The last boat won against Boca
Of course it did. But when you get to ignore your own rules, you make a short video because you're too lazy to put out a longer one.
It wasn't even the same day. The conditions were totally different.
@@mikesheahan6906 I noticed that too
That Yellowfin absolutely won wifey was holding on like a champ and got back to her seat obviously wasn’t her first bar crossing , it’s amazing how a few extra feet LOA and a few more degrees of deadrise makes such a huge difference in capabilities
Of course it did. BG is just too lazy to make a full video. Probably has to go collect some 'favors' from his fake legend girls....

If you are heading out and waves are breaking higher than your bow, you might just want to turn around. Always good to see another day! Mother nature is unforgiving!
The freeboard of that Scarab is barely over 3 feet. In some inlets if you wait for less than this you're going to be waiting for a long time.
I give this one a thumbs for the information being shared about boat safety and teaching someone to drive your boat.
You say boca whooped them I say the (1st boat) husband & wife team CRUSHED IT! Never panicked, kept their composer. Definitely not their first tussle with boca.
I like the way the crew leaves the cap to get on by himself. Why does no-one wear lifejackets?
Crazy waves! Great point to teach everyone how to operate the vessel! Thank you!!
When the captain got back on board he should have pulled that stern line in or get ready deal with tangle motors in the breaking waves.
He also left the swim ladder down…
@@flips6908 Swim ladders aren't a big deal; they're not loose, so they can't get into props. And they're designed to fold up on their own if left down.
Like other people here, first thing I noticed was the stern line the captain left in the water to get wrapped around the prop and the ladder the climbed up was left down. Also interesting no-one though to put on a lifevest after enduring a life-threatening demonstration of why they're necessary. And finally, no flotation device to throw out to the captain while they're desperately treading water in those rough waters? It's not like ol' Captain was the picture of health or fitness, as proven by how long it took him to get back in the boat - with no assistance from the ladies who seemed completely unconcerned once he got hold of the rope.
Took the words right out out my mouth, brother.
Spot on. Maybe they wanted him to drown.
@@andyp91 lmfaoo IM DEAD
Great advice on always having 2 or more people on the boat that can be at the helm. So important.
PFD for captain that went over and the crew. Up here in the PNW all bar crossings require everyone to wear a PFD while transiting the bar.
Would have been VERY interesting to see Big Boy go over the side.
He really luck out not being knocked out.
No way those other two on board would have been able to pull him from the water.
It would have been a drag.
Not the day to head out for that crew.
Those first guys had it like a boss and they took no pounding at all. It was not a pleasure boating day and they turned around, but again, they took no shots to speak of.
I really, REALLY like how you are giving: legit, accurate, helpful and possibly LIFE SAVING tips in this video. This is great info man. I would have never thought about the kill switch being attached to the Captain if he gets thrown over and not having another on board to rescue them. All of it is GOLDEN info. man. Seriously.
Kill switches have been around for over 30 years.
The best life saving tip would have been WEAR A LIFE JACKET! But nope. No mention of that for some reason????
Wow, that Yellowfin is an absolute UNIT! Beautiful boat
Such a great point about teaching a regular on your boat how to operate it. I taught my 16 year old son and wife because we do a lot of fishing, and You just never know.
When the Scarab dunked it engines I thought sure it would lose power & show us what a Haulover rollover looks like.
That yellowfin is a beast
Always a good idea to leave mooring lines hanging in the water so they can wrap around the prop more easily..
or have them short enough so they can't?????
I can't imagine wanting to be on a boat bad enough to torture yourself and the vessel like that. Even the big boats are ridin rough. Crazy people.
You missed a gold mine with that captain going overboard.
The only bad inlet experience I've had was coming out of Hillsboro Inlet in a Chaparral 240 (24' express cruiser).
As soon as we left the inlet the waves were 4 feet which isn't unsafe for that boat but definitely not fun. The thing that was unsettling to me and at the edge of my skill level was that they were so closely spaced, way less than the length of the boat. It was like riding a bucking bronco. I wanted to return to the inlet but was nervous about getting hit broadside and broaching. I remembered that waves come in sets so I waited for a relative lull and did a quick 180. Then I rode back in throttling to stay on the back of the wave and we were okay. A take home lesson among several that day was to always have our PFDs on when we run an inlet as things can change very quickly.
