Just an observation, doesn't anyone ever wear a lifevest anymore?
yea, even on a lake!
No!
Now way man. It's Miami, lifevests are not cool there!
I can swim pretty well and I would definitely have a vest on. People are nuts.
❓🤔 A what? You mean like a leather biker vest? That just wouldn't do.... Sure, you may look cool like the Fonz out there on the water in a leather vest, but you really don't want leather to get soaked in salt water! 😉
That was great footage on the last boat.
Not one person wearing a life jacket
You can’t fix stupid!
Not very smart
Cell phones are the real life saver.
Maybe they know how to swim.
@@RDYC you can’t swim if you get knocked unconscious
That Freeman, I'd be in tears if she were mine.
No you would becuase you could afford to fix it lol
Holy crap what a nightmare!
This channel has the best 'bow' movements.😂
Broken back!! As entertaining as these videos are… they also teach ppl that these waves are no match for some boats. I had my back shattered by hitting the huge wake of a slow moving big cabin cruiser. Came down so hard (yes sitting on the bow!!) that my L1 vertebrae shattered! So watch and learn… prevent the price of injury!! Well done y’all!
Oh no and sounds painful and had to be scary. I pray your recovery is kind.
had to come back asap for this
The jetski following the SeaVee looked like a chihuahua on a leash. And that 50' Carver. I'm looking at that freeboard, thinking "No way she stuffs the bow!" Haulover winked at my thought and said ..
"Dude. Way "
Epic top 5 fails. Ejected over the transom and the SeaVee definitely top the list. Those seas were extreme, curling rollers out as far offshore as you can see. Crazy!
where is that vessel registered? Don't recognize the state of "DO"
Dam jet ski guy getting pounded that’s more dangerous then boat
This gives the best reasons for boat licenses
NATURAL SELECTION!! YEAAAAA
Some wicked waves, love it
I live near Sebastian Inlet in Florida and it is dangerous like this too. I have seen a boat capsize in the big waves trying to come in.
Serious respect to the one driving that seavee that's some wild chop and lop
[Boeroflats fi.shing😊😊
Regal makes strong boats, I've had 3 of them, but they are all bow heavy in my experience. I've never had an open bow Regal, only cuddy cabins, but the common theme of Regal is that they are bow heavy.
I would think in a cuddy cabin vessel, it would be heavier in the bow as compared to a similar length center console
regals not made for tuff water
@@albertoestrada6929 "’’’"’""
Regal does not make a strong boat lol in the industry we call them a re-gel as in the gel coat is so thin it needs to be redone. Entry level boat at best.
Great photography!
Stay at the bar!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
5:53 jet ski riders looked like they were having a blast lol
Awesome drone flying
The lady on number 4 was the mother in law of the pilot. "Sit here Mom!"
Wwow!Wow!!
Garden of Stone. Hi,,that was I believe BELMAR CANAL, IN NJ , IT showed up here on YT,,, CHEERS. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
The SeaVee was operated by the owner and her son. She is a fishing fanatic and they were heading to Ocean Reef. They made it without any issues.
I am from Michigan and if it’s flat I don’t wear a life jacket but if it’s as rough as it is right now I do
That Robalo was a perfect storm of wrong... Size, speed, trim, timing, luck...
Wife: Honey I'm gonna take your boat out today
Husband: Okay, take care of her
Wife:
THAT SeeVee learned that you pick your tides at Haulover.
2:33 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Leaving on that sea cruise on the inlet for the number one boat in the video it doesn't matter if you forget to shake the Pepto-Bismol before you leave by the time you get to going where you're going you don't have to worry about the Pepto-Bismol not being shook
I choose #2
Oooo que loco jaja jaja
Haulover us the place to be to watch "play stupid games, win stupid prizes" at work. I still don't get why nobody wears life jackets in such gnarly seas.
I've gone out on dive boats at the Boca and hallover inlet. Dicey times.
Best time to go out is when you see more white of the water than blue…..big air day!
That number one spot with the hired crew to deliver that boat would be an immediate "return to sender" option for me. I'd rather have a new boat with water under the hull not in it
I'd be docking my boat in another inlet lol
Wolkum Bak Guize…🙋🏽♂️
#1 omg!
