This is a video I've wanted to make for years but have never had the courage to do, and took 6 months from start to finish to complete (beyond the 60 days of training). I was so scared to do this because of the criticism so many singers face. I hope that you'll listen to my first ever song (eek!!) and enjoy it - it's a song for you.

@@ilikeseals1732 Aside from certain medical conditions, everyone can learn to sing if they have a good teacher and actually put in the work. It's easier for some than others, like anything else, but you should definitely give it a try!

To be honest I feel like most people are afraid of singing. Afraid of being judged by everyone watching you and judging you. People have to be very brave to sing in front of people so I am very proud of her. :)

I really appreciate your vulnerability in your filming! I appreciate your confidence and it makes me feel brave. Michelle is the reason I try to never give up. She is the biggest inspiration of my life. Honestly Michelle your voice sounded so good even at the start. Whenever I hear CZcamsrs sing I’m like “oh that doesn’t sound very good…” but to Michelle it was way better that I expected.
The title made this seem like a fitness challenge! Was pleasantly surprised to see a singing, writing, production video! Love this and love you!

When I learned that you went to my high school and were in my drama department, it seemed crazy but seeing those videos made it all so crazily real. I’ve heard stories about that production of HSM and had no idea that you were even in it (Patti doesn’t use names that often). Thank you for talking about how you didn’t keep with it bc she only ever talks about the ones who did. This was incredibly inspiring and I’m so happy for you and proud of you for going so far put of your comfort zone.

I just watched this video, and listened to the song for the first time. I am in tears at the moment while typing this. The moment the song started I was overcome with chills because I related so closely to this song, most all of my life I have been told you can't do this or that, you are showing me that with determination and perseverance I absolutely can. Michelle you are an amazing human being, I have been watching your videos for a few days and you are someone of many talents. To you it does not matter who or what we are, in your eyes and in your heart we are human and important. I am a Veteran who served during the 80's and 90's so I have seen my share of terrible things, of late I have allowed those incidents define who I am, but now I will NOT allow it any longer. I am going to pick myself up by the boot straps and press forward and reach my goals in life. You have inspired this old man to push through his own barriers and truly live for once in my life. As someone who also comes from a musical theatre background and has a very similar voice, I know how hard it is to switch from a classical sound to a more "pop sound" while still keeping technique in mind. Vocal training can be so effing scary and so vulnerable, and its hours and hours of hard mental/emotional/physical work which many people don't understand. Props to you Michelle for going out there and trying your hardest and killing it

Singing is no joke. People think it's easy, but you really have to pay attention to how your body is feeling and if your heart is into it. It's not just about hitting a note, it's about conveying an emotion or telling a story. And to be able to capture that after not singing for 8 years is incredible! Not to mention you wrote your own song which is a feat in and of itself. I'm so proud of you! This is different from anything else you've done and I can tell how important it is to you. Great job!

I love how you kill this even though you don't have a conventionally "good" voice; what I mean is that you don't have a vibrato and don't hit bell tones and don't go all over the place with your notes, and I've been told my whole life that those were the kinds of things that makes a singing voice "good". I have my bachelor's degree in musical theatre, and I can't do any of that stuff either. I've been self conscious about my singing voice my whole life. But this is a bop, and you sound really good, and I'm glad that you did what you love while sharing a good message despite what is conventionally considered acceptable. Gives me a bit of confidence in myself.
