Rafale Done, Desi Tejas Fighter Jet Is Next | Indian Air Force | Indian Defence News | News Decode

Indian Air Force on Thursday received the delivery of the 36th Rafale fighter jets from France, completing the deal signed in 2016.
IAF said in a statement "The pack is complete. The last of the 36 IAF Rafales landed in India after a quick en route sip from a UAE Air Force tanker,".
India had signed a Rs 58,000-crore deal with France's Dassault Aviation for 36 of these planes and 35 of them have already arrived and are stationed at Ambala, Haryana and Hashimara in West Bengal.
A squadron of Rafale will monitor the western border and northern border with Pakistan, while another squadron will monitor the eastern border area of India. Due to the completion of the Rafele deal, the strength of the Indian Air Force has increased, especially when tension and a clash erupted at the International borders with China.
That being said Indian Air Force is look for another 114 aircraft under Multi-Role Fighter Aircraft (MRFA), according to Indian Airforce Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari procurement of the MRFAs will augment the IAF's fighter strength and enable it to induct the advanced technologies that the force "urgently desires" to execute its operational plans more effectively.
However the next fighter jet that Indian Air Force will get is not Rafale but LCA Tejas MK1A, 2hose contract was signed in 2021 during Aero India.
The deal to procure 83 Tejas light combat aircraft from state-run aerospace behemoth Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL).
LCA Tejas MK1A deal is worth about Rs 48,000 crore. And the delivery of Tejas Fighter jet will begin from 2024 with rate of production of arrounf 16 aircraft per year.
