    I didnt put timestamps on this one because I think the whole thing is worth a watch! It's really the whole experience. I know its multiple days into a single video but I could only go 4 days without my Garmin. Hope you enjoy and Happy New Years Everyone!

    I’ve been considering this ring for a long time but haven’t pulled the trigger. Your use didn’t make me want to run out and get one either. I’ll look forward to your updates.

      I agree. I could see subscription being a good model if you didn't have to purchase the product and could return and cancel later on. I prefer the Purchase model. One time and done.

    If you start the activity into the Strava app itself, it will then export it into the Oura app. You can either leave oura on or use an external HR strap!

    I think comparison to Garmin would be really good. I also agree that it seems to work well as an accessory, but couldn’t be a primary fitness tracker.

    On the fence between a Garmin and a smart ring - use case is to track outdoor runs, VO2 max, HRVs, get insights about recovery, training readiness etc. Which one do you suggest?

    • @Aesthetic_Al
      @Aesthetic_Al  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Easily a Garmin if you want to track outdoor runs. I am using both now for a few months. I love my recovery metrics and app from Oura. But it's not very practical if you are wanting that level of fitness tracking. Outdoor runs (pavement or trail)

    I just got the Oura ring, but I am wearing my Garmin watch in the day and the Oura ring only while I go to bed. I think this is a great strategy as it seemed like the ring is great for sleep & health and the Garmin is great for workouts & running.

      That's what I thought. It's kinda hard to sleep with the Epix. Also trying out the Vivoactive 5 while sleeping, so far I may like it more than the Oura Ring. Barely notice the Vivoactive 5. It weighs nothing and I like how it integrates with my Epix.@@Aesthetic_Al

      yeah, I am ready to jump to what you do. I went from AW to Garmin because want to track more of my sleep and recovery without having to worry about when to charge. But I really miss the “smart” aspect of the AW. I think ouraring and AW combination sounds attractive.

      @@Aesthetic_Al i wear a garmin vivosmart 4 or 5 with sleep feedback but it only does pulse ox for a few hours not whole night. I swim w an older polar heart. Have an old model garmin forerunner that i dont use anymore, got when i did trathlons many yrs ago. Vivosmart tracks gps w phone in my fanny pack. I care more about overall health, fitness, vo2 max, and esp sleep quality. Im struggling w sleep quality. Not race training. I would buy the aura if it could give quality sleep metrics. Thanks.

      Well I started using my Garmin again 4 days after this video. I am using both at the moment now. I really miss all the activity tracking features from Garmin. The metrics are SO SIMILAR. Except nap detection. My Garmin experience with naps is not a good one. But My Sleep metrics, HRV, Readiness Score are all similar @@KidtipsyEthn

    • @KidtipsyEthn
      @KidtipsyEthn Před 4 měsíci

      So I ended up getting an oura ring also. Definitely find the sleep tracking awake times more accurate. What has been working week is syncing Garmin to Strava for workouts then Strava syncs to Oura. It really does not bother me having a watch on 24/7 and the ring 24/7. If the oura ring does give the same recovery metrics over the next few weeks then what might change is I can use different activity trackers from other vendors that also sync to Strava. .....the big game changer for me would be Garmin come out with a ring similar to this. Problem solved but not like there is a problem lol other than my addiction to Fitness tech.

    • @KidtipsyEthn
      @KidtipsyEthn Před 4 měsíci

      So day 2 the data from the Garmin and Oura is pretty much the same for recovery. Almost like they use the algorithms.

  • @histoires-terrifiantes-fr

    I was thinking to buy an Oura ring but just learnt there is a subscription cost. That's a no go for me. All the smartwatch companies I know are able to get profit without any subscription. So Oura should be able to do this too. These subscription everywhere even where there is no need are really annoying.

    Also thanks for your review onntbe Shokz Open fit ear buds. I love love love them 💕 I wear them continually. The only downside is I forget i have them on sometimes and almost get in shower w them. Occasionally one will fall out bc i wear long hair not pulled back so i have to be careful if they are in my ear not turned on, catch my hair. Not an issue w exercise bc my hair pulled back. That obviously wasn’t in your review bc of your short hair. I use bone conduction in pool only 🏊🏻‍♀️

    I see a ring wearable as an accessory to people with a fitness tracker in situations that you don’t want to wear a fitness watch too. Like a formal event for example or any situation you want to wear a bracelet or dare I say an actual watch.