I watch these videos all the time and does no one understand how tides work. man just four hours would've been a huge difference for that last boat
Canoe would be fun!
First boat. Six guys. One babe. Hmmmm …. 😉😆
She was the entertainment
#2 oh my god!
nice
Dude was riding that ski
The pink hat!! Omg, I never noticed that 🤣🤣🤣
The waves at Haulover are much smaller along thd sides. Particularly the south side with a southeast wind and out going tide. Hug the south side and turn out of the rough water when you're past the jetty. There are big rocks near the jetty wall so you have to stay out about 15 orc20 feet. The waves are a lot smaller..then when you get to the end of the jetty, run about 20 yards past the end and turn out of the channel.
I used to live not far from Haulover and took my 17'whaler out thru all sorts of waves. It's worst on an outgoing tide and a wind from the east.
Cca
Why u tryna shut down the man’s channel sharing that it’s not wise to steer towards the shit in a boat
Local Knowledge.
That last boat looked like a typical rough lobster fishing day in the Bay of Fundy off Southwest Nova Scotia…. but we’re not in pleasure boats
When Haulover is angry, is there any way to work it with something as small as that Robalo? Oooooh, #1 came as close as you probably can to greenwatering the cockpit on that much boat.
That Carver shows that even though it’s not a real hi-end boat, it’s design allows it to punch through, and the water, instead coming INTO the boat, goes harmlessly over and OFF the boat. Also, no idiots were on the bow. OMG. They did fine.
Hbhn
Looks like a blender there. Guards should screen these people before letting them go out on days like this. -Life preservers, alcohol check, etc. it’s a really life-and-death situation. Just like a car. For their own good… and the safety of any rescue workers involved too, thanks
Yeah cause we all want to live in a locked-down dictatorship... With freedom comes the odd moment of stupidity. This isn't even that dangerous -- when was the last time someone actually drowned boating in Haulover? The water is warm, there's tons of people around, and the shore is nearby.
Don't make it a bigger deal than it actually is.
How far do they have to go before it smooths out a bit??
"OOOOHHHH SSSHHHHIIIIIIITTTTT" at 2:36
Inner tube would be the best choice and the cheapest!
Can you do a comparison commentary video of right and wrong way to handle these tides if you needed to?
Yes the comparison is watching a movie not trying to kill yourself
That black string wedgie the first gal bow rider was wearing went atomic real quick ...
That sea vee was bad ass..you see all those rod holders?
Wow
#4 When you really can't wait on grandma any longer.
On the first one maybe its normal at Haulover but 6 older guys and one gal 🤔 interesting crew.
You didn't recognize Captain Stabbin?
it's a boat, not a train.
And our next contestant.LMAO
What a way to destroy a hull
People are nuts to go out in those waves
The Sea V did great per the conditions. Have no ide why dude was sitting pretty much on the transom, very risky spot.
Where's my surfboard!
Damn you didn’t get that first one on the drone?!
mantab
Daaaang. You'd think these "captains" would watch the channel to see how to do it. Prior proper planning prevents piss poor performance.
What happens if youj're very patient and do about 3 knots going into the waves, and adjust the speed to stay on the back of a wave when going with them? As I recall, that's what worked with our18 foot runabout, with waves that might have been the same proportion to its size as the waves in the video with the much larger boats.
Coming in, I've seen boats do well slowing down a little and riding the waves in, and then speeding up as they get smaller. The problems most are having here is going out against the waves coming in. They are usually going to slow, and not trimmed right and dive into the next wave taking on water. I don't understand why boats designed to go fast and cut through the waves, with 3 and 4 350 to 450 horse engines and they are going so slow! Speed is their friend!! They are going over the top of the wave and diving down instead of trying to cut through it.
I'm from New Zealand ... Right in the middle of the Pacific Ocean exposed to huge weather systems!!!! Always have the power on to keep the bow up but not enough to be jumping the waves !!!!!! We have coast guard courses specific to dangerous area's like river bars and shallow inlets
@@cueist1963 Going fast and jumping over the top? Better have a sturdy boat and passengers with sturdy knees.
