In My Time of Dying live is incredible! It's from Earl's Court 1975.
Great reaction to a great performance of one of their best tunes!

I was there!!
I figured you would love this! Thanks for the shout out!!
When this song was first recorded, Robert Plant was recovering from a car crash and recorded it while in a wheelchair. He badly damaged his ankle and it wasn't clear if he would walk again. I think that inspired the title of the song as Achilles' weak spot was his heel. It seems to me that the song draws parallels between the band's touring experiences and some classical Greek mythology references. The whole rhythm of the song sounds like an ancient army galloping into war.
At first it was going to be called the wheelchair song, thankfully they changed it.
Wow...God level
About eight guitar tracks on the studio version .. Jimmy was told it was next to impossible to perform this live without another guitarist .. Jimmy's reaction was "Hold my beer" ..
Shows why he’s the greatest, even really addicted to heroine at the time, far greater then other guitarists. This was also after the band hadn’t preformed for about 18 months, following the death of Plant’s son. Plant was really nervous about preforming again, but they were on fire at this concert, & especially this song.
The one thing that this band had over every other band -- bar none -- is stage presence, period.
Nah, they didn't have that " over every other band ".
QUEEN, for one of a few, were at the same level of stage presence...if not MORE than LZ.
@@philosopher0076 --I don't think so lol. Freddie Mercury perhaps is equal to Robert Plant but Brian May is nowhere near Jimmy Page. Not even close..
@@philosopher0076 LZ was the benchmark upon which ALL bands are judged.
@philosopher0076 Brian May himself @ Buckigham Palace told Queen Elizabeth II that LZ was the benchmark when he, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck were there being honored.
This song is proto power metal at the same time being progressive rock!
