God, you’re so refreshing. Any ‘spiritual’ response that lacks compassion isn’t spiritual at all. ‘Jesus wept’ is the shortest yet most profound verse of the Bible. It’s the only response a human being can have. Thank you for being real.

Thank you for holding us all. It means so much. It makes all the difference when people hold both Israelis and Palestinians in their hearts in love as human beings before anything else. It helps us see this. Everyone is so caught up in blame and condemning and guilt and choosing one side. And every person who rejects this division and insists on caring about people on both sides because we are all people brings a little healing. And those of us trying to do this draw strength from each other.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I am an Israeli Jew with Palestinian friends. And your words touched my heart so deeply. And give me strength to keep going. Thank you thank you thank you.
We just all deserve safety love and peace.

Praying with you Jeff, I am Israeli, and like most of the people I know, we just want peace with our neighbors … we need to have a place to live, because most of us don’t have anywhere to go back to ( my grandmother was from Warsaw in Poland). I’m tired of war … but I do want our hostages back, and I’m scared of living with people who don’t want us to exist 🙁

We know from our long history, that humans are not capable of responsibly governing themselves. Corruption is malignant, cooperation is rare, and wars erupt like clockwork. Life is suffering. The Buddha was telling us that the world wasnt meant to be a perfect place where life was meant to be only pleasant and easy. We are not going to turn this world of suffering into a world of heavenly bliss. All we can do, is to be as present as possible and as helpful as possible, without being attached to unrealistic outcomes. It is possible to imagine dozens of theoretical solutions to the Israel/Palestine conflict, but if we are honest, we will admit that there isnt going to be a happily ever after, and there never is, because the price of life is pain. The Buddha said that this world is not a heavenly realm, and it is not a hell realm. It is a pure paradise, because it has just the right mix of pleasure and pain, loss and gain, to allow us to take a spiritual journey, where we can learn to open our hearts and to awaken our minds. Cheers, Jeff!.

I strongly disagree. Human history has shown that we are masters of cooperation, peaceful interaction and sharing of resources. What we have going on now is that the 3% of the population that actually are psychopaths (a proven percentage), are the same people who are in power, making all the rules, running the show and enriching themselves through manufacturing, selling and finding every excuse to use weapons of mass destruction and ritual sacrifice. If the 97% of relatively peaceful beautiful people took control from the 3%, there would be very little conflict, a lot of cooperation and a lot of peace and beauty in this world. It's the bad apples that spoil the whole bunch.🙏🌈💗

and schopenhauer took it one step further and argued that this is the worst of all possible worlds exactly because it's not full on hell and not heaven either. For if it was just a tad bit more hellish it wouldnt be self sustaining and would destroy itself ultimately ending the torture. But no! This realm is the absolute most evil cause it elongates suffering as much as possible. The perfect torture master is not the most brutal but it's someone like ramsey in GOT toying with greyjoy. Just when he is about to throw in the towel he gives him some hope to revive him only to be able to torture him further. I'm afraid your assesment of this reality is still too life simpy. This life is ramsey and we are grayjoy.