1st and foremost... I love your channel! I thank you for capturing, editing and uploading all the entertaining content that you do!
That said...I wonder why you so often call "FAIL" when people are just powering through. If a craft catches air, it's not a fail. If the passengers are stimulated and have to hold on, it's not a fail. If a craft creates a splash by headbutting a wave, then bullies through...it's NOT a fail. IT"S A WIN! If they don't have to turn around, if they don't STUFF, if they don't lose passengers....THE BOAT and CAP WIN! Give it to them!
This needs to be a sport. Travel a distance the fastest threw the hualover
Yep, the "Boca Beating", for sure!
That first guy just went out to prove he could make it.
Could'a been a bet.
Buddy. "Bet you can't make it out."
Captn. "Bet I can make you change your shorts."
Great idea on the spare lanyard!
Note about the kill switch. If he falls off the boat and pulls the kill switch out, the boat may not restart when the other people try to take control of the boat (because they don’t understand how a kill switch works) and may leave the boat disabled.
100% correct. Only time you wear a kill switch is when you're alone.
I don't think BG is that competent of a boater to know this though.
The narrator did say that a spare should be kept on the boat for that reason
Love your commentary lol
Saw some small boats in other videos of Haulover with more people than they are designed for trying to get past those waves. Some of them looked like they had kids on board and not one them wearing a life vest. The vests are on the boat but what good are they when somebody gets tossed into those waves without wearing one.
That vertical captain needs to be evaluated. Destroying yourself and passenger is one thing, endangering the lives of rescuers is another.
To this day I can't forget the sight of watching my friend just about lose his foot falling over the stern right into a moving prop on his boat...looked like a well-done chiliburger hanging off his ankle. People think I'm too strict when they come on my boat but the captain should set an example for safe boating and never compromise
Don, absolutely. The captain is responsible for his passengers' safety. I don't think many captains or passengers take it all seriously enough. Have fun, but do it safely.
At least the Scarab was vertical long enough to not need a bilge pump!
Also: wear that vest! People are like "I can swim!" Well, not if you are unconscious.
1:09 the water is just pouring off the bimini top... from the UNDERside! That's something I've never seen.
the last captain was looking back as soon as you said hes not looking back lol
Captain in the water left his line hanging off the boat! Bad mistake.
The last boat definitely won. I’d say yes the first two rounds were Boca but come on give the boats at least one win since the brought out the big guns.
Yeah, but BG has to go get blown by his fake legends so he didn't have time to put together a longer video, so he just said that they lost.
@indiapale about what? A fake boater getting underage girls to do his bidding?
It still amazes me people dont take the ocean seriously
That Boca of sandbar is no joke!
That first boat did a legend 🙈
Good point on teaching passengers how to operate the Vessel for Emergencies it’s also a good idea for them to know where SparevKeyscarecstored because i’ve seen that happen several times that someone will go recue a boat to find out they don’t have a way to start it fYI i have always liked the way Wellcrafts handle. big Seas and that goes for their Scarab Hulls that can Haul Ass when you want them too I grew up inSouth Florida and spent many hours running the Inlets and Off shore on anything that Floated fromZodiacs to the Large Sport Convertibles i’ve made many Runs ro and fromThe Bahamas again on all types of Vessels and sizes minus Personal Watercrafts because in those days they just didn’t have the fuelCapacity or Economy to do so ? Most of my life. has been Motor boats but i am not closed minded on Sailing Vessels
That overboard Capt is extremely lucky. Not only was he not wearing his kill switch, he wasn't wearing a PFD. Keep temping mother nature and eventually she will win!
That size boat aren't generally fit with one. He most certainly could have had one installed
He did have a kill switch on. That's why they couldn't start the engines and go back to him or keep the bow into the waves. Kill switch made this specific situation worse.
Nice!
When florida man comes home to roost... dude that went overboard
The guy goes overboard and they still don't put on life jackets. Slow learners? Yep.
This is called drivie it like you stole it. Hope this guy learned to never underestimate the power of the ocean.
