Same for the Carolinas (with the exception of the metropolitan areas with a decent tech presence). These states that thrive on tourism dollars expects people to work for sheckles to drive the hospitality industry. Then the tourists fall in love, move to the area, and drive up the cost of living. Now the essential workers are priced out because rent is sky high and salaries are insufficient. It’s sad.

She feels the video made her look bad. He tried explaining to her that it was her actions that made her look bad. It's messed up. They had been friends since 3rd grade. He said he eventually called the waitress over to have his tab, as well as the other gentleman's tab separated.

I hate going to birthday dinner parties because of this. Just have a dinner party at your house that's catered. Me personally, if I invite you out, I plan to pay or the person that threw the party for me will pay. Plus, I don't throw dinner parties at expensive restaurants. When I was thinking about moving to Toronto. my brother who's a math geek was doing the calculations of what my salary would when you have to add in living expensses. A lot of people end up moving in with people that they don't know to make it in that city.

When it comes to splitting the bill, it’s always the person that orders the most expensive meal/drinks that suggests it and then calls other people broke if they don’t want to do it. How hard is it to pay for what you ordered and split the tax/tip evenly amongst the entire party? If it’s someone’s birthday you just divide it evenly and add it to each persons bill. I have a friend that wants to calculate 20% tip down to the penny based on what your total was and that’s a bit much for me. I’m like Claudia, I don’t always order an entree because it’s too much food, plus I’m a vegetarian. My bill is typically substantially less than someone who orders the steak. If there’s an issue I just calculate what I ordered, add tax and tip and leave.

If I'm abled to pay my increase rent which went from 450 to 1000 in the span of 4 years with no real improvements then I can make a house payment.
I'm not paying for food and drinks I didn't order if out with a big group of friends. Easy to get taken advantage of. Only exception is going out with a friend who pays one time, then I pay the next. Friendship group outings ~ people pay for what they ordered 💯

Went to birthday dinner for my mother with my father and siblings (brother and his girlfriend and sister, her husband and 3 kids). It was so embarrassing how my brother in law acted when the check came, that I'll never go out and eat with them again. He took the check and started calling out the meals and the prices. He was even going to collect money from my parents. I ended up paying the bill, but would never go out to eat with him again.

Listen, I threw my daughter a Sweet Sixteen Dinner Party w/a violinist, photographers, etc. I invited 20 close family and friends and I paid for everyone's meals; no alcoholic beverages were paid by me. Nonetheless, I believe if you invite ppl to your bday dinner then the bday person should pay or the host like myself, however, I do like the other option as well for those who prefer their dinner party to pay for their bday dinner.
