Thank you very much sir for your gorgeous description. I bought this flashlight a few days ago and now thanks to you I have a better understanding of all its functions. Cheers and greetings from Verona (Italy).
The magnetic base is what I love about ‘’Olight lights’’ and magnetic charging feature. I keep this light in my truck..I love it. Thanks for sharing your videos
This just arrived at my pick-up location! So excited to try it out! 😁
Great review as always
Very good job, thank you for this useful video
I love mine, had to come figure it out the easiest way I know how 😅 when I was a boilermen I worked nights for years packing the stream light pro tac HL, and the the freyr is kicking is ass on every front so far, but now I'm an oyster farmer and my demand on light is much greater, I don't think I'll be left in the dark anytime soon thanks to this awesome addition to my kit ! .
I almost did not buy it, but am glad I did. I like the Freyer a lot more than I thought I would. The wand design is inspired and not only can it be used as a wand, as you mention it also makes a decent lantern. Further, for cold temperatures it can be used as an insulating handle, albeit taking care not to swing the light out of it.
True. I didn’t even think about using it as an insulated handle.
Sheesh man. At full strength you could see this damn thing from space. Def too big for an EDC. Great video as always! 👍
If you really think that you should check out the Olight Javelin
Nice light! Yes the beam profiles of the RGB look rough but could be FAR worse. They are still usable at least.
Nice intro! I saw this over on their FB page. Would make for a nice vehicle safety light. Cheers my Friend! Zip~
Thanks buddy
I'll be taking it backpacking with me this weekend. I think the thrower capability, red light and diffuser would be great for backpacking/camping. I'll report back after the trip.
Definitely. Thanks!
@@ChrispyThings the Freyr was awesome. I would still carry a small headlamp but it's great to hang in the tent with the diffuser, in a group setting, red light is awesome. This thing is a spot light for its size.
I have the free and the Marauder mini. I work night shift armed security. This combo is not unstoppable and I have a 20000mah 20 watt charger in a pouch on the back of my Safelife Defense body armor which keeps my lights topped off. Olight simply owns in this area.
Damn, I just got the warrior pro and wish I would of gotten this one for a few bucks more, the throw isn't that far on mine and my Fenix 35 that's rated 1000 lumins is the same brightness, kinda disappointed. And the Fenix has a white light and not the yellow from olight
Btw there are thrower flashlights that for 30 bucks throw further than this light. But they’re just for throwing not as feature packed. There are laser beam flashlights too.
I’m aware . Thanks!
The novelty of this light are the colors and silicone cap.
I own a Olight M2R Warrior Pro, and it's awesome! But I'm looking for an alternative since it becomes TOO hot to hold without gloves after just a couple of seconds on the higher modes (above 250 lm) 😪 I have a condition that makes my skin very sensitive to heat and develop rashes and blisters even at slightly hot temperatures.
Would you say this light has better heat dissipation than the M2R?
I also have a Olight Seeker 2 Pro, and that one works great for me. I just miss having a tactical bottom-switch! 😅
Or never mind, I'll just make sure to carry a pair of gloves with me... 😅 I'm getting this light anyway, and then spend the rest of my savings on the probably even more ideal product that Olight releases totally out of the blue 1 day after I've passed the right of withdrawal period 🙂👍
Problem with Olight is they no longer use current regulation. The lights dim as the battery discharges.
Is that true? I have noticed mine get very different at about 60% power or less
Does olight customize bthese or third party?
Have you reviewed anything from the Javelot line up? If not let me know!
Not yet!
If this light also had (in addition to the W-RBG LEDs) a 5th LED with a high CRI (or a warmer ~3000K light temp), and the moonlight mode was only 1 lumen instead of 5, plus included an extra 50 lm step between the moonlight and RBG modes - then this would be the PERFECT EDC-light! 😅
Does it have a timer shut off mode ?
Not that I know of
Having the cone but no beacon is a missed opportunity IMO.
I was expecting strobe mode for the RGB leds :(
ah it doesnt have that? would been cool with police strobe red and blue eh..
@@mortuus4601 for that you need the Nitecore SRT7GT ..throws over 400 m but the lumens on the red/green/blue settings are individually lower than the Olights
you have never seen that head before? have you seen the marauder 2?
It’s similar but much wider.
And no I’m not familiar with every single light on the market. If I don’t own it, I’m not familiar.
And I own about 50 flashlights. Lol
@@ChrispyThings you can also turn off the proximity sensor by hitting the front button fast 15 times.
Love your reviews!
Please forgive me for saying that but this episode was a bit long...
Most of it was the beam test.
There’s a lot to go over with a light like this. The video is as long as it takes to go over all of the components.
What does it matter anyway? My average view duration per video is 4 minutes.
I made this 17 minute video, and my viewers only watch 4 minutes.
The answer? Stop reviewing the light fully and cut corners? Hmmmm
@@ChrispyThings you are awesome!
The sensor in the tip is just utterly useless it compromises the functionality of the light
Manker MC13 mini thrower.....smaller...longer distance over 700m
That light looks to be primarily a thrower.
And it’s not RGB, you have to specifically pick your light color.
These are 2 completely different lights...
Rave on
Looks like a great light, but definitely way too big to edc. If I was going to have that big of a light on me anyways, I might as well go all out and edc my marauder! I feel like anything bigger than their seeker 2 pro is too big, and even that is pushing it
This is about the same size as the Seeker 2 and Seeker 2 Pro, none of which are part of my EDC kit.
300 to 1750 with nothing in between, it needed a 800 or 1000 lumen step. Shame
Exactly the reason why it’s not an EDC for me. Plus the size.
@@MPD90 yeah but for that 2 mins 1750 might be more than I need. seems like a waste of battery. I only ever use turbo if absolutely necessary and with good spacing I find I don't need the turbo. I buy my flash lights based on the the high mode, turbo is merely a bonus if that makes sense
@@Studat I get what you mean
Does it only use proprietary Olite 21700 battery only? I have a feeling it does use proprietary Olite battery? I may be jumping conclusions but I made it a rule to not buy flashlights that use proprietary battery these days. I know I know many brands are doing this now but I’m happy buying last generations lights just to be able to use any type of battery and not get stuck using an OEM battery. Truthfully speaking these last few years or so every new flashlight is mainly a different twist or two or new colour to them just to temp you into buying a new model.
I’ve tested this with other 21700 batts and they still work.
@@ChrispyThings thanks for your help in checking if non proprietary batteries will work on this light. JFI .. I’m going to see if there’s any possible factory problems with this flashlight like I’m hearing for their recent release for the Mini warrior or wait for the pro version of this light if they do make one and hopefully it’ll still be battery friendly.
Olight Rgb too low lumen light , acebeam l17 red, acebeam l18 green, acebeam l19 cw, acebeam l35 nw.
Its better to me.
First one here
why you have to kept mention EDC EDC ? the hell is with EDC do really have to compare every fk thing with ability to EDC , change your channel name to EDC might as well
I do what I want. Say what I want. And call my channel anything I want. That’s why.
Damn James... chill out. Remember you clicked on his CZcams page. If you don't like it, don't watch.
Is it that time of the month? ;-)
Proprietary battery is no good
