What I’ve learned thus far, is that the best path to success is to buy a boat shaped like a shovel, pile as many people in the bow as possible, carry as much speed as you can, and remain undeterred as you submarine the first six or eight waves. That seems to always work out. Or.. I mean never works out.
Marine architects have said there is no purpose for a square bow. It was done back in the 1900's to increase :LEGNTH for a faster boat but with new power and sail options it is no longer necessary. ALL SHOW
Sarcasm is my foundation in humor when it appears only a few recall 2+2=4. Been on both sides TBH and fair. Your comment is appreciated. Well done sir!
Great comment !!!!
😂 Best comment in the thread😂😂 lmao
@Rovingdog628 Square bow increases the waterline which makes boats faster. Google it. I am not your google.
I can't believe people don't understand that there should be no BOW RIDERS in these conditions.
At last someone else recognises how poor and unsuited they are for these conditions
TRUE! AND, YOU CANT TELL ME THIS RISES TO THE LEVEL OF FUN.
GETTING YOUR INSIDES SLAMMED TO AND FRO.
NOT TO MENTION YOUR BUTT!
Ugly bow
I can't believe these people, period. Except when they turn around - that's about the only point where their brain has actually begun to function.
i promise you most of the clowns think that loading their passengers in the bow will ballast the boat forward..these modern composite boats built with MASSIVE positive buoyancy....sure ! put your old mom in the bow to hold it down....its more likely she'll get bounced out the boat with a fractured spine
Amazes me how many dads attempt this in tiny boats with their kids without life vests.
I love the way in so many of these videos that life jackets are only given to the kids AFTER the boat starts to sink...... Madness
Thanks for your videos. I have just crossed off my bucket list moving to Miami and buying a million dollar boat to do the Haulover. You just saved me a bunch!
Pro tip from an old chopper rider - Lean forward a bit if you're about to get slammed on your tailbone. If you're upright or leaning back hanging onto something, the shock goes straight into your lower spine and you compress a disc. If you're leaning forward, you'll just bounce down a bit further and then back up.
Captain: "I've got a big, expensive boat and can do anything." Ocean: "Hold my beer."
😂
And it’s not bud light
Pontoon guys are either stoned or clueless.
Woman: You’re such a stud, Captain!
I am never ceased to be amazed how every person in every boat that’s being thrashed & tossed about are so sure they will never ever regret not wearing a LIFEJACKET
Let them drown,...crabs gotta eat same as the Coast Guards!
More education is needed.
TV channels, radio channels, internet, newspapers...We need more people talking about the importance of Prevention.
wonder how many ppl die boating..? any stats?
@@donaldpate1863 This is kind of like taking a selfie of a Bison at Yellowstone. Why??? Some people are tooo stupid to live.
The safest place is to sit directly at the bow and not wear any life preserver
I didn't know there were that many submarines down in FL. However, I do find it odd they all look like boats.
I love how most of these are the perfect, “just because you can afford it, doesn’t mean you should” examples.
Make watching these videos mandatory before braving the waters. Love the folks that go out during small craft advisories
Amazed no one go with life jackets, incredible negligence from fathers taking out children like that
3:43 I like how the dog has a life vest but no one else does, even the children.
Is that the definition of just plain stuck on stupid, or what?
Thanks God someone is going to survive...I guess.
It seems to me Lake boats should'nt be on the ocean? I could be wrong though. Everyone have a great day!!
It’s not that they shouldn’t be on the ocean it’s that you should only take them out on calm days or when there is minimal chop. But people think just because it’s a 24ft boat that they will be ok but it’s the deep v of the ocean boats that really make a difference
Darwinism at its most brutal.
Sure is funny watching that water wrap around those faces though! 😆
Get a hit? 13mm
I was just going to ask that same question but saw you beat me to it.
I'm surprised at how much the hull flexed on that Cigarette. Also, that SeaVee took those waves like a champ!
that orange boat sale went right out the window!
Always blows me away. People sitting on the bow with no life jackets in choppy water in a boat made for ants. Some of these tiny boats barely look like they want to float and they decide to go out in these waters with no life jackets?? Like.... what?!
Warm shallow waters of the Southeast Coast don’t instill fear. Been there. Never feared. Now, on the West Coast. Cold, deep, Orcas, raging wind storms and you bet I’m a different boater!
- Hey, I've got this lake boat, how about we take it out through Haulover Inlet?
- Well, the chop's pretty bad today, we should probably put everyone up in the front
- Yeah, that's a great idea, and lets forget about those stupid life preservers - especially for the kids!
Really really hard to believe, but this is the actual thought process of many of these IDIOTS!!
