I've tried to find a thin field cap with the flaps for ages and the only version I've found was the formal one from the Gebirgsjäger and a shitty reproduction from MilTec, which was quite disappointing

As an option, have you checked out First-Spear? They have a very useful hat based on the feldmunzte that they call the Forager and is made with many modern features!

Thanks for mentioning that as I actually didn't know First Spear made any hats. I gave it a quick look and it looks really well designed, I'll research it more and I might pick one up myself.

That's so me when I'm a German factory worker and get absolutely eviscerated by an allied bombing run in my feldmütze hat.

lol. The hat's cool though so it balances out the whole getting bombed part.

I have the same hat and another in Flecktarn. I really want to wear it, but I look very goofy in it.

The german field caps are nice. Getting the sizing down however is a little tricky. Excellent video.