Well said!! I was also very touched by Jeff's beautiful poem, I join him in the heartfelt (non-religious) prayer. And if I may share my perspective - as someome who had the labels 'Jewish' & 'Israeli' put on me at birth - it seems to me that the way out of this horror is not really in political arrangemnts but rather it lies in the heart of people, in the ability/capacity to see the humanity and divinity of another before viewing them as a label (palestinian, israeli, muslim, jew). As well as in coming to terms with and acknowledging the IMMENSE AND PROFOUND TRAUMA that each "side" has caused the other and in finding ways to heal together.
(and before I proceed I'd just like to say that unlike moat israelis, I'm fully aware that the trauma that the newly arrived jewish immigrants caused the local people over the last century - in their brutal ruthless cruel supremacist exclucivist tribalist project to disposses, throw out, take over, dehumanize and erase of the local people in Palestine - is many many orders of magnitude greater than the other way around (than the trauma caused to someof the newly-arrived jjewish migrants by the resistence of the local people to being dispossesed, massacred, abused and driven out of their home). Some of it is detailed in this shocking documentary m.czcams.com/video/3psMGQE0iW4/video.html which i can confirm is 100% true to reality based on my own personal experience in the Israeli military. And after watching that docu I also highly recommend this short video czcams.com/video/CSff-Ip1kZs/video.htmlsi=udYd0XxYz6kbcDMb that details the horrific TRUTH of what is being done, everything that the nationalist one-sided billionaire-owned media never tells you.
This capacity mentioned above, to step out of one's bubble and hear/see the humanity and divinity of another before seeing a label (and the stories attached to the label), requires having CONTACT between the "sides" so that we may hear each other's stories and each other's pain, but this contact is prevented and denied becasue of the incredible dominance of the tribaliat sectarian nationalist divisive ideology in both sides (extremely dominant among israelis, in my experiemce)
As someone who was given at birth the label 'Jewish' and 'Israeli' (but have already long ago seen through their inaccurate, distorting, corrupting, limiting, imprisoning, divisive, sectarian and God-denying nature) I notice that what allows this ongoing horror to happen (not only today but for more than a century now) is that there is such a total SEPARATION AND DISCONNECTION between the "sides" (this is one of the greatest successes of nationalism driven by the ultra-wealthy ruling class, to divide and tribalistically pit against each other those who for centuries lived together, before the introduction of the divisive nationalist mind virus to the region) SEPARATION AND DISCONNECTION so that people from both "sides" have no full understanding of the life experience & trauma experience of those on the "other side".
From what I see, this total DISCONNECTION is exactly what allows people to cheer when "our hero fighters" (whom the other side calls foriegn invaders/dispossesors/colonizers or terrorosts) murder, torture, oppress, abuse, slaughter and bomb "them", because each side says "they are evil people who only want to harm us, take our land and kill us/kick us out", and each side has countless examples of actions by the other side that are supposed to "prove" the supposed rightness of their claim.
Each "side" is enclosed and contained within its own SECTARIAN BUBBLE and tells itself its own story, about its trauma and difficulties, and is completely unaware of the life experience and trauma of the "other side".
And so, when the other side reacts (in what it calls self-defense) then the first side interprets it as an attack (becasue of its DISCONNECTION from the stories and sense-making of the other side) and tells a story that "those people on the other side" are evil monsters who only want to harm us for no reason.
It's quite amazing how similar the story that each side tells itself to the story that the other side tells itself, it is practically the SAME STORY - we are the victims here who are only protecting ourselves from the aggression of those evil people over there who only want to harm us and hate us for no reason. We have no one to talk to and negotiate with, they are not human beings, they are sons of Satan who hate us from birth, who only want to destroy us and take our land and kick us out - each side speaks the exact same stories!!
And all this lack of understanding happens simply because there is NO CONTACT between the "sides". This is the tremendous success of nationalism/tribalism, there is a complete disconnection, so that I don't hear the story that the other side tells itself and how they make sense of things, I don't experience their life experience, I don't know anything about their pain, I don't realize how much the story they tell themselves is the same as the story I tell myself, and therefore there is no possibility of experiencing the HUMANITY (the fear, the search for security) that motivates the other, just as it motivates me, and therefore also indifference to the trauma that the other goes through at the hands of "our heroic fighters"
It seems to me that the main engine that drives all of this is that people in the region (and especially Israelis) undergo a very deep conditioning/indoctrination from a very young age into a separative and SECTARIAN RELIGIOUS-NATIONALIST IDENTITY and learn to believe (contrary to what reality shows) that this separate and divisive identity is what will provide them with protection and security, even though it does THE EXACT OPPOSITE!!
This indoctrination into the separative exclucivist religious-nationalist identity is much more than just mental brainwashing, but it is mainly the conditioning the of the nervous system and emotional system into IDENTIFICATION with a nationalist-religious label which causes the emotions and the body to react very strongly to anything that they teach me is at odds with this identity.
Strong reaction that comes from the fact that the body/brain/nervous system has been conditioned to learn - through constant repetition in the first years of life (when the personality is formed), again and again and again, and without questioning - this is who I am, that I am this national-religious identity.
It seems to me that those who have fallen into the abyss of sectarianism/tribalism/nationalism (and especially those whose tribalism also involves divisive, excluding, supremacist and God-denying sectarian religious beliefs) have been conditioned to believe that their saftey & security will be found through group separation and exclusion, a sense of separation from the rest of humanity (a feeling that is so deeply imprinted in those who believe that the label 'Jew' is who they actually are), that security will be found through an attempt to ensure the safety of ONLY one group of people, only those who were born into the "correct" religious-national label (and anyone who was not born into the correct religious label can go to hell. She matters a little but not nearly as much as the Chosen People, the most valuable and important people in the universe). It sounds ridiculous, but this is a VERY common & mainstream worldview in the extremely tribalist, ethnocentric, & fascistic Israeli society, and it plays a huge part in what brought about this conflict in the first place, since the very early days of sectarian exclucivist zionist nationalism, and its arrival in the middle east from (mostly) eastern Europe.
To me, this is precisely the blindness of the sectarian nationalist-religious identity: trying to create security ONLY for one group, ONLY for a part of the whole (while ignoring and dismiss8ng what this does to the whole) , such an attempt can NEVER ever lead to real security but exactly the opposite - this is the number one factor that creates constant conflict and INSECURITY!!!
TRYING TO CREATE SECTARIAN SECURITY (SECURITY ONLY FOR THE PART AND NOT THE WHOLE, ONLY FOR ME AND MY GROUP) IS THE VERY CAUSE OF INSECURITY!!!
In my understanding, tribalism/nationalism and sectarian divisive exoteric religion (which is the POLAR OPPOSITE of what God/Consciousness actually is) is the great disease and blindness of humanity. Is the most destructive and deadly invention that humans have ever invented (not because we are bad, but because we have not psychologically matured yet, and are still blind, and in our inocent blindness we believed that this is how we will find safety & security, without understanding what we are doing, without realizing that we are actually creating constant INSECURITY when we search for security through the sectarian divisive nationalist-religious identity, when we seek security only for the part and not for the whole).
To me it is absolutely clear that it is the number one cause of human division, separation, antagonism, hatred, conflict, violence, murder and war..
IMHO, the bloodshed can never stop and there will never be security for anyone unless we have the courage to step out of our sectarian bubble and actually listen and truly understand the profound trauma we inflict (this is true for both sides but especially so for Israelis who are incredibly brainwashed and ignorant of the UNSPEAKABLE HORROR CRUELTY INHUMANITY AND TRAUMA that supremacist right-wing zionist ruling class inflicted and inflict on the local people.
Without feeling the pain endured and understanding wha tlocal palestinians are actually reacting to, indoctrinated supremacist zionists will just continue with the murder, abuse, dispossession, cruelty, throwing-out, massacre and erasure of the local people, and keep telling themselves the story that 'they are hostile to us for no reason, simply becasue they are evil antisemite monsters by nature..'