Jimbo even better they have pontoon boats that way a ton with a single outboard on a outgoing tide with 3 ta 4 rollers 🤣🤣
It can be very deceiving until you're already in it and realize these are pounders not rollers. Local knowledge and experience goes a long way. In the Great Lakes we always had small craft advisory flags flying letting you know what lies ahead. Perhaps a flag or warning lights would get some attention to the unknowing.
Love your videos. Love the drone footage. Please show more drone shots showing just how much water is in the boats after they stuff it.
“Man’s got to know his limitations”.😂
Not when he’s a fat and bald fifty-five year old wearing a Speedo, and believes the hot twenty-two year old actually wants him for something other than his boat and money.
Great video, Wavy. I am always somewhat amazed that so many foolish people acquired the money necessary to own and operate some of these boats.
I know right? It's been said, tech sense, no common sense!🤔
@@tommyrussell1415 both are spot on my friend!
College won't make you smart. Knowledgeable yes. But not smart!🤔
Much like youth is wasted on the young, money is wasted on the rich.
@ Angel9932 That is one of the dumbest comment that I have read today, How is money wasted on the rich? People do not become wealthy cashing government checks receiving food stamps and living in section 8 housing with a brand new Tahoe in their driveway! People become wealthy because they are smart, creative and a drive to succeed, Well others like you just make excuses! Do you want to talk about wasting money just look at the people who think government assistance is somehow a career!
@@NeverEnoughPyro40 Damn, triggered much? Stop drinking the propaganda and learn to recognize sarcasm. Lighten up a little before you blow a gasket.
It is astonishing in waters like these that nobody is wearing life jackets, just shows that most of the skippers are totally reckless.
Yeah they start putting on life jackets when the boat is half way sunk, listing, in rough weather when its hard to even hold your footing. Boat full of kids too, none wearing a jacket. Dog has a jacket but not the 12 year old Timmy. Just pray to God it doesnt sink.. These people have no business operating a boat, its downright criminal negligence
"What is the Tahoe captain doing wrong??" LOL.. WATERBOARDING his passengers...
Great info for boat designers and captains. The pontoon boats look totally unsuitable for rough water but the bouancy tubes are sealed, it has a wide beam and the platform is self draining so maybe I'm wrong!
You are correct, they are unsuitable for rough water. Yes, the pontoons are sealed, but that doesn't mean they are good. There is more to a hull design, especially one meant for rough seas. They do make pontoons designed for "rougher seas" though. Usually you will find them in a tri-toon configuration with the middle toon moved forward. You will also find they incorporate raking on the toons as well.
Pontoon boats are for placid lakes and slow moving rivers. Only an asshole takes them out on the ocean.
They don't sink but they do capsize
12:00 raging question:
" Non Amelia is not raging due to stuffing, she's mad on him cause he called her Monica two times"
😇😂
That was HILARIOUS! Thanks for posting. You need more stuffing and sinking vids. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
A three hour tour, a three hour tour….the weather started getting rough….
Damn it - bloody song in my head now 😁
That's what my kids and I say when we go on my boat. It's never is just a quick trip out on the boat.........
Sure...putting more than 1,000lbs of people on the bow always works out so well...
Yo Wavy, this has to be one of your best videos ever.
Love the drone footage it really adds another dimension you can't appreciate from shore.
Congrats !!
The "drone of shame" when those boats nosedived!
Totally the BEST agreed!!! Boy Oh Boy, that SEA RAY SUNDANCER FIFTY FIVE IS SOLID GOLD!!!!! May I just say WOW!!!!
Have to time stamp it up.
Such a banger😅
You’d think that the small lake boats would get stuffed the hardest but my goodness, some of those 35’+ boats got BRUTALIZED.
The captain at 12:29 is really skillful. He had one last wave to clear for a really commendable exit.
"Were gunna need a bigger bilge pump!" "WERE gunna need TWO bigger bilge pumps !"
Those Bulbous bow boats seem to ride well they are taking off in NZ at the mo , the Florida keys is a good testing ground for boats forsure ! They seem to be all fiberglass construction as apposed to aluminum which we us alot over here especially for sea fishing , fiberglass is mainly used for the lakes but it's a preference..
Happy Thanksgiving - plenty of stuffing here to go with the turkey! 😁😁😁
BEST COMPILATION EVER. Bravo Zulu WB. You treat your subscribers thoroughly.
Amazing seeing so many improperly trimmed boats. Great footage
@Dao Fa Wang ahh yes the lake boaters. Good eye on the red striping. Also matches the lacerations on the passengers
The turkeys are out just in time for the stuffing!
Like running my 10' Johnboat on the Missouri river with a 20MPH wind coming upstream!! LOL Just INSANE!!
