    McLaren F1 GTR. For the fact that it wasn't intended to be a racecar by Gordon Murray's own words yet went on to win outright against all the prototypes in 1995. Likely the last street car which will ever do so.

  • @Bluefire397
    @Bluefire397 Před rokem +54

    The fact that the F1 beat out every single other prototype in a form not very disimilar to what you'd get on the road is a real achievement .

      Sorry to burst your bubble but the "real" prototypes aka Group C were effectively banned the year before with the less powerful LMP94/WSC being the only protos which might have had a chance. The C34 did just one lap less in the end after losing massively in the early hours due to rain and losing six laps due to an accident. That was one of the many LM races which was won by the car with simply less trouble than the others, not because the car was better. Just look at the total number of laps, the F1 just managed to do 298 laps whereas the LMP1 Porsche did 354 laps in the following year - 16 more than the best F1 that year - and the "LMGT1" Dauer 962 - which was basically a C1 - did 344 laps the year before.