As an Israeli I watched the first seconds of it with a bit of tension because I was afraid that "this spiritual authority with all of the help he gave to people etc will at the end of the day speak from the perspective of a British guy, talking about a 100+ years old conflict happening very far away, not knowing the mentalities of the region, motivations, cultures, history and all that is at play.
I think the most sincere, honest and respectable answer is really to say honestly I don't know..
As someone whose own life was "violated" by Westerners who lectured me on what was REALLY going on where I live while rockets flew at my house nonstop for decades and while they don't even know where these places are on a map, I really appreciate the honest approach
I do embody the truth as much as I can in my life, but I believe that most people on earth who do this are fortunate enough to not have their "spirituality" be tested in a similar way where a group of people are saying for decades "we want you dead and there's nothing you can say or do to change it", its quite an awakener haha

Only that it is documented that as a state Israel has financial and military aid from the USA etc making them the strongest army in the world against a very weak population who do not have the same backing. It is also documented that "settlers" continue to invade the small area they have left. And it is also documented that the educational system in Israel encourages a prrejudiced attitude towards Palestinian people which is probably why they experience unbelievable levels of inequality, inhumane conditions, during "peace" times that could lead to being provoked? Children put in cages by the Israeli soldiers is old news predating the horrible attack Operation Edg3, in 2014. The West has treated people on their own turf in equally disturbing ways, so a westerner will respond either in denial of that or full ownership which will be expressed differently. Therefore a westerner and their "expert" view is a silly thing to seek. Look to your own conscience and the deep indoctrination beyond the current invasion/"war", one that predates Israel... or that goes beyond the geopolitics or your region, that thinks punishment is a solution...

I could go on for several PhD theses) and (b) created many of the conditions that caused the rise of Muslim radicals, from overthrowing the Iranian democracy in 1953 to trying to steal the Suez in 1956 to arming the mujahideen against the Russians to the Iraq War... Thank you for finally breaking my heart. I have all these thoughts about the war to not let it hurt me. Now I finally could realy feel the pain. The deep, deep pain because off my fellow human beings who are suffering. and dying. They are also my brothers, sisters and children. I as a human don't want to see my brothers, sisters and children in pain. What a heartfelt prayer. I am so greatfull for feeling my deep, deep pain over these wars. In my mind is also hate sometimes and revenge and all this human stuff but in my heart there is the pain and the longing for peace for all these people. And that feels so much more natural. This realy helps me to look at my own internal wars in a diffrent way also. I want peace over there roo. And I can feel compassion for that too. It is a bit more difficult for me then to feel the pain for that than the external wars I notice. Interesting.