@@barryclark2582 so faster doesn’t necessarily mean less comfortable? I get what you’re saying that if you cut the wave there’s less bounce, but I’ve just had so many experiences where speed equals bounce and sore spines. I guess it’s just a fine line…
@1:58 "birds eye view" is what you were looking for
No! the freeman.
The Mullet Man / Booty Wrangler knows something I don't know.
Dad "what the F happened to my fishing boat!!?"
girls " 😇
No thrill is worth one's life!
Hombre al agua.
Talk about a sea trial 5:55
White water rafting at its best!
Boats will never win without knowing one simple rule of buoyancy. Help the boat, while in the wavy area, by sitting in the stern.
1st - bunch of old dudes and one young chick???? The u turn might have saved her from a life time of PTSD
😮
Back when I was a young kid up north a buddy of mines dad had a house somewhere along the shore in New Jersey. He had to wave runners that he allowed us to take out. I can’t remember where in jersey it was but basically backyard was on canal and you had to ride quite a bit to get out to an inlet to the ocean. I remember being stoned as hell and getting to the inlet and just out of nowhere being engulfed by these monster waves. Couldn’t see until you were at the peak of a wave. Was so awesome. One of those enlightening moments lol. We were hitting these waves and getting like 4-5 seconds of airtime 😂 was such a blast.
It only SEEMED like 4 or 5 seconds of air time. You'd have to be 30 feet in the air to do that. It's simple physics.
@@lr21643 from the tip of the wave and landing in the bottom of the swell was probably around 10-15 feet. The waves were huge. I forgot my tape measure that day. You’re right prob just felt like 4-5 seconds but was more like 2-3. Either way it was insanely fun
2 seconds would be 16 feet, or maybe slightly less if the waves were really high. Still a long way to fall. Also, I think waves always look bigger from a small boat than they do from the shore.
@@lr21643 what’s the equation your using to determine the size of the wave?
@@lr21643 don’t you need to know velocity to calculate anything lol
Unbelievable..
Truly!!!! As an observer of these videos, its clear that there are few days that qualify as *safe* to go out! I wouldn't keep a boat here for anything. Ridiculous what these folks try. And those people who got bounced around? I could feel those bounces! like your head being separated from your neck!! no thanks! that ain't boating - that's suicide!!!
Broke my back sitting on the bow of an 18 footer.
Wow I would not want any of those boats after that pounding!
Ya you would! All of them.
@@mikestacy7276 well lol yah, and hope stringers n all are good 🤙
There was probably another incident worse than the Freeman cat, that was just mechanical failure. Am I mistaken or is # 5 the CV, have a female captain ? I love seeing the female captains handling the helm just as good as the men. Considering how rough the inlet was the exit could have been a lot worse.
SeaVee*
The girl in the first video likely avoided a much worse pounding.
not selling life jackets in Florida,i see..
Seem like a few of the drivers should not be allowed to be in control
Have these people ever wondered why sailors don’t sit on the bow? And sailboats under sail are more forgiving. Crazy
#2 easily should be in the #1 spot.
Obviously regulations at this location are not what they should be. I’m sure unaware passengers have been badly injured, some permanently.
And, is some case, the public pays in taxes for treatment of those injuries and lifetime disabilities.
BUNS!
I live in Utah and I KNOW you DONT put people in the bow in haulover!! How do these fosters not know!?
Seat belts?😊
I would have opted for the Haulover u-turn on all those runs
not sure why anyone goes in or out of there at this point
People who don’t know the ocean 🌊 play with it. People who know it respect it.
TOOOOOONTOS
This is better with the sound turned off
How many times have jet skiers saved someone's bacon at these inlets? If it weren't for them, all these idiots that care more about their phones than their lives would win the Darwin award.
Well there's always been a ten-to-one clown ratio when it comes to boating 😂
How embarrassing to have one of your crew fall over. That's boat the boat, at the end of the day and they are all fighting each other.
Slack tide?
Why is stuffing the bow a big deal.. I'm not a boater but I don't see what the big deal is if you can make it out
