    After watching quite a few of your reactions now, I've decided my favourite parts are the ones that make Jodi shake her head and say 'no' out loud, as if she's refusing to allow the words into her head. That seems to happen at moments when a joke/comment crosses some invisible line which starts to make her squirm a bit - and it's hysterical to watch. There was only one small example in this reaction, (pretending to be a princess part), but it was still enough to make me chuckle. Loving it. Keep it up guys. 👍

    I'm 62, born in 1960, Liverpool, I instantly said Michael Collins, as a kid sat on a gym floor watching on the black n white school tv, the whole wonderous moon landing is etched in my heart and in my brain, but i had doubts when Al asked the question, just cos am old and forget lots of stuff, But Major General Michael Collins is remembered and revered, at least by me, and I'm sure lot's of other kids around the world who lived through this all those years ago, our humour is largely based on and at it's acerbic best through self deprecation sarcasm and humiliation, Al Murray is a very educated astute historian, who encapsulates all of these traits in his work.

    Yes Michael Collins knew he wasn't going to land on the moon. Room and weight restrictions for the lander. The 'Eagle' was almost out of fuel when it finally touched down. I think Collins said in an interview, if for some reason Armstrong and Aldrin got stuck on the moon and couldn't get back to the command module, he was serious considering not returning to Earth alone.

  • @grahamtravers4522
    @grahamtravers4522 Před rokem

    Somewhere (on TV I think) I've seen an interview where it was confirmed that Armstrong DID say "One small step for A man ...", but the "a" was lost in transmission. IIRC, there was a "beep" which was transmitted regularly for timing, and it happened to coincide with his sentence, blocking out the "a".

    I do agree that the moon landings were an amazing achievement. What I have a bit of an issue with is Americans who try to claim it was an entirely American achievement without realising than the space program was built on previous recent advances and developments in science, especially rocket technology, achieved in various parts of the world. It doesn’t often get spoken about how the US recruited a number of prominent scientists out of the Nazi military programs at the end of the Second World War because German rocket science and technology was considerably ahead the rest of the world at that time. The space program was pretty much the ultimate example of the concept of “standing on the shoulders of giants” which speaks to science building upon the advancements of those who came before.

Due to the rushed development scheduled the 4 test launches - all unmanned, ended in failure. The programme was eventually cancelled in 1974.

Me and my dad stayed up until 5am to watch the moon landing, at the time we had a shitty black and white TV. The pictures were so blurred and grainy that it could have been filmed in someones back yard. That's where all the conspirisy theories come from. Did they go to the moon or was it fake. All I know about this is when Russia sent sputnik as a sattelite into space that orbited the earth, it sent terror and shockwaves to the USA. If they could do this with a sattelite then they could launch intercontinental nuclear missiles anywhere on earth. That was a wake up call, let the space race begin.