Plus most captains don't know how to use the throttle to handle big waves. They just plow into them. Many times a dunking can be avoided.
The lady captain was awesome... She rocked it!
💪😎👍
I was just down in FLL this past week and I dragged my wife to the inlet after watching your videos. We hit the dog beach to the north of the inlet so it was a win all round. Great content
I hope she enjoyed a good stuffing.

Hi, I'd like to buy a boat
Well, here's our selection sir, they start at 20ft all the way up to 30ft. One feature of our design is, all our boats come with a jacuzzi up front for no extra cost
That big semi displacement hull boat was exactly what I've been yelling is needed for cutting through big water like this for the last 3 videos!!!
I am no expert nor a boat owner (unfortunately), but do the boats take some damage to the frame when hitting these waves and slamming back down? Or are they built purposely to resist such impacts? I'm surprised people don't check weather and wind direction before leaving port especially the smaller boats. Even just a glance from land into the channel you can sort of understand whether its worth it or not. Ciao from Italy 😎
A lot of people are just really dumb. And the hull of the boats almost never take any damage from this. Other than it’s inhabitants needing a chiropractor.
@@hungryhungryhummer 🤣
@@Gianni_87he’s not lying. He’s 100 % correct. It’s crazy so many of them have made it so far in life.
2:40 what did he do wrong? Picked a bad day to take his water scoop through Haulover.
6:32 2nd time this guy comes through, going equally as slow in one of the fastest boats. It's begging for some throttle!
Right? Almost painful to watch the guy struggle with a boat that can rip out of there with no issues.
My Goodness.!!! The skill it takes to exit this inlet on a windy day is beyond admirable. These weekend Captains are not equipped..🤦😳😶🌫️
Weekend captain's? That's a fairly lame insult my guy
Now I am no physiologist or anything but seriously !! An experience like this on water at a tender age can/ will put someone of boating for life.
I dare say only the most hardened adolescent would appreciate this kind of experience. Not to mention the adults.
LOL
Are you sure you’re not a psychiatric specialist? I suppose “physiologist” and “of boating” provide additional context clues 🧐
Well stuffing happens , I’ve been on the bridge of a super carrier and it stuffed bad, funny to see a wave running over the flight deck and taking three of our aircraft off the fan tail.
Back at the dock: Thanks captain, that was so cool. Meanwhile, inside their heads they're saying,"Never again. Never again."
Thats a spine compressing good time.
Great Design on the penta v 8
the guy at 2:00 managed to stuff a hull in the conditions its literally designed for. insane.
i think the reason so many people stuff the hull is because the solution goes against common sense. throttling up and speeding up isnt what comes to mind when you are sinking your boat.
Ur saying the people should be slamming the throttle???
The water always looks calmer when standing on the shore
Amazing waves
One of your best videos EVER! WHAT A RIOT. I cracked up when the guys in the Cigarette almost drowned. LOL And the little one that had to be escorted out? They were probably partying on the sandbar, got hot and wanted to get wet. Mission Accomplished. LOL How many times did he stuff it? Who knows, boats like that can stuff it in 6 inch waves. I've seen them do it on just a windy day in calm waters.
lol... its like people dont know how to drive there own boat....lol amazing...
Is looking at the weather conditions forbidden in Florida BEFORE heading out? WOW! People sure seem to make a LOT of mistakes.
conditions are like that in that inlet 90% of the time.
That SAY is beautiful!
The drone shots are awesome
2:41, first of all he is not a captain, he is just a power-driven vessel operator
😂😂😂
“What could the captain have done differently?”
Left your boat at the marina and not risked the lives of people aboard your vessel.
Funny to see so many of these LAKE "Tahoe" boats gunning straight down the inlet with people in the bow... recipe for success!
Gorgeous design, smooth and beautiful boat !
Love the say 42'.. has that great cutter bow and a very nostalgic look to it.. reminds me of the rum runners! I could only imagine owning one.. or does it own you?
The cutter design is great for cutting through the chop.. obviously what it's meant for lol
@@karlhoffman5290 I'd disagree. It's more appearance over substance. The very short distance of the transition between the very narrow 'V' at the waterline to the much wider, flare towards the deck leads to very brutal impacts when heading out through messy seas like this. Sure it cuts, but when the displaced water is forced upwards, it smashes into the flared hull above...
Oh Lord, thy sea is so great and my boat is so small!!
I like the SAY42 Hull design. Very efficient event with what the driver let us saw on the few exemple on this inlet. This guy don't know how to run on waves clearly. Despite that the hull make an awesome job and that's the boat of this size I would like to have in rough conditions.
