On a elevator in Tampa, I accidentally backed right into George. He gave me a scowling dirty look.
Then he broke into the same great smile he has here. We both laughed.
"Pinella, Catfish Hunter, Sparky Lyle, that's a losing trifecta..." 😆
1977 and 1978
He was fantastic on Seinfeld
He was also great on Saturday Night Live, he made fun of himself in a few skits.
He left before it was Filmed 🎥 LARRY DAVID
@@mikewhite4560 you don't say?!
@Dane You know that wasn’t really him, right?
@@ArtificialBanana does nobody get sarcasm anymore? 😂
A gem. Occasionally I'll re-watch the time Steinbrenner and Billy Martin were on together when Billy tells the story of shooting the old mule with Mickey. Thanks.
On Billy Martin Roast, Whitney Ford told the mule story as well
The good old days in NY. I remember them well.
Steinbrenner had a LOT of flaws, but goddamn if he wasn’t entertaining and committed to winning. As a Red Sox fan, the rivalry hasn’t been nearly as fun since he passed.
Miss those days.
Late night TV at it's best.
Steinbrenner had a GREAT sense of humor.
this was FUNNY.
OMG!!! Legends!!!! That was awesome!!!
Billy kept talking even after Dave hung up the phone!
Has anyone been hired and fired for the same job more times than Billy Martin?!
Yeah, I just looked it up. Martin had 5 stints as Yankee skipper and probably more if he hadn't died in the car crash.
I don't think so
I miss George❤❤❤❤😢
"That's why they're playing baseball in places like Anaheim" said Dave.
awesome ♥️
Well that was fun! ✌️
And then, after the commercial break, Whitney Houston came out and blew the roof off the place with a devastating performance of "Saving All My Love For You". Pretty good program that night in Rockefeller Center.
Funny af.
…..bucky dent, Billy Martin, Lou pinella, Billy Martin….
rest in peace boss
such a good look at a man that had a bad reputation for being so mean.. and I could care less about baseball!
I'm surprised that someone so funny and charming seemed to know nothing about Seinfeld and didn't understand the show.
Steinbrenner really was a chameleon!! He could be the most obnoxious a$$hole bully on Earth--and yet he had a great sense of humor--could laugh at himself--and had a very warm and generous side to him. A VERY complex man!!
Did Letterman set Steinbrenner up to have Martin say that right away?
Back when Letterman did comedy.
For a son of a ship builder from Cleveland Ohio, Mr. Steinbrenner had done pretty good for himself.
Larry David did a better Steinbrenner than this guy
I smell calzone!!
@@SeanAllocca Costanza's in the building!
@@SeanAllocca I'm jealous George you got some good Calzone over there.
George reminds me of Trump
When USA was great.
NY was great!
Feel free to move out
