there's a gap, but are there any hidden designs in the archives?
Maybe have a split BB line; the end of the Tsarist era BBs lead back to the cruisers, then branch out again? Maybe include the BBs bought from the UK and taken from Italy for the VI-VII. From a historical, nerdy point of view, I'd love to see these brought to life in game; maybe focus on the BBs of the better known navies first (France, UK, Italy) but eventually give Russo-Soviet BBs some love.
Well they come from Belarus...so...can you blame them for favoring their own country (sort of...i mean no clue how these 2 look at each other today)
Besides many games leave Italy out of their Games. Could be that Italy and France did not much but goof around the entire War for diffrent reasons. I know that Italy fought 2 Wars befor WW2. I know the country was already plundered and exhausted of the War befor it even started. Leave alone that there was not a single italian division wich had the equipment it needed.
But the War performance is still pretty low. Pretty bad Tanks befor the M15. Outdated Biplanes and their Navy got heavy loses multiple times without being able to strike back. Offensive in Africa. Over 100.000 Men against around 10.000. Still they only got around 100km befor being stoped. In Russia they weren´t famous for being a reliable force.
But i have to give credit to the RSI soldiers who even stood against their Italian brothers who switches sides (ye...that is also an "Italian" thing to switch sides xD)
And Giovanni Messe...the only non German who were allowed to lead German soldiers.
Vlad Melis
erm, I am British-Canadian...not russian. and as for fantasy BBs, the game has the Montana, Friedrich der Grosse, and others already, so why not Russo-soviet designed-but-not-built?
But im sure an Aircraft Carrier from Lichtenstein would cool
Well Wargaming is a company that like to bring drawings, designs and other could-be concepts to life in their games - World of Tanks being almost the ultimate example; so many tanks that were either only prototypes or concepts.
And as for 'Paper-ships', the RN at present has 2 (Minotaur and Neptune),
The Kaiserliche/Reichs/Kriegsmarine have 2 BBs ( Friedrich der Große, Großer Kurfürst), 4 Cruisers (Hermelin, Yorck, Roon, Hindenburg - the latter 2 made up),3 DDs (V-170, Z-46, Z-52)
USN, 1 DD (Nicholas), 1 Cruiser (Phoenix), 1 BB (Montana)
RIF/VMF have 8 DDs (Podvoisky, Okhotnik, Kiev - never completed, Opasny - same, Udaloi, Khabarovsk, Osmotritelny and Grozovoi), 5 cruisers (Orlan, Budyonny, Shchors, Dmitri Donskoi, Moskva)
IJN have 4 paper BBs (Izumo, Myogi, Ishizuchi, Amagi), 3 Cruisers (Iwaki, Ibuki - never finished, Zao), 1 CV (Hakuryu)
That is a total of 35 ships that never were; I doubt a few more to fill out a potential RIF/VMF BB line, when the first part would be actual ships, and as they like to bring to life these concepts, giving them a chance denied long ago, I see no reason to hold this line back indefinitely. Of course focus on the French Marine Nationale, the Italian Navy and ofc the RN before hand, but I merely ask IF these ship will eventually be included - personally as a nerd, I'd love to see all these concept ships brought to life as I like seeing the tanks in WoT
The problem Wargaming have run into is their focus on WW2, its the end of the artillery ship, wich in a game revolving around artillery ships necessitates a lot of sci-fi inventions. Had Wargaming started their designs at the start of the century with early dreadnoughts being playable they wouldnt had to invent as much fiction. All the great navies of the era(the soviet dont rank amog them) had designs wich could rival the Iowa class, the Yamato was a different story. But with its extremely poor firecontrol and shells it should be possible to compansate wit exisiting designs.
Hope they bring this as Premium :3
clan wars popcorn now
could be an interesting ship if she shows up in the game...
here's the next premium. much stronk
Even the hull wasn't complete still took alot of punishment from test firing? Shame she wasn't finished would of been better use of the incomplete hull but thats history.
People forget that the average number of players online on the RU server is ALWAYS greater than the rest, with EU coming in second...why does everyone seem to expect some obscure premiums that don't benefit the developer financially?!
Come on people, use your big-boy brains...
I have to put water in your vine: considering the enourmous means that the USSR was investing in development and built of these ships, it is a quite typical soviet decision to abort all of it after Stalins death.
Dont get me wrong - you can see a lot of political fighting in other countries too about similar matters. But to put it so, as if this gigantic waste of money, resources and talent would be beneficial to the development of the whole country, sounds very euphemistic to me. Instead of that I see the favorite project of an authoritarian leader, that was propelled regardless, in contempt of its outdated strategic value. Because the leader could not be contradicted, the project was only abandoned when this wasnt leathal for anyone anymore: after his passing.