Trim tabs all the way down, engines all the way in, head straight into disaster with the bow up slow and steady as she goes.
Donzi Z/3250
15:22 wonder if these people even realize just how CLOSE they were to sinking that little boat? Lady up front isn't even panicking as the boat turns into a kiddie pool.
Jeeeez, what was that, 2 kids and 2 dogs with mother/father and not a single life jacket in sight.... what were they thinking
To stupid to be scared!
Buy picnic boat
I’m amazed that boat didn’t sink
That hull design appears very effective.
Yes it is
You can always tell the old salts by the number of fenders still hanging outside once they cast off! Over the years I've found dozens of them in the mangroves and on the beaches.
If youre single handing why would you take fenders in at the marina? asking for trouble. Wait until you got some open water around you and you can safely leave the helm
The skipper of the Tahoe is clearly doing his best to sink that thing...
“Is it a good idea for her to stand there?”
The ocean says no.
Small boats for the size of those waves.
I can't believe the number of people who don't know how to trim their boat. If you don't have adjustable trim, at least you can move your passengers to the rear and adjust throttle.
The jetskiiers seem to be having a blast.
These folks are proof that there is no IQ test requirement to purchase or operate a boat 😂
Or car
Thank you so much for your wonderful videos. Sometimes it seems that the boatdrivers have absolutely no clue. I am from northern Europe and we would not be allowed to go in such small boats and without a driving licence to the open sea. Well but our climate is much more harsher so it would be suicidal. Greetings from the Northsee🦭
I like how the one scarab with the 2 dudes is like "Trim? What's Trim? I thought you were supposed to have your motors at a 45 degree angle?"
really enjoyed the submarine video, this was a good one
Personally I love the hull design on that boat it’s definitely a different designed kinda boat but it looks like it’s meant for those conditions
It’s a SAY 42. The 50 launches 2024.
I disagree, if it were meant for those conditions everyone in the boat wouldn't be soaked, especially with little to no coverage or windshield, and he wouldn't have had to turn around so soon. If it was a test for potential new buyers, it failed by the hunched over status of its passengers.
The Say42 looks slightly better to me than a Pardo.@@Kltpzyxm17
What a raggedy Ann in that Scarab
I wonder how many boats go up for sale after passing thru this inlet.
The Tahoe was a submarine. I took hours of bigger waves 5-7's offshore in my Hydra sport 2000 DC and never took water over the bow.
There's a big difference between lake boats and ocean boats , some just dont understand this concept and never will 🤷🏼♂️
That’s the last stuffing he’ll be doing today.
I’ve got a great corny title for your next video: “Real Turkeys and plenty of STUFFING, just in time for thanksgiving at Haulover inlet!!”
The chick all pissed! Lmao! Bro your on a boat, in the ocean…
I feel like when a person buys a boat at the dealership this is the first video they show them before they sign the papers 😂😂
Yes
@@sergioortega6388 yup
Most of these people should be arrested. their incompetance is mind boggling and not even talking about putting people in danger
Arrested for what? Live and let dumb.
That orange boat is beautiful
That woman raging 😂😂😂 you're on a boat, there's a good chance you'll get wet 🙈🙈🤣🤣
All of the captains bringing children without PFD's should be fined.
That’s a nice Kawasaki STX 160LX on the back of that yacht. Kawasaki underrated when it comes to STX. They need to give it the same love they give the Ultra
Say 42 doesn't look very seaworthy, certainly not a dry boat!
11:49 princess got her hair wet.......that dude needs to quit dating strippers
Matching bikini and sunglasses, impressive…..
If the Captain of the Tahoe in segment 3 is trying to get everyone wet, and nearly swamp the boat...., he did everything right. If not, he should have had some of them sitting aft, lol
These drop bows need to stay in the lakes. They dive right into those rollers.
Wooo: feels good to be back on YT! :D 🌊
Must have been a top pre-launch safety briefing! At 4-50, none of the kids fastened their lifejackets and the girl in the bow didn't have a clue how to put a lifejacket on..and it still had the damn price tag waving in the wind. Here in New Zealand, all must wear lifejackets when underway on vessels 6m or less. Lake boats are lake boats and referring to the boat drivers as "captains" is, in most cases, pretty optimistic!
I was so hoping the lady who threw a tantrum because she got really wet when that wave hit would get hit with 5 more in short order. LOL You're in a tiny boat in the ocean with big waves, what did she think was going to happen? I loved the guy's reaction too....priceless. I'm bald so I ain't gotta owrry about just having my hair did. LMAO
I imagine the miami harbor patrol sees its a rough day and they are like "Ah Sh*T here we go again...."
