Only difference is these wars arise because no side want to back down until they get what they want. They go all in and that even means nuclear and even chemical warfare. Nothing will be spared. Here Ukrain doesn't have nukes or chemical weopanry hence Russia is playing conventional war else it would be different stort. Nato or US are not and should not go against Russia for the same reason, can't resist and will eventually lead to nukes. Cold war or economical war is different.

But the analysis is pretty silly. She brushed against and then glossed over the key ingredient of past world wars that's missing in this one: that "domino effect" didn't grow organically as an outcome of local conflicts, it was a product of systems of opposing alliances that had been developing for years, and those "small" conflicts roiled that underlying tensions that had been building up for a long time. Russia isn't part of an sort of multinational alliance that's anywhere near large enough to sustain one side in a world war, nor does it have any potential whatsoever of forming one. Of those 5 lousy countries that voted with Russia, not a single one is a powerful military ally, and only Belarus would actually stand with Russia in a multinational war.
The so-called "world war" would be Russia against everybody else that cared to be involved, and that "everybody else" would pretty much just be NATO, which collectively has such incomparable military superiority to Russia and its tiny little puppet next door that the war would make WWI and the Crimean and Russo-Japanese wars look like proud moment's in Russia's military history. Putain knows that very well, which is why he's blustering about nuclear weapons, hoping to keep NATO at bay with the fear that he's desperate enough to demolish human civilization if he's faced with utter humiliation.
On the flip side, NATO has no desire and no need to go to war with Russia. Putain has already painted himself into a corner and will be looking for a face-saving way to get out. They just need to keep doing what they're already doing, supplying Ukraine and suffocating Russia with sanctions, kicking it up a few notches if Putain insists on dragging out this fiasco longer.
There will be no World War III, the conditions for a world war just aren't there.

i am a staunch "American nationalist" and rarely listen to "foreign" news broadcasts. HOWEVER, i just "stumbled" upon the WION podcasts with this Palki Sharma news person and i am just amazed at how clear, concise and unbiased her reports are. i have watched multiple videos from this woman and they have all been very good. She appears to have captured the "old fashioned" idea of just reporting "facts" with a minimal amount of "opinion comments." on facts that do require some kind of opinion comment, she presents those in the form of "questions" or "alternatives." i will keep following this woman.

I'm an American who graduated from high school at the height of the cold war with a fear of nuclear annihilation, which the "super powers" had the potential to bring upon humanity. I don't support what Russia is doing in Ukraine, and I didn't support what the US has done in Iraq or Afghanistan. I think people do need to remember what losses Russia suffered during WWII. If 50 million souls were lost in WWII, nearly half of them were [Soviet] souls - at least 23 million. I don't hear Russia getting the credit they deserved for that effort. I don't hear people understanding Russia's deep need for security. The US would not permit Russia to put missiles in Mexico or Canada - remember the Cuban Missile Crisis? Ukraine and former Soviet countries adjacent to Russia are Russia's "Cuba". The west should not push their military to countries neighboring Russia anymore than Russia should do with the US. It may be that the west has pushed this existential crisis onto Russia. The west should have the wisdom , compassion and empathy to realize that all people need to feel secure and should remember Russia's contribution to WWII. The wars on Iraq and Afghanistan were no better than what Russia is doing to Ukraine., and media is not allowed to show the true horror. Humanity needs to find a wiser way to deal with fear and its problems, than resorting to military conflict. Humanity at its worst needs to be replaced by humanity at its best. Ingenious ways of killing and destroying need to be replaced by ingenious ways of thriving if we want humanity to exist two hundred years from now. My heart goes out to Ukraine. My heart goes out to humanity, the humanity of the future that may never have a chance to live and love and know life.
Most americans secretly agree with us but they’re too scared of being called traitors and are brainwashed by politicians who make everything about party and ideology. I’ve always had a deep respect for Russia for the reasons you’ve listed and can’t believe we’re still not allowed to be at peace with them.

The first day russia invaded ukraine, people who understand starts preparing their mind for world war. china russia and usa goes to war. Every other nation will take this chance to wage a war somewhere
