    NIR COMPLIANCE QUICK REFERENCE:
    Wool = Good
    Cotton = Good
    Poly + Cotton No Brighteners = Good
    Nylon + Cotton No Brighteners = Good
    Polyester = Bad
    Nylon = Bad

    Very cool

    This was a great video theme.
    It would be really cool to see this expanded upon. For example if you were to have the camera and emitter recording you hiding in the foliage and whether or not we could spot you based upon the IR remission.

      Thank you, and that's a good idea! I've been wanting to do a video like that but there's currently quite a few technical limitations due to my nightvision recording setup being pretty cobbled together and not very portable.
      I'm looking into some recording gear soon that, if it works, should enable me to record a NIR camo test, and the quality should be better too.

    Hi, can you do a video on HK's tanodized parts and low IR visibility. Because HK claims that's what the tanodized rifles advantage is over the black one. As you have tan HK rifles/parts and NV IR gear that will be an interesting video to see what these parts look like in IR/NV.

      Certainly! Thanks for suggesting that as that's a good idea for a video. I will definitely record that in the near future.
      I did test the NIR remission on my rifles very informally (no video or anything) a few months ago and I didn't see much issue with HK's anodization, both black and Sand/RAL-8000 were pretty similar. Sand should perform a bit better on the visible spectrum though.
      Interestingly HK's newest rifles are all coming from the factory with NIR-compliant Cerakote which I assume probably works better in certain conditions.

      @@Feldmutze You have any source for the HK's newest rifles coming with Cerakote? I guess you mean the handguard only right? I know that HK intends to switch to Cerakote in the future and the A8 variant is fully cerakoted for sure, but the civilian ones made in Germany are fully anodized whether black or tan. I myself prefer the andozied parts, that's why I made sure that I have both tan and black anodized HK rifles in my arsenal before HK switches to cerakote. HK's upcoming "sniper gray" looks promising.
      I did not imply/expect the HK rifles having any NV/IR visibility issues. I just want to see what they look like in NV, as HK claims that A) the tan rifles are better for NV/IR invisibility and B) that they deliberately mix and match the tan parts to reduce the rifles IR signature. And that their thousand shades of tan is no accident but an attempt to reduce the rifles IR signature. I want to see that claim verified.

      I should clarify and say that HK's newest military rifles i.e. the G95K, 433, G95A1, etc. are all cerakoted from factory. I have no idea if HK's civilian rifles are going to keep doing anodization or cerakote though all their photos on the new M-Lok handguard and the newest MR308 variants are all Cerakoted so I assume they will follow suit.

      I just finished the video on NIR visibility using HK's tanodized parts as a reference. czcams.com/video/tsfpBU_hFu4/video.htmlsi=7xY4m3JB_ZIexq7-
      I expanded the video topic to also show Cerakote as a point of comparison.

    Dammit you changed your channel name, what was your original channel name again?

      Original channel name was Jang-gun. I started moving everything over to this new channel name when I created the Rumble account, forgot about it for a few months, and finally changed this one a couple months ago.