Nevertheless I liked the video a lot: it is highly entertaining and educating simultaneously.
Why isint this the tier 10?!???????????
Ok Nvm this would make a good tier 7 Battleship
Maybe tier 8
looks like a bigger moskwa
Moskva is a stalingrad class.
ahhh well... sorry
seems like its not so OP after all :D
actually i have compared them...
moskwa looks different
has fewer turrets and not that AA plattform in the middle
guess its a different ship oO
Because it is.
Project 66 is a stepchild of Project 82.
Oh boy another Russian fantasy ship. We seem to get a lot of those! The Soviets were just incapable of completing and commissioning anything beyond a light cruiser. The Sverdlovs were the last conventional cruisers fully built for Soviet navy.
Obvious Russian Bias
Obvious complaint about Russian bias kek
the meme is so overused its not even funny anymore

It's not meant to be funny. It's the truth
Ever think since they are based in Russia that they can get Russian Stories easier than American, Japanese, etc?
awww for once they are not talking about american ships. if youw watched the other videos in this series, they talk about all ships the same Way.
Shooting in red I see
Could it be the first tier XI ship?? :3333
Kobayashi_Etsuo-KawaiiLoliNeko No such thing as tier11 ship...
BrownieBlitz Meanwhile: Let's make it a clan wars reward! -WG
No wonder this game has so few playing it. Nothing but second rate Soviet ships that never even had a keel laid.
This should've been the tier 10 cruiser instead of moskva
Thats not a Cruiser in Relation to ww2... The stats will be totally OP
Kinda sad too see that fool Kruchev disbanding these near ready ships after so much of money that was used into building these ships. These could have been easily converted into missile cruisers later on.
lol this could be a freakin tier 10 BB
not with 11 inch guns an less armour than a tier 4 BB
cold war ship but didn't make it on the rank.
It was a mistake to not finish this ship because of symbolic character.
Next premium. Please !
Calling this a Heavy Cruiser ist quite silly.
Oh boi, Soviets and their hopeful attitudes... It wasn't going to be a bad ship, but best guns, best turbines and best hull? Yeah, not so sure about that.
the title said battlecruiser but in video a heavy cruiser? really? i still dont know why they put her in heavy cruiser type... she is too big, too strong and too powerful to be called a cruiser
normal clasification would rate it as a battlecruiser,,, but in russia they had little bit different rating in their terminology it would be still classified as a heavy cruiser, there is a book about 40-50 naval projects and plans for the navy highly suported by stalin called Superbattleships of Stalin,,but I dont know if there is any possibility finding it outside of russian language
#wannabeScharnhorst
Ah the Great ussr the Great comrade stalin glory to my real country Slava CCCP
Ruskies are proud of laying down an already obsolete ship.
We NEED this ship in the game! Either a premium, or even better, a new Tier X battleship for the best country. Mother Russia!
Oh, and do ignore Vlad Melis. He just can't stop shitting his italian fanfictions.
Nobody need this commi yunk.
Boi r u fukin stupid? This is a grand battlecruiser of great proportions. It would be one of the few Soviet battleships in the game. Not to mention most of the best WoWS players are Russians, the company is ran by people of slavic origin, so they don't need to worship america.
Nathan Smith I agree
For starters, the ships were post-poned when WWII came to Russia, secondly, it's not a fantasy ship, it was a real design and was supposed to be built in the late 1950, not to mention it would be a hell of a lot easier for them to make the Battlecruiser instead of 3 ENTIRE LINES, which is f'kin obvious, but you couldn't process that thought.
Now, fuck off.
Hah! You wish! The Soviet Union had more than twice the power of "Italy" for it's entire life! They had enough armored units to take over italy in less than a month, enough troops to fill the country, and superior technology in all forms! The Soviet Union could just refit a battleship, and it's all good, while the italians had to build an entirely new navy, for crying out loud! Not to mention that their navy did little during the war, you lil shit.
With those 12" guns, this sounds a lot like the USS Alaska/USS Guam. Of course, we had battleships with 16" guns, that could FAR outrange the 12" guns of the 'Stalingrad.'
dat ship in wows... Wows would be take over by russian bias...
This game is still missing italian and french navy, and wg keeps wasting time on the ridiculous russian navy of that period.
You’ll probably see a tillman class before a french tree.
fffuuuuuuu. no portugese legend >:v