I believe boat 1 should have gotten the win. The captain handled those waves like a boss. Judging by the lack of gear on the boat I surmise the goal was not to get out onto the open ocean. Perhaps they wanted to boat surf back to shore, maybe the passenger was a potential buyer of the boat. Anyway keep up the good content my man.
I would love to see a yacht bigger than 15 meters in this conditions
Insane
You got a winner 🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
How far out do they have to get calmer water?
I noticed once the captain reboarded, the line was still dangling off the stern/port. Good way to shut down the engines.
Why no life jackets in such rough seas?
Nice lifejackets
the yellow fin kicked bocas ass straight up tho lmao
Woman moves to get her hat = loses......... Wut?
Next video, "the captain moved his arm slightly to look at the time, I'm going to have to give him a loss this round"
Video after......
"the captain clearly scratched his nose, I'm gonna have to give this round to the inlet"
I know it's all in fun, but ya man was either drunk or high when scoring this one.
all in fun.
And controversy generates comments.
Good one Bronco.
Yeah, it's getting very arbitrary, isn't it?
If you don't like don't watch it your choice
@@59patrickw We'll watch what we like and we will comment as we like. It's a free country.
@@59patrickw If you couldn't tell the banter in my message, that's on you.
It was clearly written in jest. I said it was in fun. You could have laughed along and came up with some other funny made up scenarios, or joked about the scores....
It's just boats leaving an inlet, don't take it so seriously.
Yikes!! Big water!
A life jacket is always a plus...
1:14..."Can't think of any reason that you want to be out of that inlet that day". It is not about the destination, it is about the journey.
Seems some vessels could use better restraints for skipper and crew as well. Not enough to hold them in if it capsizes or sinks, but enough to hold them in their seats during hard sideways rocking and zero gravity launches. The skipper especially, since he can't hold on to anything other than the wheel and throttle.
Just gotta send it!
That is not insane. That is how you are supposed to tackle large waves with high frequency. Trim up so you don't spear the bow through the next wave when you land. He was actually smart.
Exactly we have to question this the thought process of these boaters and and please tell your guest on your boat to get to the back of the boat when you're going through an inlet
The lack of life jackets is absolutely mind blowing, natural selection needs to kick in
Old video of of the scarab pogo
Is it harder to go out or get back in?
Keep the bow elevated and keep speed. Even Bass boaters know that.
First guys decided that hidden coca stash in sea is not worth their sudden death in waves.
💪💪💪💪💪
Boca was really rough that day
ah , at least no life jackets, freedom
I totally get the challenge. I totally don't get the no safety gear.
In "Captain overboard" segment: Note no life jackets and he left a stern line overboard to get caught in the prop.
come on bro the last boat one
I wonder if that line ended up in a prop?
I wonder what was in the long blue duffel bag in the first boat.
At least the 1sr boat want vertical with style.
Think I might take my John boat here so we can get some solid footage boys
Can watch this stuff all day but can’t for the life of me figure why someone would want to beat there boat up like that.
Dummy had no jacket. He looked like he was barely holding on
Does that sort of thing damage the boats?
Aaand LIFT OOOOFF!!!!!
WE GOT A LIFT OFF!!
Some peoples brains are smaller than others!
I’ve never been to Boca, but are there any official city rescue boats watching the inlet channel?
1:03 How does this boat just not slide backwards under the waves? Motors have snorkels or something? I can see how this would be exciting, but...what could go wrong? "I got her trimmed up as far as she'll go Martha"
The weather is too nice in Florida to RISK lives going out with white caps all over. Don't do it !!! Wait for a better day.
Bronco, where are you from?
👍👍😎⚓
Lucky the big guy could swim well as none of them had life jackets!
Does ANYONE wear PFD? And why the fark doesn't crew toss something that floats to the overboard captain.
LIFE JACKETS -- NONE SEEN are they NUTZ
Good ♥️👍👌 very good 👍♥️👍👌👌 good ♥️👍👌👌
And the only people who ever wear PFDs are the coasties and ironicly they’re also the most capable swimmers
No pfd?
first boat could have waited on the tide - an hour or so probably would have made a difference.
Where are the PFD'S?
i guess i dont like it so much as to try to get out like that
I don’t need no stinking life jacket
Breaking waves? Check. Life jackets? .......
