    Is the SkyScan 88900 similar to the Lacrosse 8418u-it weather station base unit? I have the 8418u-it with the TX29u-it sensor and also, is the TX37u-it similar to the TX29u-it because I have the TX29 sensor that also has TX37u-it written on the back. Also I use AA lithium batteries in the sensor because in the Sask. winters, temperatures often go below -30 degrees Celsius. We are also the only province in Canada that do not observe DST, staying on CST all year round.

    We have a model 88900. My Set and + buttons are either not responding or responds very slow. I am not able to correct time settings for the clock. What can be done to rectify this ?

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před 3 lety

      Hey Virendra, our sincere apologies for the trouble with your SkyScan clock. Please work through the following reset instructions to hopefully help get this corrected.
      1. Remove all power from your clock. Including batteries and unplugging the power cord (if applicable) from both your wall and from your display.
      2. Press any button on the clock at least 25 times and leave it sitting without power for at least two hours.
      3. Power the display back up by plugging the power cord into your outlet first, then into your display. If your model uses AA or AAA batteries, be sure to install a new set of reputable alkaline batteries from the same package, other battery types should be avoided.
      If these steps still do not get your clock up and running correctly, we'd suggested reach out to SkyScan directly here: skyscanatomicclocks.com/support/index.php?a=add for further assistance. Sorry again for any inconvenience.

      Thanks for the reply and the instruction page. I was using a lithium battery which was not rechargeable. When I went back to using an alkaline battery the clock worked as it should.

    I have a Model 88900 and am unable to set the language to English. My clock goes to F or C option instead of language when I follow instructions. Also what does the day number mean, clocks goes from 1 - 29. A reply would be appreciated.

      Hey Jeff, as mentioned on our other post, unfortunately there is no contrast setting on your clock model. The best option at this point would likely be to look into a new clock. Feel free to message SkyScan directly here: skyscanatomicclocks.com/support/ or search via our extensive collection here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/collections/atomic-time -- If you have any further questions please just let us know. Are the signals sent out daily?
    Any particular time of day?

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před 3 lety

      Hi Tom, the WWVB signal is broadcasted constantly from Fort Collins, CO. In many cases our clocks will pick up this signal over the nighttime hours, as there is typically less interference. More info on this can be found here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/pages/atomic-time

    Would a TX29 or TX37u-it 915mhz lacrosse outdoor weather sensor work on this unit?

    • @darrellbobyk6363
      @darrellbobyk6363 Před 6 lety

      The reason why I asked this is that I have a 8157u-it, 9160u-it,8418 u-it and a 9245uit all running off the TX29u-it sensor which also has TX37u-it written on the back and also I seen a Skyscan 88900 base unit which I seen on e-bay that I think is similar to a 8418u-it in operation but different in appearance. i

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před 6 lety +1

      Hi Alyn, we recommend you mount your outdoor sensor in a shaded location. Direct sunlight will likely cause high temperature readings. For more details about mounting locations, we suggest viewing this video: czcams.com/video/uAQJpTZnbWA/video.html

    Your product is NOT an 'atomic clock'. The atomic clock is the timekeeping device in Colorado in your case, where it gets the time signal from.
