    Agreed. I have both and wouldn't prefer the Warrior X in almost any situation over the M2R pro. I also find the sharp cutoff at the end of the spill is terrible walking in the woods. It creates such a bad blind spot. Not having any low beam settings is something else I didn't really care for. I think mounted on a rifle is probably the only real strong suit for the Warrior X.

      Ricardo G thanks so much. My videos have gotten better with time. At least the quality of the production. My reviews are the same honest opinion. I really appreciate the kind words. Everything is bought with my own money. No support from Olight. I did reach out to them, I’m obviously too small to be of any significance to them. I very much appreciate your comments. If by some chance you have any friends by all means let them know about my channel. It would be a help. . I’ve got to tell you friend. Things are pretty tough here in Victoria. Thanks for that buddy. You’ll love both. My only caveat which I mentioned with warrior pro x is the run time at high output. You’d barely get 2 runs at 3 minutes on high. It has a great run time on the lower setting but high craps out too quick. I’d be interested to hear your opinion. Thanks for kind words. 👍🏻

  • @bushcraftandastronomer.3775

    You like them both and you gave your honest thoughts on both. I bought warrior X Pro and for distance and self defence use! Warrior x pro does feel great a high quality tatical flashlight and great little hand warmer in those cold winter nights. M2R does look very nice and is bright. Warrior X Pro my only complaint is turbo doesn't last more than 2 minutes as I'd say I'd like longer turbo run time. M2R has that single beam which looks nice too. It's aleays so good to hear honest reviews and thoughts! Stay safe!

    • @gadgetphilosophy8290
      @gadgetphilosophy8290  Před 3 lety

      As time has gone by. The M2R has been the choice for me. I barely bring the warrior x out to play. It’s more of beast with output but reality is for what I use it for, Mainly casual stuff (definitely not tactical) I use the M2R. But if it’s for tactical yeh the warrior is a savage. As fir run times the original warrior X pro was rated to 2300 lumens, so it chewed through the power. You’d barely get 2 runs on full power before you see it dim down to 1000 lumens. At that point you’d barely see a difference between high and low. Still when it’s peaking. It’s a savage.

    Comparing an edc light and a weapon light... I have the warrior x pro on my ar15 and it’s perfect. Took the belt clip off and put my light in a picatiny mount. Whole reason it has the 2 modes is for indoor/outdoor use 1 you don’t blind yourself indoors put it on low and 2 it throws light 600 meters if you need to shoot at someone shooting at you down the road. Good review on the mr2 though I do like that flashlight a lot (for edc) . 👍🏻

      matt corcoran so sorry for late reply. I don’t know how I missed it?? You know the 350lumens is plenty of light for any situation.. think about it. 10 or so years ago when led lensar bought out their 100 lumen torch everyone including me though it was revolutionary. Now if it’s not 1000 lumens we’re disgusted as if it’s not good enough. The reality while here in Oz we don’t have many guns. I’d imagine tactical operation should be simple. Not trying to work our modes. 100% agree with your choice. Good throw. Good spread, robust. Just light enough to carry on top of riffle. It be my choice for sure. A lot of people are also using the javelot pro. I thinks it’s too big. But I’m just one fat guy with an opinion. Nice to hear from you. Cheers

    I think the M2R Pro has adequate light spread for walking on High and Turbo but that does increase head and reduce battery life so I understand if that's a concern for people, as of writing this comment I'm pretty undecided between the M2R Pro and the Seeker 3 Pro.

As for M2R pro. My favourite up until now. ATM a very close second to seeker pro 2. It’s also awesome. Not tactical but very usable beam pattern. I just don’t like the colour tint. I’m more into neutral white/warm white. Ok. Speech over. Take care

    • @rolandnyul
      @rolandnyul Před 4 lety +1

      @@gadgetphilosophy8290 I really appreciate the effort of youtubers which buy stuff of their own money. It's more likely to get a honest opinion. My absolute favorite lights from Olight are the i3t/i5t (small and lightweight enough for EDC and I got one of them in each room next to the light switch), S2R Baton 2 (still small enough for EDC but better output and runtime) and the Seeker 2 Pro (like the S2R Baton 2 but on steroids)

    • @gadgetphilosophy8290
      @gadgetphilosophy8290  Před 4 lety

      triffnix for me the little batons. S1r baton 2 and S2R baton. They’re my favourite little baby’s for edc. They’re real handy as you can also clip on a hat and use as a head torch. Dual purpose. I like the form factor of the i3t and i5t just not a fan of replacing battery’s. That being said I’ve got a few of them. As for buying torches with our own money. Yes that’s how it is. Self funded. Expensive. It takes a long time to get anything from you tube. You either have to be huge or your wasting your time. I’m only doing it for a bit if fun. Was hoping to get more traction but it’s very difficult. Especially for torches. It’s such a niche topic. Either way I get to learn to do video editing, camera work etc. it’s been fun. Especially in this isolation with covid and all. Anyway. Take care. Good to hear from you. At least I get to chat to torch minded individuals like yourself. 👍🏻

