  • hey folks, I just want to show you all the piece of kit that I've recently gotten. And it seems to be working very well for what is designed to do. And I figure I'd take a seccond to show you guys what they can and can't do and what I think would be valuable and who I think it would be good for hope you enjoy it..

    I have 3 of those canteens and cups in my get home bag in both of my vehicles, plus one on my day bag on my 4 wheeler, there awesome canteens.

      Yeah the cup really got me good because you can biol so fast but not heat up the handles

      Definitely good for a walk.im the ark or running errands. Something to sustain you if you aren't able to reach yor full kitir don't need that much water foe what your doing

    Seeing your Knoor meal, puts me in mind of an old favorite meal. I used an aluminum kettle (a carrying case for a camp stove). I added rice and water, then a package of Knoor Spring Garden Vegetable Soup. I popped on the kettle lid, and cooked the rice mix, which became rice pilaf. JARVIS good eatin!

      Sounds good! I haven't tried it out but I reckon if you cut up some beef jerky/biltong into bits and put it in at the beginning, it would rehydrate, although I imagine it would be a bit chewy

      @simonh6371 if you get the stringy beef Jerky it will reconstitute but the Studd with the texture if a jack links beef stick won't reconstitute very well. Jt will just get warm lol

    I got 2 when they fist dropped. Worked so well I now have 13.
    Used to carry military pilot's flasks, for drink wo sloshy noises...
    Noise... Tried slipping one of my gals super small super stretchy socks over one...nice and quiet, fits perfectly, tried several types at a store to get the right fit. Keeps it quiet in the cup and deadens the whole system, also now have small wash cloth.

      Hell.yeah brother I've been using my orange bandana to quite it. But I gotta they the socks your make a better Insulator

      Indeed, bandanas are a must have for me, however with this system the socks fit nice and tight so they stay on even when taking in/out of pockets. I ended up going w medium thickness for better sound deadening. @@offthecouch1999

      Well.ive got great news. I have purchased and tested a lapels mic and it's working great. In two video's feom.now be listening for much better audio quality

    I've had the M34 for a long time. To me, It's the perfect EDC size. (I did buy the overpriced leather carrier strap, simply because i liked it.) The canteen and cup are the right size and shape to carry with you in any bag all of the time. Because of that, I now always have a cook canteen kit with me.

      I have used a great deal.of other knives and this one is irreplaceable to me. It's hands down everything I love in an outdoor knife. If you can't get the bk62 I'd get a model as close as possible and let me tell you .... I've seen some custom kepharts that are in the same price range as mine that I may bite the bullet and buy to see if they compare. Happy you like the knife and if you don't have one of your own you should Definitely get one they are worth all the Ramen noodl weeks I had to afford mine lol

    Not criticizing here, just trying to help- you might want to take a look on what vestibules are and the usage of the word in everyday conversation.

      I've got a kleen kanteen and nesting cup 40 oz that I love to death and heard the Pathfinder was the same thing with a simpler lid

      It'd good for carry to work or in a pocket the cup is hard to clean and it's an emergency cup in my opinion but it is a great peace of gear for emergency. Boiling water is about what I do with the cup after that video

    Thanks for the shout out. I have found that if you unscrew the lid slowly that it will be a litte bit quieter. They did have a leather case for the PF M34 canteen. Awesome video my friend.

      Yeah here in the south there's an abundance of water sources. I've been loving this thing for an easy way to carry water while doing yard work or checking trail cams. It's also my daily for work because I can refill at the lounge. I bought it at first because I thought it was stupid as hell then ended up liking in and using it daily to supplement my kit. It makes a good water carrier for food on longer hikes because u can rehydrate the meals I like and not lose drinking water in the process.

      No idea. I'll look into it. That whole package was silent after I tipped it open and ate it. It didn't even put up a fight. Must have had a bad year lol.
      On a serious note thanks for pointing that out I'll look into it and try not to mispronounced it In future videos. Those meals pare rely well with Jerky by the way. Also thanks for the support and I hope to see you in the next one.

      No, it's a Swiss brand. There are no silent ''k''s in German. Same as with Knipex tools.

      Yes and because it's clat it holds in between your feet better too. I haven't slept with it but I have set up under my feet after the fire went out around camp

    The threads for cap are cut into canteen and cap not pressed will probably outlive most owners

    Wish they would have a lid lanyard to prevent the loss of screwtop lid. You could easily lose it.

      Yeah I dropped it in a deer stand last week had some liston tea in there and it runs right through me. I had to drinking all right there and ender up letting it all out about 45 months later lol

      Is there anything, easily available, you can use with this flask ?

      @clivedunning4317 I found the cap bit I'm going to put a chain in the flask this weekend to avoid further incidents. I'm also going to Lowes to see if anything will thread on the flask and possibly diy my own more quite lid

    Good way to implode your canteen putting hot into cold, and or vacuum bad water into boilt if not sealed.
    Have you tried using sticks to remove cup from fire, maybe thru the open batwing handles?
    I could use one in my blackbird™ haversack.

    Ok , I'll just go ahead and say what I carry it for ,
    I fill it with BOURBON !
    I use it as it is supposed to be used for ! The cup is great to pour a shot in and then add a litt coffee, or even a coke with ice and then top it off with bourbon. 18 oz it just enough for me to get toasted and have a have great night sleep. Putting it in the fire is just abuse.

It's doing great for my work water bottle and where I live being able to boil water if there an issue or if I make a last minute trip to a tree line after work is nice. I will say it doesn't have a good water count but I have been using it for a condensed tea that I spit off into about 4-5 cups of tea in the field

      @LeopoldElwes yeah the sex appeal on the older one is better but un teams of function I can let mone sit Upside down in my pack while hiking and it won't mater.. and it won't melt in a fire if I'm annealing it to kill bacteria on a longer treck

    I would like to have it. I have a Swiss original, but I would like this in stainless steel. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to find or extremely expensive in Europe.

      Awe, that sucks they were 34 for me. And they are in abundance here in the states. These little guys work great if you are close to good water and aren't too far out

    Sorry to be pedantic / anal but it's Swiss, not Swedish. Not sure about the M34 but it's successor, the M81 canteen is made by SIGG, of SIGG Sauer fame. I have an original M81, it is a bit larger, but not too much, and the aluminium cup is wider but not as deep. It's not my go-to when in the woods as I prefer stainless steel, but for a kit and/or emergency use it's fine.

      Thanks for pointing that out. I don't want to be incorrect in my endeavors. And yeah I prefer my Klean kanteen myself but I've been really enjoying the m34 and it's here ti stay as a supplement to my cooking

      @@offthecouch1999 It's great as a back-up or accompaniment to other gear. Or as part of EDC for contingencies. That's what I carry my M81 for.

      It's good for EDC or in a small kit, as a contingency, or even for pocket carry. Sure it doesn't hold much water but it gives you the capability of purifying water by boiling.

    All Pathfinder does is copy military canteens and equipment.

      Correct and they make them out of better material. This also means my 50 year old canteen that's beat to hell is now made of stainless steel instead of aluminum and is also only 1 year old. Sounds like a win to me