It's confronting for me to see what we are capable of and what is inside me if we are maybe traumatized or trapped in a system of fear, dehumanization or propaganda and all the suffering and the feeling of being hopeless.
It reminds me of the diary of Etty Hillesum, a jewish women who lived during the ww2 in Amsterdam and died in a concentration camp. In her diary and during the time of occupation and in a concentration camp she begon her journey into herself, she refused to hate the Germans and see them as they are without labels, hate or concepts. She even found freedom/God inside a concentration camp.
There is a group in Israel and Palestine who works with quotes in this diary to open a conversation into the other perspectives.
"Every atom of hate that we add to this world makes it still more inhospitable"
"If there were only one decent German, then he should be cherished despite that whole barbaric gang, and because of that one decent German it is wrong to pour hatred over an entire people."

In 1967, despite the Arab Peace Initiative at the 2002 Arab Summit, which required Israel to withdraw from the West Bank and Gaza in exchange for recognition of all Arab countries in Israel and normalization with it, Israel has so far rejected international resolutions and the Arab initiative.

@@TheWaveSon Hey my friend, from the earlier responses I see you have given to others I presume you might be an Israeli yourself or at least it is a rather personal story for you. I would say I am pretty informed on October and the general history from a certain perspective. In regards to October, there were many atrocities but also many unfactual stories, even Biden debunked that which he thought he saw. In my opinion it still horrible for both sides. If we remember the platform we are on we will remember that we are One Being; Being itself; one ocean, only now just different waves of the same ocean talking to each other on CZcams. From what I have read, seen and perceive from the history I see one bigger wave (Eisrahwel) trying to drown, steal, domineer and surpress the other wave (Plestynianms). Possibly because this aforementioned bigger wave has been met with violent hate and discrimination. This other wave I mentioned has been forcefully shrinking for 75+ years. So it is almost natural (not justifyable persĂŠ, that is another question) that the smaller wave would fight back. It is an international right from international law that the occupied and oppressed are justified to resist against their oppressors and occupiers. So in that regard it might be justifyable. This leads to many massacres on both sides true. From what I read now with Gawsa and earlier history; for every dead Realy another 20 dead Plystanyanz, something like that. I know that this is a bad metaphor and incomplete knowledge perhaps but I try to express how I subjectively see it. And comparing the death and wounded toll in Ghasah, it outnumbers October. I am not saying I am pro This so automatically anti That, I am just saying the That has been getting away with crimes and being justified and pointing fingers away at the This. The imbalance I described has to be sorted, which means getting rid of the Raeisrli apartheid system and freedom and democracy for both parties. This democracy, or one state is much more in line with the ocean different waves philosophy. Right now state of Isrei is the opposite of that. But once again this is my view. I actually hoped that maybe we could talk and agree to agree, agree to disagree or learn

One of my takeaways at this point is that this genocide is a huge projection of unexamined/unhealed trauma, that very unfortunately could lead to another genocide in the future. Children, as they say, learn what they live. The same can be said of cultures. The Jewish culture experienced genocide at the hands of the Nazis and are now perpetrating it on Palestine. A few generations from now, it will be up to Palestine to perpetrate another genocide upon another people or, to examine and heal that trauma. Given the saintly and extraordinary fact of their faith in action throughout this ordeal, I would not be surprised to peak into the future and find that they have halted this karma completely. I know this is a very complex situation as well. It is not Judaism that is perpetrating this horror. It is a secular state that does not recognize or practice any religion whatsoever. It is also the product of a very small global elite who are psychopaths and only interested in enriching their own pocket books and enacting ritual blood sacrifices. For my part, I pray, I write my songs, and send love, mercy and resources energetically throughout my meditation and prayers.

An urban warfare that's going on for 200 days in a densly populated area with one party fighting from within population.
200 days, tens on tens of thousands of heavy bombs that can kill hundreds each, and the death toll is around 0.5 people per bomb and numbers are even cut by 50% a couple of weeks ago so its less.
If someone WANTS to commit genocide that would be the worst and most inefficient way to do it.

For very good reason. "All things work together for the good"....OF ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE, WITHOUT EXCEPTION. Paul introduced error into the "Gospel" with his ideas of JUDGMENT according to BELIEF, and SACRIFICE FOR "SIN," so people haven't stuck with "the words in red" and don't know the Meaning of Life in this world. I was sent to restate the "GOOD NEWS" with the meaning that GOD gave it. But few are interested, and want to stick with what they (don't) know. Yes, wars must come to bring about the good. And if you wanted to know EXACTLY why, you would seek and you would find. "Unless ye become as little children....."