  • @TestTubeBabySpy
    @TestTubeBabySpy Před 3 lety +1

    Ok, this is my opinion. Olight has yet to create the perfect flashlight. All of their handheld lights have a very specific lenses for very specific beam patterns. The MR2 has almost a stage spotlight beam, which works, but only at a very specific distance from what you are trying to see. The X Pro has a very concentrated beam meant for looong distance. Initially I was disappointed that the color temperature was so "yellow". After quite a bit of research, i now know that the higher color temperature lights that most of us like because of its bluer tint and resemblance to daylight, don't fair too well at night as far as distance goes. The yellower LED's emit light more toward the red spectrum, and as we know, red light has a longer wavelength, therefore can travel longer distances than the bluer, cool LED's. I would like to see Olight do a light which kind of comes down the middle of these two lights. A slightly wider beam than the X Pro with mabe a slighter ...and only slighter brighter color temperature. Strobe is a must for me, a visual batt. level indicator is a must for me as well. The implementation of this vibrating battery indicator is weird to me. I do have both light, and I like them, but for completely different purposes. God that was long..

    • @gadgetphilosophy8290
      @gadgetphilosophy8290  Před 3 lety

      Nice comments man. Well. I’ll say the seeker 2 or seeker 2 pro might be more your style. It’s a floodier beam pattern but due to its high power lumen output it gets out there. It has battery indicator. it has strobe.. Look I’m like you just a consumer. Olight don’t support me in any way. They do make quality stuff. As for the haptic engine in the warrior I’m with you. The colour tint on the original seeker 2 seems good to me. They had a big name brand LED. It’s also more energy efficient ( philips) i think. Damn I can’t exactly remember. It was slightly warmer and not so blue like the seeker 2 Pro. My 2 favourite lights are the M2r pro and the original seeker 2. Now if I’m being absolutely straight the seeker 2 pro is more practical. But I do like the slim form factor and spotting capabilities of the m2R. Anyway. Thanks for your thoughts. 👍🏻👍🏻

      Lasse Kolb with all of us a personal preference is the right thing. After all we’re the ones using the torch. Eg I always harp on about warm white.
      (neutral white)..it’s my personal preference but it seems Olight stats prefer the lumen output instead colour tint. I’m definetely a fan of baton II , form factor and sheer range. In fact I love the 5 power settings most Olight torches have. Not a big fan of the 2 step rear switch on the warrior pro. It’s ok on the M2R cause it give you best of both worlds. Either way . Peter Atkins , congrats on the m2r. the seeker 2 I has same UI as the m2r pro on the thumb switch. (No tailswitch). . The light pattern is more of a spread but due to its shear power it gets out there. Doesn’t shine as far as the m2r and certainly not as far as the warrior pro x. However if close range eg up to 25m where most people use a torch it does really well. It’s a great walk light. It’s primary purpose is not to spot. It’s got the 21700 battery. Basically keeps the barrel of the torch more slimline (ergonomic). I’m not a big fan of tail switches on any torch however I don’t use it in a tactical application so the thumb switch on the head suits me fine. (Personal opinion)... to tell you truth. If you already have the m2r it’s not that much difference to the seeker 2 pro. If for eg you wanna carry 2 different torches in different places I’d say yeh get the seeker 2 pro. However if you walk at night I’d get a head torch. Eg. A h2r nova or a Perun that’s if you wanna stick to the Olight family. I’ve made a vs video on that too. Maybe check it out. Go to ‘gadget philosophy ’ on you tube and check it out. Both head torches are good except the colour tint. Sorry about drawn out answer. In conclusion if it were up to me the seeker 2 pro is a much more useful torch than the warrior x pro.

    • @gadgetphilosophy8290
      @gadgetphilosophy8290  Před 3 lety

      Warrior x up to 60m. Obviously it’s relative. As the beam shoots further out it spreads. Bigger hotspot spread out. These so called ratings are measured at an equivalent brightness of moonlight. So yeah light gets there but how effective is it that dim ? Not much. These ratings are good for comparing one to another but as I suggested 10-20% of rated distance is realistic. That being said it’s only my opinion/perception. 👍🏻

      Yeh agreed. Also I find the warrior x pro to chunky. If you use it a lot it’s another valid consideration. That’s why I picked m2r myself. Plus battery life and stepped modes. As over a year went buy. Overall for me the most useful torch is a toss up- seeker 2 or the M2r. Warrior X is a dud 👎🏻

      You’ll be happy. I’m especially biased to the M2R but you won’t complain.

      George Bousgas if you move the decimal point over a couple of notches, and buy it second hand. I’d say your pretty close. Any comment is a welcome comment. You’re from Greece. Are we related? Do I know you ?

    So warrior pro has some spill but the m2r pro doesn’t have any spill?

    • @gadgetphilosophy8290
      @gadgetphilosophy8290  Před 4 lety +1

      Gary Willis in simple terms. Yes. The M2R is a ‘wider’ spot barely any spill. The warrior x pro has a small intense spot(super bright)with a very wide secondary spill, it’s almost like 2 different light patterns. Hope this helps.

      Gadget Philosophy Are the spill from Warrior Pro useable? Or do you just know that it is there, but doesn’t make a practical difference?

      @@garywillis8737 I have the Warrior mini and M2R pro, the M2R is laser focused with very little spill, I far prefer the less powerful Warrior mini, it is better balance between flood and thrower.

      Oh really. Bummer. I can’t say I’ve had anyone else report this issue. I don’t know what to tell you my friend. Sorry I guess. I unfortunately can’t touch the videos once they’re posted.
